        18% Ni 마레이징강의 용접 잔류 응력에 미치는 열처리의 영향

        One of the most interesting and promising steel groups considered for the rocket motor case, aircraft and aerospace component is the maraging(martensitic plus aging) nickel steel, developed by International Nickel Company in 1960. This material attains a very high strength with good fracture toughness by simple heat treatments which do not involve a quenching. Full strength can be obtained by "maraging" at 480.deg. for 3 hours for the 18% Ni maraging steel. The effect of heat treatments was considered on the residual stress field of 18% Ni maraging steel weldments. In experiments, various heat treatments such as stress relieve heat treatment, aging and solution heat treatment were carried out of the GTA weldments and the residual stresses were measured by using the hole drilling method. Whereas the conventional pattern of residual stress shows the stresses to be maximum along the weld centerline with tensile stress extending into the heat affected zone, the pattern in maraging steels shows the centerline stress to be compressive. After welding, a series of aging, solution heat treatment and solution heat treatment plus aging treatment were carried out and the residual stresses were measured to reveal that these heat treatments almost completely remove the welding residual stresses.

        Arc Sprayed부의 Erosion 특성평가

        The characteristics of arc sprayed layer were studied with hardness test and microstructural observation. The erosion resistance of arc sprayed layer was also evaluated using a method of steel ball blasting test which was proposed in this study as a test method for measuring the erosion properties in the impact wear condition. By an impact of the molten droplets on the redeposited substrate, lamella structure was formed which contains laminated oxide layers, fissures, and porosities. As a result of mechanical tests, it was shown that the sprayed specimen showed higher hardness than the substrate, but it resulted in higher erosion rate than the substrate. The poor erosion property obtained with a sprayed coating was considered to be attributable to easy flaking off the the layers laminated with brittle oxide layers.

        파이프의 가스메탈아크 용접에 있어 센서 시스템을 이용한 용융지 제어 및 용접선 추적에 관한 연구

        To implement full automation in pipe welding, it si most important to develop special sensors and their related systems which act like human operator when detecting irregular groove conditions. In this study, an automatic pipe Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) system was proposed to full control pipe welding procedure with intelligent sensor systems. A five-axes manipulator was proposed for welding torch to automatically access to exact welding position when pipe size and welding angle were given. Pool status and torch position were measured by using a weld-pool image monitoring and processing technique in root-pass welding for weld seam tracking and weld pool control. To overcome the intensive arc light, pool image was captured at the instance of short circuit of welding power loop. Captured image was processed to determine weld pool shape. For weld seam tracking, the relative distance of a torch position from the pool center was calculated in the extracted pool shape to move torch just onto the groove center. To control penetration of root pas, gap was calculated in the extracted pool image, and then weld conditions were controlled for obtaining appropriate penetration. welding speed was determined with a fuzzy logic, and welding current and voltage were determined from a data base to correspond to the gap. For automatic fill-pass welding, the function of human operator of real time weld seam control can be substituted by a sensor system. In this study, an arc sensor system was proposed based on a fuzzy control logic. Using the proposed automatic system, root-pass welding of pipe which had gap variation was assured to be appropriately controlled in welding conditions and in torch position by showing sound welding result and good seam tracking capability. Fill-pass welding by the proposed system also showed very successful result by tracking along the offset welding line without any control of human operator.

        수도용 대형 강관의 용접부 설계 개선에 관한 연구

        Large steel water pipes in Korea are joined prevalently by bell end method and welded at inside as well as outside of the pipes with the length of leg which is same as or larger than the thickness of pipes. This results in an excessive consumption of material and labor compared with foreign counturies such as USA, so that in our recent situation of requiring a number of water pipes such consumption is very ineffective and an improvement in weld design of water pipes is urgently necessary. In this experimental study, the possibility of reducing the length of leg to 85% of the pipe thickness was investigated through observations of microstructure and cross section of weldments, the tensile test, and the impact test of the field and laboratory specimens. As the results of this study, it was revealed that water pipes which have the leg of fillet about 0.8xthickness show a good weldability, have a greater strength than the base metal and absorb the enough energy to be safe in the working condition of the pipes.

        용접로봇을 위한 아크센서 및 인?이스 시스템 개발에 관한 연구

        An interface system was developed to offer the welding capability to a robot controller which had not any embedded function for arc welding before, and also an arc sensor algorithm was proposed for weld seam tracking of the welding robot. For the interface system between the robot controller and welding equipments, data communication software and interface connections were composed. The interface system was mae to correspond welding condition, correction data, operation sequence and current status with the robot controller by mutual had shaking and digital signal transfer. Graphic user interface program developed under the environment of windows made it easy to monitor data communication and operation status, and to control welding and sensing sequence. Arc sensing algorithm proposed in this study to compensate torch position error was based on a fuzzy logic with the variables of current difference and current differenced change at torch weaving extremities. The developed interface system could be successfully implemented in between welding equipments and the robot controller, and showed normal status and exact function in data and signal communication between the systems. The whole robot welding system was then examined to verify its welding and seam tracking capabilities in horizontal fillet, vertical fillet, and 3-dimensional fillet weldment. The experiments revealed sound weld bead shapes and also good seam tracing results.

        유도가열을 이용한 강판성형공정에서 변형량 예측을 위한 계산식 유도

        Recently, the electro-magnetic induction process has been utilizing to substitute the flame heating process in shipyard. However, few studies have been performed to exactly analyze the deformation mechanism of the heating process with mathematical model. This is mainly due to the difficulty of modeling the inductor travelling on plate during the process. In this study, heat flux distribution of the process is firstly numerically analysed with the assumption that the process has a quasi-stationary state and also with the consideration that the heat source itself highly depends on the temperature of base plate. With the heat flux, the thermal and deformation analyses are then performed with a commercial program for 34 combinations of heating parameters. The deformations obtained and heating parameters are synthesized with a statistical method to produce simplified formulas, which easily give the relation between the heating parameters and deformations. The formulas are well compared with results of experiment.

        용접구조물의 제작시 발생되는 변형사례 모음

        이 글에서는 Butt joint에서 발생되는 가로수축, 각변형 그리고 bowing의 관찰을 통해 mechanism을 서술하였고, box beam, damper blade, bulk head, ball tank, 그리고 cylindrical column 등 실구조물의 변형문제에 접근하여 변형예측, 측정 data제시, 그리고 그 해석을 통해 구조물의 변형 크기를 인식케 하고, 동일한 구조물의 제작에 guide가 되고자 하였다. 변형에 대해서는 일률적인 방지방법이 없기 때문에 우선은 구조물의 제작시마다 변형의 크기와 향상에 대한 예측과 함께 변형계측이 계속되어 data가 축적된다면 차후 그 이용 및 응용 효과는 지대할 것이다.

      • 거리계측을 위한 시각센서의 설계에 관한 연구

        A visual sensor consisted of polygonal mirror, laser, and CCD camera was proposed to measure the distance to a 3-dimensional object. To scan the laser light of the sensor onto an object, 8-facet polygonal mirror was used as the rotating mirror. By locating the laser and the camera at axi-symmetrical positions around the mirror, the synchronized-scan condition could be satisfied even when the mirror was set to rotate through one direction continuously, which could remove the inertia effect of the conventional oscillating-mirror methods. The mathematical modelling of the proposed sensor with the optical triangulation method made it possible to derive the relation between the position of an image on the camera and the one of a laser light on the object. By using the derived relation, the field of view and the resolution of the sensor could be also calculated. Through the geometrical simulation of the proposed sensor with the principal of reflection and virtual image, the optical path of a laser light could be predicted. The position and direction of the CCD camera were determined based on the Scheimpflug's condition to fit the focus of any image reflected from an object within the field of view. The results of modelling and simulation revealed that the proposed visual sensor could be used to recognize 3-dimensional objects and also used to measure distance to the objects within the range of the field of view and the resolution.

        플라즈마 용사층에 발생하는 응력해석

        The formation of thermal stresses by plasma spraying is generally considered as adverse. Therefore, the knowledge of stress distribution in the deposited layer during and after plasma spraying will be of special interest. In this study finite difference heat transfer analysis and finite element stress analysis were carried out to predict the change of stress distribution in the plasma coated layer with the variations of preheat temperature, number of scan, particle size, and bond coat. The results of the numerical analysis were as follows: 1) Transient stresses developed in the coated layer were up to the level of yiedl strength at the temperature. 2) The tensile stresses were developed in the deposited layer and the surface of the substrate, but the compressive stresses were developed in the rest of the substrate. 3) Transient and residual stresses were significantly affected by the preheat temperature. 4) The variations of temperature of powder particle and number of torch scan changed tensile stress distribution, but made no difference on the magnitude of the stresses. 5) Bond coated layer reduced the stree level of deposited layer.
