        예이츠의 기억과 신비사상

        예이츠의 기억은 신지학회와 황금새벽회의 신비사상에서 배운 마법의 원리로서 작용한다. 그의 시세계에서 기억과 정신은 지속적으로 변화하고 대기억으로 흘러들어, 신비사상의 아니마문디라고 하는 보편적 기억 저장소의 일부가 된다. 예이 츠는 다이몬과 환몽을 과거 기억을 불러와 시를 창조하는 초자연적 힘으로 사용한다. 환몽의 다음 단계인 판타스마고리아에서 과거의 기억들이 용해되고 신선한 새로운 이 미지로 창조된다. 이 연구는 예이츠의 단편적이며 불연속적 기억들이 후기시에서 비자 발적 연금술의 방식으로 통합되었음을 강조한다. For W. B. Yeats, memory functions as a magic principle which he learns as in the Theosophical Society and the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. In his poetical world, memories and minds are ever shifting and flowing into a part of Great Memory, a reservoir of a universal memory called Anima Mundi. Yeats uses Daimon and Dreaming Back as a spiritual power by which past memories are evoked and a new fresh image made. The image can be created in phantasmagoria, following the process of Dreaming Back. This paper studies how the fragmentary and discontinuous memories are united in Yeats’s later poetry through the involuntary alchemical unification of fragmentary and discontinuous memories.

        Mn-DPDP가 간의 자기공명영상과 양자자기공명분광에 미치는 영향

        Purpose: To determine the influence of manganese dipyridoxyl diphosphate (Mn-DPDP) on MRI and proton MRS. Materials and Methods: In an in-vitro study designed to determine changes in the lipid peak at 1.3 ppm, 4.7T MR equipment was used to obtain proton MR spectrographic images of a lipid solution of varying concentration, with and without Mn-DPDP. Before; at 10, 20, and 30 minutes; and at 1, 2, 4, and 24 hours after the IV injection of Mn-DPDP (10μmol, 1ml/kg), the concentration of Mn in liver tissue was measured by atomic absorption spectrometry. At the same intervals, T1-weighted MR images were obtained, the signal intensity of the liver was thus determined, and the relative enhancement ratio was calculated. MRS of rabbit liver was performed serially at the same intervals, and the peak areas of metabolites, as well as their peak areas relative to lipids, were calculated. The findings were correlated with tissue Mn concentration. Results: At 1.3 ppm with Mn-DPDP, MRS showed that the peak area of the lipid had decreased. Tissue Mn concentration increased just after Mn-DPDP injection and peaked after 20 minutes, decreasing to a level within the normal range after 24 hours. Serial changes in the signal intensity of the liver, as seen at MRI, showed a similar pattern to that of Mn concentration. There was reverse correlation between serial change in the peak area of lipids at 1.3 ppm and Mn concentration after Mn-DPDP injection. Conclusion: At T1-weighted MR imaging, the injection of Mn-DPDP led to the enhancement of liver tissue, and at MRS, the lipid peak at 1.3 ppm decreased. There was close correlation between these effects and tissue Mn concentration. 목적: Manganese dipyridoxyl diphosphate(Mangafodipir trisodium, Teslascan, Nycomed, 이하 Mn-DPDP)가 간의 자기공명영상(이하 MRI)과 양자 자기공명분광(이하 MRS)에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 대상과 방법: 시험관연구로서, 4.7 테스라자기공명영상기기를 이용하여 다양한 농도의 지질용액에 Mn-DPDP를 가하기 전 과 후에 MRS 스펙트럼을 얻어 1.3 ppm 지질피크의 변화를 보았다. 생체연구로서, 가토간조직의 망간함량변화를 알아보기 위해 Mn-DPDP(10 μmol, 1 ml/kg)를 가토에 주사하기 전과 주사 후 10분, 20분, 30분, 1시간, 2시간, 4시간, 24시간에 간조직을 원자흡광분광분석기로 분석하였다. 같은 시간에 T1-강조영상을 얻어 간의 신호강도를 구하고 상대적조영증강정도를 계산하였으며, MRS스펙트럼을 얻어 각 대사산물들의 피크면적을 구하고 이를 지질피크면적으로 나눈 상대비를 계산하여 간조직의 망간함량변화와 비교하였다. 결과: 시험관내 연구에서 Mn-DPDP는 1.3 ppm의 지질피크를 억제하는 효과를 보였다. 간조직의 망간함량은 Mn-DPDP 주사 후 차츰 증가하여 20분에 최고에 도달하고 점차 감소하여 24시간에 정상수준에 도달했다. Mn-DPDP 주사 후 T1-강조영상에서 간조직의 신호강도변화는 간조직의 망간함량변화와 유사한 형태를 보였다. MRS에서 Mn-DPDP 주사 후 1.3 ppm의 지질피크면적은 간조직의 망간함량과 역으로 변했다. 결론: Mn-DPDP는 MRI의 T1-강조영상에서 간의 조영증강효과를 보이고, MRS에서는 1.3 ppm의 지질피크를 감소시키며 이는 간조직의 망간함량변화와 잘 일치하였다.

      • 한국산 채소류의 Angiotensin Ⅰ converting enzyme 저해작용에 관한 연구

        The renin-angiotensin system is one of the most important of humoral vasoconstrictor and vasodilator machanisms involved in blood pressure regulation. The angiotensin I converting enzyme catalyzes the production of the vasoconstrictor angiotensin II as well as the inactivation of the vasodilator bradykinin and of the enkaphalins. Consequently, many researchers have investigated to prepare and isolate the naturally occuring ACE inhibitors. This study was carried out to investigate the inhibitory activity of ACE from 33 kinds of vegetables. The yield and ACE inhibitory activity of these samples were found to be significantly affected by the condition of extraction. ACE inhibitory activity of most samples were higher in water extract in order with broccoli, Small watercress, sedum, leek, parsley, egg plant, green onion, radish root and perllila leaf exhibiting more than 60%. The yield of soluble solids in water extraction were higher in order with pumpkin, garlic, sedum, onion, broccoli, spinach, cucumber, green onion, korean cabbage and leek exhibiting more than 20%. When dried samples were extracted with various solvents, sedum, broccoli and tomato showed higher ACE inhibition in ethanol extract while parsley, leek, Small watercress, persimmon leaf and garlic showed higher ACE inhibition in methanol extract. Hot water extraction at 100℃ for 30min caused a significant decrease in ACE inhibition as compared with cold water extraction. Thus these results suggest that ACE inhibitor of these samples seems to be water soluble component being heat-unstable.

        Convergence Study on Preparation of Anti-aging Peptides from Fish Collagen Hydrolysates

        An anti-aging peptide was prepared from fish collagen hydrolysate (FCH) by ultrafiltration (MWCO; 1 kDa) and reversed-phased high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). Its anti-aging properties were evaluated based on the procollagen-synthesizing and MMP-1-inhibiting activities in Hs68 cells. A potent anti-aging peptide (fraction I-I) increased collagen synthesis by 46% and also inhibited MMP-1 secretion by 77%, compared with unpurified FCH. The amino acid sequence of fraction I-I was identified to be Gly-Arg-Arg-Gly-Asn-Lys (GRRGNK; the repeating Gly-X-Y sequence in collagen), and it had a molecular mass of 686.175 Da. It revealed that the anti-aging activity of GRRGNK was mainly due to skin protective effects. These results demonstrated that fish collagen hydrolysate may be a potential source of anti-aging peptides, which could be utilized in various field, including foods, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.

        Optimized preparation of anthocyanin-rich extract from black rice and its effects on in vitro digestibility

        The procedure for obtaining anthocyanin-enriched extracts from black rice was optimized by response surface methodology, and the effects of the optimized extract on in vitro starch digestibility were investigated in a wheat flour gel model. The experimental results were welldescribed by a polynomial multiple regression model (R2 = 0.8812, p = 0.0546) with regard to anthocyanin content in anthocyanin-enriched extracts from black rice. The optimal conditions for obtaining anthocyanin-enriched extracts from black rice were 50.78% ethanol and 1 N HCl (0.60 mL), yielding a predicted anthocyanin content of 624.27 mg cyanidin 3 glucoside extract. The optimized anthocyanin-enriched extract was a stronger inhibitor of aglucosidase than acarbose. Furthermore, the predicted glycemic index values of gels prepared with the optimized extract were significantly lower than that of wheat flour gel. These results indicate that the optimized extract suppressed starch hydrolysis by inhibiting digestive enzymes.

        Response Surface Optimization of β-Glucan Extraction from Cauliflower Mushrooms (Sparassis crispa)

        The extraction procedures for β-glucans from cauliflower mushrooms (Sparassis crispa) were optimized by response surface methodology. Experimental design was used to investigate the effect of 3 extraction parameters (pH, extraction time, and ratio of water to raw material) on β-glucan content. The parameter ranges investigated were 6-10 for extraction pH (X1), 5-15 h for extraction time (X2), and 10-30 for water to raw material ratio (X3). The experimental results were in good agreement with a polynomial regression model by a multiple regression analysis (R2=0.95, p=0.0074) for β-glucan content extracted from cauliflower mushrooms. The optimal conditions for β-glucan extraction from cauliflower mushrooms were determined as extraction pH of 6.05, extraction time of 8 h 55 min, and ratio of water to raw material of 19.74,showing 60.76% of the predicted content of β-glucan.

        Substituting Whole Grain Flour for Wheat Flour: Impact on Cake Quality and Glycemic Index

        Whole grain flours (e.g., barley, brown rice,buckwheat, whole wheat) were characterized and their effects on the retardation of starch digestion in pastes and cakes were examined. Buckwheat flour had the highest dietary fiber, the lowest starch, and lowered paste viscosities than all other flours. Under in vitro starch digestion,buckwheat and whole wheat flours were highly effective at lowering starch hydrolysis in pastes and cakes. Furthermore,replacing wheat flour with 50% buckwheat or whole wheat flours maintained the volume index and textural properties of cakes. Therefore, substituting up to 50% of whole grain flour for wheat flour in cake formulation produces acceptable quality as well as health benefits (lower predicted glycemic index and increased nutritional value).

        Synergistic Antiradical Action of Natural Antioxidants and Herbal Mixture for Preventing Dioxin Toxicity

        The herbs danggui (Angelica gigas) and clove (Eugenia caryophyllata) and 4 natural antioxidants were combined in order to investigate whether or not they exhibited synergistic effects (SEs) on DPPH radical scavenging capacity. SEs were determined using the ratio between experimental scavenging capacity (ESC) and theoretical scavenging capacity (TSC). In all tested mixtures, SEs were observed, indicating ESC/TSC ratios greater than 1. The highest SE (p<0.01) was observed for the solution combining α-tocopherol (20 μg/mL) and quercetin (0.7 μg/mL) with danggui of 0.3 mg/mL and clove of 0.05 mg/mL. The addition of lipid-soluble antioxidants resulted in greater SEs than the addition of water-soluble antioxidants. The excellent SE appeared when quercetin was added to the herb mixture, while the addition of ascorbic acid did not result in SE. The results indicate that the combinations of compounds with different antiradical effects may more effectively protect oxidative stress than alone.
