      • 장서각 도서의 표장직물에 관한 고찰

        The characteristics of the emblem cloths of the collected books in the Jang-seo-gak has been studied. The books investigated in this study belonged to the royal household of the Chosun dynasty and the emblem cloths were composed of high quality silk in those times. All the emblem cloths were woven with top-grade silk yarn with luster. The emblem cloths can be grouped in plain weave and satin weave. The satin weave, especially the satin with satin weave were preferred. The density of the plain woven silk were 29~40 ply/㎝. The yarn used for the satin had generally thicker warp than weft and the densities of the warp and weft ranged 28~89 ply/㎝ and 22~39 ply/㎝, respectively. The cloths with motif among the emblem cloths of the Jang-seo-gak were mostly satin, as expected from the trend during Chosun dynasty that the twill has been gradually switched to satin, which reflect the general status of the textile industry of that period. The color or the motif emblem cloths were irrelevant to the character or contents. The motif of the emblem cloths comprised mainly flower, peach, pomergranate, horned orange, and cloud. The studied emblem cloths are the precious references showing the dyeing and weaving technique for the royal family which is top class in the Chosun dynasty.

        Changes in Growth and Reproductive Strategy of Disporum smilacinum in Canopy Gap and Closed Canopy Areas

        Disporum smilacinum A. Gray is a typical monocarpic pseudo-annual plant which is distributed under forest canopy in the East Asia. D. smilacinum reproduces both vegetatively and sexually although its population size is mainly increased by rhizomes. We investigated the morphological characteristics and reproductive strategy of D. smilacinum in gap and under closed canopy sites to evaluate the effects of changes in light condition on the population dynamics of shade-adapted D. smilacinum. Shoot densities, number of leaves, number of flowering shoots, shoot length, rhizome length and biomass of individual organs of D. smilacinum were compared between gap and closed canopy sites which were located adjacent to each other. Whole plant biomass, rhizome biomass and the number of flowering shoots of D. smilacinum in gap were significantly lower than those under closed canopy (P < 0.05), while root/shoot ratio in gap sites was higher than that under closed canopy, indicating that canopy gap decreased growth and sexual reproduction of D. smilacinum. Spatial autocorrelation using spatial distribution of morphological characteristics showed that the size of aggregates of individuals with similar morphological characteristics was larger under closed canopy than in gap sites. Increased light by gap brings about stressful condition to shade-adapted D. smilacinum, reducing growth, population productivity and sexual reproduction.

        Characterization of an Extracytoplasmic Chaperone Spy in Protecting Salmonella against Reactive Oxygen/Nitrogen Species

        Antimicrobial actions of reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (ROS/RNS) derived from products of NADPH oxidase and inducible nitric oxide (NO) synthase in host phagocytes inactivate various bacterial macromolecules. To cope with these cytotoxic radicals, pathogenic bacteria have evolved to conserve systems necessary for detoxifying ROS/RNS and repairing damages caused by their actions. In response to these stresses, bacteria also induce expression of molecular chaperones to aid in ameliorating protein misfolding. In this study, we explored the function of a newly identified chaperone Spy, that is localized exclusively in the periplasm when bacteria exposed to conditions causing spheroplast formation, in the resistance of Salmonella Typhimurium to ROS/RNS. A spy deletion mutant was constructed in S. Typhimurium by a PCR-mediated method of one-step gene inactivation with λ Red recombinase, and subjected to ROS/RNS stresses. The spy mutant Salmonella showed a modest decrease in growth rate in NO-producing cultures, and no detectable difference of growth rate in H2O2 containing cultures, compared with that of wild type Salmonella. Quantitative RT-PCR analysis showed that spy mRNA levels were similar regardless of both stresses, but were increased considerably in Salmonella mutants lacking the flavohemoglobin Hmp, which are incapable of NO detoxification, and lacking an alternative sigma factor RpoS, conferring hypersusceptibility to H2O2. Results demonstrate that Spy expression can be induced under extreme conditions of both stresses, and suggest that the protein may have supportive roles in maintaining proteostasis in the periplasm where various chaperones may act in concert with Spy, thereby protecting bacteria against toxicities of ROS/RNS.

        상원사 목조문수보살좌상 복장직물의 특성과 편년 고찰

        Sangwaonsa Temple, located in Jinbu-myeon, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do, a Wooden Seated Child Manjusri and a Wooden Seated Manjusri Bodhisattva are enshrined side by side in the temple's Moonsu-jeon. The Wooden Seated Manjusri Bodhisattva is wearing a jeweled crown and is holding the stem of a lotus flower; an unusual form among Buddhist statues. The statue contained many Buddhist articles as well as a written record including information that the statue was built in 1661. According to the record, a court lady with the name of Byeon Myeo Ryeon has taken a major part in the offering. Other than the record, there were books and Huryeongtong articles, all have been collectively designated as treasure No. 1811. The Huryeongtong was not opened until July 9th, 2017 when textiles and grain found inside the artifact. The articles found in the Wooden Seated Manjusri Bodhisattva were textiles used for Obobyeong (five Bobyeongs), made from 11 types of textiles, one compound weave, six till weave, four satin weave pieces, all more expensive than plain woven silk. All used weaving techniques seen in textile articles produced around 1661 the order of production and was not through the weave. Therefore, patterns on the textiles were reviewed and were found consistent with patterns used in the 17th century, and thus the articles inside the Wooden Seated Manjusri Bodhisattva presumed to be the first articles inserted in a Buddhist statue during a construction. The Huryeongtong of the Wooden Seated Manjusri Bodhisattva should have also held Obobyeong in it. The Obobyeong holds the meaning of the five elements but were found to contain six. The east and west Bobyeongs were the only ones that were complete, the rest were mixed. When the Bobyeongs were rearranged according to the textile type and weave, there were six of them, and the Bobyeongs signifying North had excess pieces. We can assume that the Obobyeongs of the Huryeongtong was opened during the disassembly of the Buddhist articles stored in Buddha's statue, and was then inaccurately rearranged reinserted. In the color analysis of the fabric, there is a slight difference in the color measured by the naked eye and the color measured by the color difference meter. Gold thread is mainly composed of gold, and is made by mixing various materials such as carbon, silicon, aluminum, and silver. 강원도 평창군 진부면에 위치한 상원사 문수전의 불감(佛龕) 내에는 목조문수동자상 과 목조문수보살좌상이 나란히 봉안되어 있는데 이 중 문수보살좌상은 화려한 보관을 착용하고 연꽃가지를 들고 있는 보기 드문 조형성을 지닌 불상이다. 이 불상 안에서 많은 복장물과 함께 1661년에 조성되었다는 발원문이 발견되었는데 발원문에 의하면 상궁 변묘련이 대시주로 참가하다고 한다. 발원문 외에 전적류와 후령통 등 복장유물 은 2014년에 일괄 보물 제1811호로 지정되었는데 후령통 내부는 해체되지 않은 상태 다. 이후 2017년 6월 9일 복장유물 가운데 당시까지 개봉하지 않았던 후령통을 해체 하여 그 안에 직물과 곡물 등이 납입되어 있는 것이 확인되었다. 문수보살좌상의 복장직물은 보자기를 비롯하여 오보병으로 사용된 직물들인데 총 11종류이며 중조직 1, 능직 6, 수자직 4점으로 구성되어 있고 모두 평직의 비단보다는 값비싼 직물들이다. 복장직물들은 문수보살좌상이 조성된 1661년 전후의 복장직물에서 보이는 직물의 조직기법을 모두 사용하고 있었으므로 조직의 특징으로 편년을 구분하기 는 어려웠다. 따라서 직물에 표현된 무늬를 검토해본 결과 17세기에 사용된 직물인 것으 로 확인되었다. 문수보살좌상의 후령통 안에는 5방위를 의미하는 오보병이 안립되어야 하나 해체한 결과 6개가 들어있었으며, 동쪽과 서쪽에 해당하는 보병만 제대로 갖추고 있고 나머지는 혼재되어 있었다. 보병을 직물의 조직별, 종류별로 재구성하여 보니 6종 류로 분류되는데 북쪽에 해당하는 보병이 제대로 구성되어 있지 않았으며 3점이 추가된 상태다. 그러므로 추가된 3점을 제외하고 다른 오보병은 불상 조성 시에 최초로 납입 되었고 이후 재복장할 때에 오보병의 납입 규례에 맞지 않게 납입했던 것으로 추정되나 언제 재복장이 이루어졌는지는 확인할 수 없다. 직물의 색채분석에서는 육안으로 보이는 색과 색차계에 의해 측정한 색이 약간의 차 이가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 그리고 직금단의 금사는 주성분은 금이고 탄소, 규소, 알루미늄, 그리고 은 등의 다양한 부재료를 혼합하여 제작한 것으로 확인되었다.

        유가의 도덕적 자유에 관한 연구

        이 글은 유가 철학의 도덕적 자유를 현대의 자유라는 개념을 통해서 논의 하고, 유교의 도덕적 행동에 자유가 있다는 가정 하에서 자유개념의 적용을 시도한 다. 이 글에서는 논어(論語) , 맹자(孟子) , 중용(中庸) 등을 통해, 한 개인이 스 스로 자신의 삶에서 새로운 의미를 찾아서 스스로의 뜻을 정리할 수 있는 긍정적 인 차원에서의 자유를 탐구하고 이것이 유가 안에서 어떻게 실현될 수 있는지를 고찰한다. 자유 개념을 이해하기 위해 먼저 이 개념의 일반적인 이해에서 시작해서, 자유로운 행동을 위한 전제조건으로 자발성은 유가철학 안에서 충분히 전제할 수 있음을 논의한다. 이를 통해서 유가의 인간은 도덕적 행동을 실천할 수 있는 근거 를 가진다. 또한 개인적 선택의 측면 뿐 아니라 사회적인 관계 안에서의 개인들이 소통할 수 있는 능동적 수단인 ‘서(恕)'를 통해 인간의 자유가 공동체 안에서 성립 가능함을 제시한다.

        Imbalance of Gut Streptococcus, Clostridium, and Akkermansia Determines the Natural Course of Atopic Dermatitis in Infant

        Purpose: The roles of gut microbiota on the natural course of atopic dermatitis (AD) are not yet fully understood. We investigated whether the composition and function of gut microbiota and short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) at 6 months of age could affect the natural course of AD up to 24 months in early childhood. Methods: Fecal samples from 132 infants were analyzed using pyrosequencing, including 84 healthy controls, 22 transient AD and 26 persistent AD subjects from the Cohort for Childhood Origin of Asthma and Allergic Diseases (COCOA) birth cohort. The functional profile of the gut microbiome was analyzed by whole-metagenome sequencing. SCFAs were measured using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Results: Low levels of Streptococcus and high amounts of Akkermansia were evident in transient AD cases, and low Clostridium, Akkermansia and high Streptococcus were found in children with persistent AD. The relative abundance of Streptococcus positively correlated with scoring of AD (SCORAD) score, whereas that of Clostridium negatively correlated with SCORAD score. The persistent AD group showed decreased gut microbial functional genes related to oxidative phosphorylation compared with healthy controls. Butyrate and valerate levels were lower in transient AD infants compared with healthy and persistent AD infants. Conclusions: Compositions, functions and metabolites of the early gut microbiome are related to natural courses of AD in infants.

        金에 파견된 高麗使臣의 사행로와 사행여정

        This study paid attention to what the Korean academic circles don't have interest in its moving route, in the face of which Goryeo had dispatched envoys to the Jin Dynasty every year for about 100 years. Thus, the aim was to clarify the route, moving period, and process from Goryeo to the Jin Dynasty. However, there were almost no data that will directly clarify this. Thus, it referred to the data related to the Song(宋) dynasty, the Southern Song dynasty, and Xia(夏) and the data in its next period. The capital of the Jin Dynasty was Shangjing(上京:around Harbin), but transferred the capital to Zhongdu(中都:Beijing) in 1153. Due to this, the Goryeo envoys moved to Shangjing before 1153 and to Zhongdu after then. This study examined in detail by classifying the route by which the Goryeo envoys would pass into Gaegyeong(開京)~Dongjing(東京)(A), Dongjing(東京)~Shangjing(上京)(B), Dongjing(東京)~Yuguan(楡關)(C①), Yuguan(楡關)~Zhongdu(中都)(C②), and then proposed a map. This was the most important work in this study. Also, it analyzed data that are confirmed both the departure from Goryeo and the arrival in the Jin Dynasty, and then confirmed that both the moving time of going to Shangjing from Gaegyeong and the moving time of going to Zhongdu took averagely 49 days and that it took 30 days when there was urgent business. And it was expected for which the Jin Dynasty would greet the Goryeo envoys by directly sending Jiebanshi(接伴使) as an envoy who welcomes when the Goryeo envoys arrive in Posufu(婆速府) by crossing over the Aprokgang River, and would give a party 2~3 until arriving in the capital. This study is expected to be likely conducive to researching into the international relationship in Goryeo and into the overseas traffic route.
