Prevention Strategies for Secondary Victimization of Sexual Harassment Victims in the Workplace

Most Korean organizations and companies have tried to solve the sexual harassment problem through compulsory sexual harassment prevention education and formal grievance handling procedures. Nevertheless, many women still say they have been sexually harassed at work. Moreover, secondary victimization of sexual harassment in the workplace has been reported constantly. After the damage, sexual harassment victims at work experience negative experiences such as mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, guilt, suicidal thoughts, and overall stress. This affects not only individual problems but also organizations. The strategies to prevent secondary victimization of sexual harassment in the workplace are as follows. First, laws, policies and agencies related to secondary victimization of sexual harassment in the workplace should be unified. Second, the victim and supporters must be actively protected. Third, it is necessary to train a dedicated supervisor with expertise in handling sexual harassment and gender discrimination cases in the workplace. Fourth, Specific guidelines for secondary victimization of sexual harassment in the workplace should be prepared. Fifth, a gender equality in the workplace culture should be created.

직장 내 성희롱 피해자의 2차 피해 실태 및 대응방안에 관한 연구

과거와 달리 미투(Metoo)운동의 영향으로 성희롱 피해에 적극 대응하는 등 사회적 변화가 이루어지고 있으나 직장 내 성희롱 사건의 경우 소속기관의 부적절한 대응과 사건 은폐 등 가해자에 대한 처벌은 소극적으로 이루어져 도리어 사건화 한 것에 대한 후회나 사건 진행을 중도 포기하는 사례가 빈번하게 나타나 문제가 되고 있다. 이 연구는 직장 내 성희롱 사건에 대한 2차 피해에 대한 이해를 높이고, 법률과 정책적 대응방안이 실효성을 가질 수 있도록 실제 피해자와의 인터뷰를 통해 직장 내 성희롱 발생 후 겪게 되는 2차 피해에 대한 문제 상황을 분석하였다. 그 결과 2차 피해 문제에 대한 대응방안에 대하여 첫째, 조직 내부적 차원에서는 ① 가해자 징계의 확실성 보장 ② 피해자 보호 및 지원 강화 ③ 조직문화 개선 ④ 2차 피해 지침 마련과 공지 ⑤ 고충처리부서와 고충처리담당인력의 전문성 함양 ⑥ 연계시스템 구축을 둘째, 조직 외부적 차원에서는 ① 언론보도에 의한 2차 피해 방지를 위한 제도 수립 ② 외부기관의 모니터링으로 제안하였다. 이 연구를 통해 향후 피해자 보호에 대한 실질적 대응에 도움이 되길 기대하며, 이 연구는 대응방안 발전을 위해 후속 연구들의 토대연구로 2차 피해에 대한 이슈를 재조명하는데 의의를 둔다.

MSG 첨가 비율을 달리한 섬애약쑥(Artemisia argyi H) 식혜의 유산균 발효에 따른 이화학적 특성

For the production of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) contents increased Seomaeyaksuk fermentant, 0, 0.25, 0.5 and 1.0% of monosodium galutamate (MSG) was added in Seomaeyaksuk water extract 15% contained Sikhye and inoculated with Lactobacillus brevis (KI271266). Physicochemical properties were sampling and analyzed at each 1 day during 3 days fermentation. Goes on fermentation periods, the turbidity was gradually reduced, but lightness and the yellowness was increased, redness was decreased. Soluble solid was also decreased. The reducing sugars content were also decreased during fermentation. pH was 4.65-4.83 before fermentation but it was lower 3.15-3.68 after three days fermentation. The GABA contents increased by fermentation periods and it was the highest in MSG 1.0% added sample (354.38 mg/L). Fructose, glucose and sucrose contents were 50-67% decreased at three days fermentation than before fermentation. Among the organic acids, propionic acid, oxalic acid, citric acid and fumaric acid contents were decreased and lactic acid, acetic acid and succinic acid were increased during fermentation periods. Contents of total polyphenol and DPPH radical scavenging activity were the highest in MSG 0.5% added sample. From these results, we confirmed that increasing of GABA content when the manufacturing of Seomaeyaksuk lactic acid fermentation product, is possibile by addition of MSG without affecting physicochemical characteristics.
