The truss bridge is composed of numerous steel beams. In long span bridges the size of beams is getting larger, so the number of plate girders is increasing instead of rolled beams. This plate girder has long welding lines at the intersection of steel plates. The improper welding at the intersection line causes the steel bridge to be structurally unsafe. In this paper the loss of member section from improper welding was measured and the experimental testing was performed to get the S-N curve from testing models with sectional losses. The improper welding resulted in the lowering of structural safety and the shortening of life cycle.

The PSC beams are closed embeding PS tendons at the bottom flange of I-beam by precast half panels. The stiffness of box structure gets larger and the PS force at half panels makes a time-dependent upward camber of superstructures. The superstructure becomes a second composite structure composed of 3 elements-PSC beam, RC slab, PSC panel. The reinforcing effect of modified structure of PSC beams is reliablly analyzed and the probability of failure and the reliablity index are evaluated in this study.

The Act on Safety Management of Social Assets was established on 1995 and revised on 1999 to relieve maintenance cost of managing offices. The provision for load bearing test before opening was deleted and the number of load bearing test after opening was reduced in the Revised Act on 1999. The effect of revision is the main concern in this study. 176 technical reports on load bearing test of long span bridges are analyzed. The results show that various structural defects are inherent in recent bridges constructed since 1995. So the preservation of provisions deleted in original act is needed up to now.

The purpose of this study is to develop the analytical method and to analyze the geometrically nonlinear behavior of suspension bridges. Two step algorithm is developed to analyze the initial profile under the deal load and the nonlinearity under the live load. Since the geometrically nonlinear effect is great comparing with the linear analysis, it should be considered in the analysis and design. The comparison between analysis and measurement shows that the new algorithm is effective. 현수교의 기하학적 비선형거동을 해석할 수 있는 해석방법을 개발하고 해석을 실시하였다. 해석은 사하중하에서의 초기형상해석과 활하중하에서의 비선형해석의 2단계로 해석하는 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 선형해석 결과와 비선형해석결과를 비교할 때 기하학적인 비선형 효고가 매우 크므로 해석 및 설계시에 반드시 고려해야 함을 알 수 있다. 해석치와 측정치를 비교분석한 결과 새로운 알고리즘이 매우 유용함을 보여주고 있다.

A fire disaster is very serious in the closing space like subway station. In this study, the simulation on fire diffusion is performed to get the temperature history curve, which is used for the fire resisting structural analysis. Most of subway stations are built by the reinforced concrete structure, but recently steel structures are selected for the larger space or beauty. Steel structures relatively have more weaknesses against fire, so it is necessary to develop the method for evaluating fire-resisting capacity in this kind of structures. The developed method is applied to the subway station in Daegu city. It shows that the developed method can be used to simulate the fire disaster and to get the temperature history curve and evaluate the safety of steel structures against the fire

Numerous PSC bridges are stregthened by the combined use of continuity of simple spans and addition of external prestressing. In this case prestressing sequences should be carefully checked due to the effect on the stress and camber of girders and slab. Various prestressing sequences were applied in this field test and measured values were analysed. This results show that preatressing sequences affact the stress and deflection of bridge members, so the prestressing sequence should be considered at the desist and construction stages of deteriorated bridges.

국내의 경우 1988년에 건축물에 대한 내진설계기준이 제정되어 대형건축물에 대한 내진설계가 의무화되고 있으나, 도로교에 대해서는 아직 체계적인 연구나 설계방법이 도입되지 않고 있는 실정이다. 그러나 최근 국내에 건설된 올림픽대교, 팔당대교, 강동대교와 과거에 건설된 남해대교, 돌산교 등에서 미국이나 일본의 설계기준을 참조하여 내진해석을 실시한 바 있고, 앞으로 건설될 대형고량에 내진설계가 보편화될 것이 예상되는 바, 지진의 다발지역인 미국 캘리포니아주의 내진설계법과 지진의 피해가 다소 경미한 지역을 대상으로 한 미국의 도로교시방서(AAS HTO제정)의 내진설계법을 소개하고자 한다.

탄성계수의 확률분포를 고려한 트러스 구조물의 유한요소 해석을 수행하였다. 탄생계수의 분포함수를 이용한 형상함수를 유도하여 강성행열을 구성하고 Monte Carlo Simulation 기법을 이용하여 수치해석을 수행하였다. 공간 트러스 구조물 해석을 통해서 해석과정을 검증하고 사장교에서 케이블 장력의 변동폭을 예측하였다. Finite element analyses are conducted with stochastic elastic moduli when truss structures are subjected to static loads of a deterministic nature. Stochastic stiffness matrix is derived from stochastic shape functions and numerical analyses are performed within the framework of the Monte Carlo method. Analysis methods are verified for the space truss and applied to cable stayed bridge for determining the cable force.
