Background: 2.7% sorbitol-0.54% mannitol has been selected as an alternative irrigating fluid during endoscopic surgery for its theoretical advantages. We compared the influence of 2.7% sorbitol-0.54% mannitol (UrosolTM, CJ Pharma, Seoul, Korea) and 5% glucose as an irrigating solution for hysteroscopic myomectomy & polypectomy in the occurrence of associated complications. Methods: Thirty patients scheduled for a hysteroscopic operation were included in a prospective randomized trial comparing 2.7% sorbitol-0.54% mannitol solution (Group S, n = 15) and 5% glucose (Group G, n = 15) as an irrigating fluid. We recorded the amount of the irrigating fluids, the amount of fluid intake, and the duration of the procedure. Serum sodium, chloride, potassium, glucose values, and serum osmolality were measured before (just after the induction, T1), during (when 2 L of irrigation fluid was infused, T2), and after (1 h after the end of the operation, T3)the hysteroscopic procedure. Results: The mean volume of absorbed irrigating fluid was 185.0 ± 73.5 ml in Group G and 175.4 ± 50.5 ml in Group S. Transient hyperglycemia occurred in one patient of Group G. No differences were found in the intraoperative and postoperative levels of serum sodium, potassium, chloride, glucose and osmolality in both groups. Conclusions: There was no clinical evidence of hyponatremic hypoosmolality in any of the patients. We found no difference between 2.7% sorbitol-0.54% mannitol and 5% glucose as an irrigating fluid for hysteroscopic procedures with mild to moderate irrigant absorption.

A 73 year-old man was admitted to our hospital because of septic shock. He had undergone drug eluting stent (DES) insertion 40 days before this admission. After about 50 days in the hospital, a coccyx sore required a flap operation. The anticoagulation therapy (aspirin and clopidogrel) was then changed to LMWH. Eleven days after this change, he developed very severe chest pain. The emergency coronary angiography showed occlusion of the left anterior descending artery, left circumflex artery, and right coronary artery due to thrombosis. During the angiography procedure, his heart collapsed. We performed cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), but were unsuccessful. Patients in very high risk groups need special attention during peri-operative periods. Doctors must have full knowledge about the different anticoagulation strategies, and cooperation among the different clinical departments is needed to properly treat these high risk patients.

공간정보를 기반으로 하고 있는 GIS가 행정업무 처리와 대민서비스 향상을 위한 핵심 수단으로 활용됨에 따라 지방자치단체의 GIS도입 및 확산이 급속히 이루어지고 있다. 최근의 급속한 GIS활용 확산에도 불구하고, 중대도시에 비하여 농촌과 지방소도시의 지리정보기반은 아직도 크게 미흡하다. 지리정보기반의 지역간 수준격차는 공공행정서비스의 질적 수준 격차는 물론 궁극적으로 지역간 사회경제 격차를 심화시키는 요인이 된다. 이 연구는 지리정보기반 개념을 규정하고 우리나라의 수도권과 비수도권 등의 지역 및 지자체 유형별 지리정보기반 수준의 격차수준을 분석하였다. 그리고 이러한 지리정보기반 수준의 지역간 격차요인을 검토하고 특히 지리정보기반이 취약한 지방소도시 및 군부지역의 지리정보기반 강화방안을 제시하였다. Geographic information systems are the crucial means in local governments to improve the diverse internal operations or service to citizens. A eat number of local governments have introduced GIS. However in spite of the rapid spread of GIS projects in local governments there are severe level differences of Geographic Information Infrastructure between medium or large cities and small cities or counties(Gun), especially in non-capital area. The differences are one of the main reasons of regional inequalities in local governments'administrative services. Thus this article suggested that the central government should place policy emphasis on improving the levels of geographic information infrastructure in small cities, counties(Gun) and especially non-capital areas.
대륜계통의 적색 다수성 반겹꽃 거베라 신품종 ‘Red Velvet’

A new gerbera cultivar known as ‘Red Velvet’ was bred by the National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science in 2015. The scarlet-flowered cultivar ‘Rose’ with a semi-double flower type and green center and the red-flowered cultivar ‘Sabana’ with a semi-double flower type and dark center were crossed from October 2007 to February 2008. Among 187 offspring from this cross, ‘Red Velvet’ was selected, especially for cut flower production after investigating the phenotypic characteristics for eight years (2008–2015). ‘Red Velvet’ is a vigorous standard gerbera cultivar with brilliant red flowers (RHS R45B) and brown center disc florets; it is a semi-double flower type. Its average flower diameter is 12.6 ± 0.5 cm, and its inner ray floret and disc floret diameters are 5.7 ± 0.3 cm and 2.8 ± 0.2 cm, respectively. It has a thick peduncle width, with upper and lower parts being 5.4 ± 0.4 mm and 7.8 ± 0.7 mm, respectively; its long peduncle height is 60.0 ± 8.1 cm. The vase life of ‘Red Velvet’ is 9.8 ± 2.3 days, similar to the standard cultivar. It is a high-yielding cultivar, with an average yield of 48.3 ± 4.8 stems per plant. 국립원예특작과학원에서는 2015년 거베라 신품종 ‘Red Velvet’ 을 육성하였다. ‘Red Velvet’은 2007년 10월부터 2008년 2월까지 주홍색 반겹꽃 스탠다드 거베라 ‘Rose’와 적색 반겹꽃 ‘Sabana’를 각각 모본과 부본으로 인공교배하여 얻은 187개체의 교배실생 분리집단으로부터 2008년부터 2015년까지 8년 동안의 개화 및 생육특성검정을 거쳐 선발된 절화용 스탠다드 거베라 품종이다. ‘Red Velvet’은 초세 강건한 갈색 화심의 적색(RHS R45B) 반겹꽃 대륜계통이다. 꽃의 평균 직경은 12.6±0.5cm이고, 내부설상화 및 통상화의 직경은 각각 5.7±0.3cm와 2.8±0.2cm이다. 꽃대는 꽃목직경이 상부 5.4±0.4mm, 중부 7.8±0.7mm 정도로 굵으며, 화경장은 60.0±8.1cm로 길다. 절화수명은 9.8±2.3일로 대조품 종과 비슷하며, 연간 채화량은 48.3±4.8본/주로 많은 다수성 품종이다.
