예술에 대한 인간의 표현 욕구는 인간 내면의 욕망과 자아 및 다양한 미적가치를 수용하고 변화하면서,독특한 예술 영역을 구축하였다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 인간 내면의 표출심리와 현실세계를 밀접하게 연결하고 있는 환상성에 주목하고, 미술과 패션에 나타난 환상성의 표현유형과 특성을 고찰하여, 예술과 패션의 기저에 자리 잡은 환상성의 중요성을 재인식하고자 하였다. 이를 통해 예술가에게 풍부한 상상력과 새로운 표현영역으로의 미적가치를 생성 하는데 도움이 되고자 한다. 연구의 방법은 환상성에 관한 이론적연구와 환상성이 함의된 예술과 패션의 사례분석을 통한 실증적 연구를 병행하였다. 연구의 범위는 환상미술의 태동이 시작된 낭만주의 미술부터 현대미술까지 고찰하였고, 패션의 사례분석은 2005 S/S부터2014 F/W까지의 프레타포르테(Pret-a-Porter)와 오뜨꾸뛰르 컬렉션(Haute Couture Collection)을 중심으로, 환상성이 수용된 작품 총 344장을 표본 추출하여 표현유형과 특성을 심층 분석하였다. 연구의 결과, 미술에 반영된 환상성의 표현유형과 특성은 인간 내면의 본질탐구, 이질적 이미지의 상호 병존에 의한 차이형성, 무의식 세계의 표출을 통한 비가시성의 가시화, 예술과 비예술의 탈경계성으로 규정되었다. 패션에 반영된 환상성의 표현유형은 네거티브 이미지로 표현된몸의 타자성, 공간·시각·소재에 의한 차이형성, 무의식 세계의 표출을 통한 인간의 사고영역 확장, 경계의 해체·변형 등으로 분석되었다. 이상의 고찰을 통해, 미술과 패션에서의 환상성은 인간 내면의 억압된 욕망이 소외된 주체로서의 욕망으로 회복을 유도하는 예술 표현유형의 중요한 요소임을 재인식 할 수 있었다. 또한 환상성은 예술과 패션의 기저에 새로운 시각을 제공하여 표현영역을 확장시키고 있음을 알 수 있었다. Human desire of expression towards art has established a special territory of art, by accepting human inner desire, self, and various esthetic value and changing. Thus, the purpose of this study is to reconsider the importance of fantasy established at the base of art and fashion by focusing on fantasy closely connecting human internal expressed psychology and the real world and examining the representation type and characteristics of fantasy shown in art and fashion. Through this, we are to help artists to create a fertile imagination and the aesthetic value as a new representation area. As the research method, the researcher conducted theoretical research on fantasy in parallel with empirical study through the case analysis of art and fashion which reflected fantasy. As the research range, the researcher considered romantic art which was the beginning of fantasy art until the modern art, and in respect of case analysis of fashion, conducted in-depth analysis of expression type and characteristic mainly with Pret-a-Porter and Haute Couture Collection from 2005 S/S until 2014 F/W by sampling total 344 works which accepted fantasy. As the research result, expression type and characteristic of the fantastic reflected in art was divided into search for essence within human, difference caused by mutual coexistence of disparate image, visualization of invisibility through the expression of unconscious world, and de-boundary of art and non-art. Expression type and characteristic of the fantastic reflected in fashion was analyzed as the otherness of body expressed in negative image, difference by space· vision·material, expansion of human thinking scope through the expression of unconscious world, and the deconstructivity and transformation of boundary. The above review enabled us to reconsider that fantasy in art and fashion is an important element of artistic expression types causing the human internal oppressed desire to recover desire as the marginalized subject. It could be also seen that fantasy is extending its expression area variously by providing a new perspective to the base of art and fashion.

장 샤를르 드 카스텔바작(Jean-Charles de Castelbajac) 패션컬렉션에 나타난 표현유형과 특성

본 연구는 장 샤를르 드 카스텔바작의 작품 세계를 알아보고, 이를 바탕으로 장 샤를르 드 카스텔바작 패션컬렉션에 나타난 표현유형과 특성을 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 연구방법은 장 샤를르 드 카스텔바작 패션컬렉션과 관련된 국내·외 서적 및 선행연구와 관련기사를 중심으로 고찰하였다. 연구범위는 장 샤를르 드 카스텔바작패션컬렉션에 나타난 표현유형과 특성을 실증적으로 분석하기 위해 2000 S/S부터 2013 S/S까지의 프레타포르테(Pret-a-Porter)와 오뜨꾸뛰르 컬렉션(Haute Couture Collection) 중 장 샤를르 드 카스텔바작 패션컬렉션에 나타난 표현유형과 특성이 나타난 작품 총 246점을 선정하여 분석하였다. 또한 사진자료의 경우 시각 자료분석의 정확성을 위해 선정된 246점이 수록된 Mode etMode, Gap, Fashion News 등 국내·외 패션 컬렉션지와 인터넷 사이트인 스타일닷컴(www.style.com)과삼성디자인넷(www.samsungdesign.net) 및 동영상 사이트인 유튜브(www.youtube.com) 등을 참고로 하였다. 연구 결과, 장 샤를르 드 카스텔바작 패션컬렉션에 나타난 표현유형은 자연물의 이미지를 활용한 표현, 초현실주의 표현방식의 차용, 팝아트 표현방식의 차용, 표식을 활용한 상징적인 표현, 캐릭터 표현기법의 활용 등으로 구분되었으며, 이를 통해 독창적인 디자인전개가 되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 분석의 결과, 장 샤를르 드 카스텔바작 패션디자인의 표현특성은 자연성, 초현실성, 팝아트성, 상징성, 유희성으로 구분되었다. 본 연구를 통해 장 샤를르 드 카스텔바작 패션컬렉션에 나타난 표현유형과 이에 내재된 특성이 현대 패션에서 대중적인 디자인을 특징짓는 요인으로 작용하고 있음을 밝히고, 본 연구가 향후 패션과 예술이 갖는 지나친 엄격함에서 탈피하여 대중과 소통할 수 있는 통로를 마련하고, 다양한 패션디자인의 아이디어 개발 및 창작 영역 확대를 위한 기초자료를 준비하는데 도움을 주고자 한다. This research seeks to study the art works of Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and analyze the expression types and characteristics shown in his fashion collection. The study method of the present research is mainly to examine internal and external books, previous researches and relevant articles related to the fashion collection of Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. For a more empirical analysis on his fashion collection expression types and characteristics, the author selected 246 pieces of his works showing his expression types and characteristics of the Pr.t-a-Porter and Haute Couture Collection works from 2000 S/S to 2013 S/S. Also, as for photographs, for the accuracy of visual material analysis, the author studied domestic and foreign fashion collection magazines including Mode et Mode, Gap, Fashion News, etc. as well as wep pages such as www.style.com, www.samsung-design.net, and videopostingwebpae, www.youtube.com. As a result of this research examination, it was found that the expression described in Jean-Charles de Castelbajac had utilized natural object images, surrealistic expression methods or pop-art expression method, some signs for symbolic expression and character expression techniques for creative design development. These research findings characterize Jean-Charles de Castelbajac’s fashion collection as natural, surreal, pop-art, symbolic, and playful. In this study, demonstrating the expression types and characteristics embedded in Jean-Charles de Castelbajac’s fashion design is being characterized as the main factor of the popular design in modern fashion, and this research is to build a pathways to communicate with the public for the future of fashion and art by moving away from excessive strictness in them, and contribute to prepare the basic materials for development of diverse fashion design idea and expansion of creative working area.

본 연구는 미술에 나타난 환상성의 개념을 토대로 현대 패션컬렉션에 표현된 환상성을 분석하고, 환상성을 통한 패션의 표현 영역 확대를 밝히는데 목적이 있다. 연구방법은 문헌연구와 사례연구를 중심으로 진행되었다. 연구대상은 미술의 경우 환상미술의 태동기인 르네상스부터 현대까지, 현대 패션에 표현된 환상성의 사례연구 범위는 패션에서 환상성이 두드러지게 나타나기 시작한 2006년부터 2016년을 중심으로 하였다. 패션컬렉션에 표현된 환상성은 은유와 환유, 차이를 통한 의미의 재정의, 타자성, 탈경계성으로 분류할 수있었다. 패션에 표현된 은유와 환유는 오브제에 의한 연상 작용과 초현실적인 이미지의 차용으로 나타났고, 차이를 통한 의미의 재정의는 패션에서 공간의 차이와 소재의 차이로 분류되었다. 공간의 차이는 소재의 팽창, 휘기, 접기 등의 변형과정을 통해 신체와 의복간 공간의 차이로 나타났으며, 소재의 차이는 예술가의 창조적 의도에 따른 소재의 차이에서 나타났다. 패션에서 타자성은 타자화된 신체, 초월적인 변신성, 바이오메카노이드로 나타났다. 탈경계성은 패션과 타장르의 혼재, 시⋅공간 초월성의 공유로 나타났다. 또한 2006년부터 2016년까지 패션컬렉션에서 환상성이 증가하고 있는 것은 불안정한 사회⋅경제적 현실에서 도피처로 대중이 환상패션을 향유함으로써 패션 표현 영역의 확장이 이루어졌기 때문으로 보인다. 이러한 결과는 패션과 미술에 나타난 환상성의 가치를 재인식하고, 패션디자이너에게 풍부한 영감의 원천과 더불어 창조적인 표현 영역을 제시하는데 일조할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. This thesis aims to investigate the Fantastic phenomenon shown in the contemporary fashion collections and elucidate how far the field of fashion has extended in this area in terms of those characteristics easily observed in the artworks of the paintings. The method of this study was by theoretical review and case studies. The paintings from the renaissance, started to be found of fantastic nature until those of the modern ages were reviewed. The fashion from 2006 until 2016, remarkable in the fantastic expressions were selected as the sources for the case studies. Those of the fantastic ones in the fashion collections could be categorized as the metaphor & metonymy, redefinition of the meaning through difference and beyond the border. In the metaphor & metonymy, the association mechanics with the objects and induction of the images of the transcendence come to be occurred. Meaning of the differences deals with space and materials, the first one is the measuring distance between the body and the clothing by the expansion, bending and folding of the materials of which the meaning were examined as well. The other ones were deducted from the interaction between the kinds of the materials and creativity of the artists. The alienation in the fashion could be exemplified as the otherness as bodies projection to transcendence and biomechanoid. The borderless could appear as the coexistence of the fashion and other genres with sharing the transcendence in space and time. The increased fantastic phenomenon in fashion collections from 2006 to 2016 might be attributed to enjoy the fantasy and as a means for the escape from the unstable society and economic situation. Conclusively, this thesis would like to make the value of fantasy deserve to be rightly reevaluated, and provide the resources for the abundant artistic inspirations and contribute to present more creative fields of expressions to the fashion designers.

본 연구의 목적은 테오도르 아도르노의 ‘미학 이론’을 통하여 현대적 추의 특성을 이해하고, 추의 미적 가치를 범주화하여 현대미술과 패션에 차용된 추의 미학을 분석하는데 있다. 연구방법은 ‘추’에 관한 이론을 문헌연구 중심으로 살펴보고, 현대미술과 패션에 차용된 ‘추’는 사례연구 중심으로 분석하였다. 현대패션은 2000 S/S부터 2010 F/W까지 4대 프레타 포르테컬렉션으로 한정하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 추의 부정성은 저항성, 왜곡성, 부조화로 구분되었다. 현대미술에서 부정성은 반문화와 반가치 체계, 사회문제 고발을 표현한 작품들로, 주로 추상표현주의, 입체파표현주의, 다다이즘의 예술사조에서 나타났다. 현대패션에서 추의 부정성은 의복의 전통적인 규범과 양식을 부정하는 반패션(anti-fashion)으로 나타났으며, 인체의 왜곡을 통한 변형은 아방가르드 패션(avant-garde fashion)으로 나타났다. 둘째, 추의 양면성은 혐오성, 공포성, 성(性)의 양면성으로 구분되었다. 현대미술에서 양면성은 신체 파편화, 사도마조히즘을 통하여 초현실주의, 페미니즘, 신체미술의 작품에서 많이 나타났다. 현대패션에서 추의 양면성은 사도마조히즘, 악마적 모티브를 사용하여 성의 양면성이 공존하는 형태로 나타났다. 또한 양면성은 현대미술과 패션에서 사회고발을 통한 부정성으로도 나타났다. 셋째, 추의 불확실성은 우연성, 모호성, 이질성으로 구분되었다. 현대미술에서 불확실성은 추상표현주의, 신표현주의, 다다이즘, 포스트모더니즘에서 나타났다. 현대패션에서 불확실성은 혼성모방과 하위문화 패션의 펑크에서 나타났다. 이러한 연구는 20세기 이후 날로 다변화하는 미의 경향을 예측하는 기초자료로 활용할 수 있다는 점에 그 의의가 있다고 사료된다. This study aims to understand the modern characteristics of ugliness based on aesthetic theory of Theodor Adorno, who perceived ugliness as an aesthetic concept, and categorize aesthetic value of ugliness, and analyze the correlation of ugliness between contemporary art and fashion. For the approach of this study, the theory of ``ugliness`` was examined through literature review and correlation between contemporary art and fashion was analyzed by case study. The contemporary fashion was limited four collections of pret-a-porte from S/S 2000 to F/W 2010. The following results were obtained. Firstly, the negativity was classified into resistance, distortion, and dissonance. In contemporary art, it appeared in abstract expressionism, cubism and dadaism which expressed anti-culture, anti-value system, and accusation against social problems. In modern fashion, the negativity appeared as anti-fashion that negates the traditional norms and modes of clothing and body transformation through distortion appeared as avant- garde fashion. Secondly, the duality was classified into disgust, fear and sex. In contemporary art, it was commonly found in surrealism, feminism, and body art works through body fragmentation of destructive and Sado-masochism. In modern fashion, it appeared in the sexual anatomic image, Sado-masochism and demon`s motives. The duality also appeared as negativity through social accusation in contemporary art and fashion. Thirdly, the uncertainty was classified into accident, ambiguity and heterogeneity. In contemporary art, it appeared as abstract expressionism, dadaism of neo-expressionism, and postmodernism. In fashion, it appeared in pastiche, pluralism and punk. It is meaningful that this study suggests some information of the future trends of beauty which has been diversified since 20th century.
