Fatigue life prediction method using CAE tools are presented. Fatigue life is composed of crack initiation life and crack propagation life. In this study. the process of computing the crack initiation life is described. The crack propagation life can be computed from numsrical fracture mechanics approach. Fatigue cracks are usually occur at notch regions. Therefore. in order to compute crack initiation life. local dynamic stresses and strains near the notch region should be defined. Multibody dynamic analysis and finite element analysis methods are used to compute the dynamic stresses and strains at the notch region. Then. crack initiation life is computed using a local strain-life method. This CAE-Integrated fatigue life prediction method can be used in conceptual design stages and early product development stages. For the demonstration of this method. a suspension system of an off-road vehicle is modeled and the fatigue crack initiation life of the suspension life was predicted.<br/>
