In this paper. a dynamic stability analysis is carried out for a uniform. free Euler-Bernoulli beam, moving in a plane under the action of uniformly distributed follower force. Galerkin's mode summation method is applied to the problem. The stability of the beam is investigated with respect to the terms used in Galerkin's mode summation method. The results of the analysis show that 1)there are two rigid body modes. 2)the instability modes are flutter types. and 3)the critical value of the distributed follower force is 29% greater than that is known.
유한요소법에 의한 단순화된 미사일 몸체 모델의 안정성에 관한 연구

In this paper, the stability of a flexible missle, idealized as a free-free beam, is evaluated by using the finite element method. For the study, heavy machinery part is modeled as a concentrated mass and the thrust, which is controlled by a feedback sensor located at a predetermined position, is considered as a constant follower force. The aerodynamic forces, the structural damping, the cross sectional variation servo lag effect are neglected in this study. With unconstrained variational principle, the finite element method is applied to the nondimensionalized beam eqution. The matrix eigenvalue equation is obtained and the eigenvalues are calculated by a computer for the stability analysis. The stability is evaluated by the inspection of the eigenvalues are calculated by a computer for the stabilith analysis. The stabilith is evaluated by the inspection of the eigenvalues of the problem. For the study, the behaviors of the eigenvalues at various thrusts and the effects of the magnitudes and positions of the concentrated mass and directional control constant are analyzed.

In order to improve the performance of the suspension system for mass transport vehicle with prescribed dynamic behavior, a synthesis procedure of eliminating "Hunting" was studied to yield resonant velocities outside the range of most frequent operation. Effect of changing in the spring stiffnesses on the resonant velocities of the system was considered. The effects of damping on the suspension system was analyzed through the Root Locus Analysis. And Root Contours Method was used to obtain the optimal damping values. Hunting is controlled by using a proper damping into the secondary suspension.

Abstract Recently, interests in fuzzy control theory have grown rapidly and a lots of industrial products implementing fuzzy control algorithm have made appearances. Therefore, as an example of fuzzy control theory implementation, position control of DC servo motor is carried out which is widely used in mechanical engineering field. In this paper, studies are performed as follows. 1) Finding out the characteristics of fuzzy control; 2) Comparing the results of fuzzy control with that of PD control.
