본 연구는 E. tarda에 대한 특이박테리오phage와 생균제의 일종인 B. subtilis KM-1의 혼합제가 E. tarda에 대한 항균활성에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 수행되었다. 가장 효과적인 혼합제의 항균활성을 보인 phage의 적정 수는 B. subtilis 가 2×105 CFU/㎖의 농도로 존재할 때 배양 36시간째 2×105 PFU/㎖로 나타났다. B. subtilis의 경우 2×105 PFU/㎖의 phage가 존재할때 첨가량에 비례하는 항균활성을 보여주었다. phage와 B. subtilis의 혼합투여는 phage나 B. subtilis 각각을 투여한 그룹보다 훨씬 높은 항균활성을 나타냈다. 본 연구의 결과는 수산양식에서 대두되고 있는 양식어류의 E. tarda 감염성 질병 치료를 위한 항생제 대체 제로서의 사료첨가제 개발 가능성을 제시하고 있다. The present study was performed to investigate an antibacterial activity of specific bacteriophage (phage) and Bacillus subtilis KM-1 (B. subtilis) mixture against Edwardsiella tarda (E. tarda). An appropriate number of phage showing the most effective antibacterial activity was 2×105 PFU/㎖ with 1×10 CFU/㎖ of B. subtilis 36 h post incubation. On the other hand, B. subtilis showed a dose dependant manner in inducing antibacterial activity in the presence of phage (2×105 PFU/㎖). The phage and B. subtilis mixture showed higher antibacterial activity against E. tarda than phage or B. subtilis only. These results suggest that the phage and B. subtilis mixture could be utilized as an alternative to antibiotics in the control of fish diseases caused by E. tarda.

The present study investigated the effects of dietary Edwardsiella tarda (E. tarda) specific bacteriophage (phage) and Bacillus subtilis (B. subtilis) mixture on innate immune responses and antibacterial activity of Nile tilapia, Oreo-chromis niloticus. In a dietary experiment, tilapia were fed the control diet (C), a phage-only supplemented diet (P), a B. subtilis only supplemented diet (B), or a B. subtilis and phage mixed diet (B+P). A respiratory burst and significant increase in lysozyme activity (P <0.05) were noted in the B+P group, as compared to other groups after 4 days of feed- ing. The B group showed a significant (P <0.05) increase in respiratory burst and lysozyme activity versus the C and P groups, whereas no significant increases (P <0.05) were observed in the P and C groups. ACH50 was significantly up-regulated in the B+P group versus other groups after 8 days of feeding (P <0.05). In vivo antibacterial activity was significantly enhanced in the B+P fed group, as compared to other groups (P <0.05) after 7 days of E. tarda challenge. A significant (P <0.05) increase in antibacterial activity was seen in the B group, as compared to C or P groups after 14 days of feeding. These results suggest that a B. subtilis and phage mixture could be utilized as an alternative to antibiotics in the control of fish diseases caused by E. tarda.

영상 정보는 기존의 문자 정보에 비하여 그 크기가 방대하다. 따라서 영상 정보를 효과적으로 저장하고 인출하는 일은 영상 처리 시스템의 성능 향상에 중요한 요소가 된다. 본 논문에서는 영상 데이타를 물리 영상과 논리 영상으로 분리하여 관리함으로서 영상 해석(Image Implementation)과정을 효과적으로 지원하는 영상 정보 관리기를 설계하고 구현하였다.
서해안 양식장에서 분리한 Vibrio alginolyticus의 특이 bacteriophage에 대한 구조적 특성

Vibrio alginolyticus (V. alginolyticus), which is one of bacterial pathogens evoking severe infection in fish and shellfish as well as in human has been found at high frequency around all coast areas in Korea. Both V. alginolyticus and V. alginolyticus specific bacteriophage were isolated from sea water and various fishes from fish farms on west coast in Korea. In a morphological study based on electron microscope, the purified phage appeared to be composed of hexagon head of 60 nm and short tail of 20 nm. In the denatured SDS-PAGE analysis, the structural proteins of the phage were found to be 7 different protein fractions ranging from 37.8 to 198 kda. The kind of nucleic acid of the phage was ascertained to a double stranded DNA.

Vibrio alginolyticus, a marine f ish and shellf ish pathogen, has been found at a high frequency around the coastal areas of Korea. Vibrio alginolyticus was purif ied from various diseased f ish, and a V. alginolyticus-specif ic bacteriophage was isolated from seawater obtained from f ish farms located on the west coast of Korea. In a bacterial lysis experiment using the phage and antibiotics, tetracycline, 103 cfu/ml of V. alginolyticus were completely lysed by both the phage and the antibiotic, suggesting that the purif ied phage in the study could be utilized as an alternative to antibiotics in the control of f ish and shellf ish diseases caused by V. alginolyticus.

Edwardsiella tarda (E. tarda)는 담수 및 해수어에 광범위하게 감염을 일으키는 그람 음성 박테리아이다. 본 연구에서는 서해안 넙치 양식장에서 분리한 E. tarda에 대해 특이 용균을 보이는 파아지를 분리하여 파아지의 활성에 미치는 환경적 요인인 pH와 배양온도의 영향 등을 조사하였다. 또한 어류모델로서는 담수어종인 Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus)를 이용하였으며 E. tarda와 파아지와의 상호작용을 알아보았다. pH 안정성 실험에서는 담수보다 해수에서 높은 활성을 보였으며 온도 안정성 실험 결과 50℃까지 일정한 활성을 보였다. Tilapia 감염 실험에서는 파아지와 E. tarda를 접종하였다. 그 결과 실험군은 대조군에 비해 24시간째까지 E. tarda수가 일정하게 감소하는 것을 확인하였으며 파아지는 처음 접종 양보다 약간 증폭됨을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 E. tarda에 의해 발생되는 질병을 특이 파아지를 이용하여 제어할 수 있음을 암시해준다. Edwardsiella tarda is a broadly infectious agent against freshwater and seawater fishes. In the present study, E. tarda specific phage was isolated from fish farms on the west coast of Korea, and the effect of environmental factors such as pH and water temperature on the phage activity was investgated. As a fish model, Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) was used and the interaction between E. tarda and phage was investigated. The phage activity, in pH test, appeared even higher in seawater than freshwater and was evenly constant up to 50℃. The phage and E. tarda were inoculated in tilapia and the phage activity and E. tarda viability were checked on the time intervals. As a result, the number of E. tarda in the group of E. tarda plus phage was constantly reduced to 24 hr post-inoculation compared to the control group without phage, whereas the phage activity was slightly increased in the experiment group. The results suggest that it might be possible to use phage to control the fish disease caused by E. tarda.
