Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the effects of Korean medicine treatment, including Onkyung-tang, on fibromyalgia. Methods: The patient was treated with herbal medicine, acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, and chuna manual therapy for 13 days. To evaluate the improvements, we used a numeric rating scale (NRS), the American College of Rheumatology Preliminary Diagnostic Criteria (ACR), the neck disability index (NDI), and the Oswestry disability index (ODI). Results: After treatment, the scores for the NRS, ACR, NDI, and ODI all decreased compared with baseline. Conclusion: This study suggests that Korean medicine treatment that includes Onkyung-tang can be effective in reducing pain and increasing ability to function in patients with fibromyalgia.

A new soft switching boost converter is proposed in this paper. The conventional boost converter generates switching losses at turn on and off. Because of that, the whole system efficiency is reduced. The proposed converter utilizes soft switching method using an auxiliary switch and resonant circuit. Thus, the converter reduces switching losses lower than ones of hard switching method. The proposed soft switching boost converter can be applied to photovoltaic system, power factor correction circuit and so on.

A high efficiency soft switching boost converter is proposed in this paper. The conventional boost converter generates switching losses at turn on and off. Because of those, the whole system efficiency is reduced. The proposed converter utilizes soft switching method using resonant circuit with an auxiliary switch. Therefore, the proposed converter reduces switching losses lower than the hard switching. The proposed soft switching boost converter can be applied to photovoltaic system, power factor correction circuit and etc.

This paper is proposed that the photovoltaic/fuel cell hybrid generation system for the stand-alone system. In case of the photovoltaic generation system, it depends on the weather condition, irradiation and so on... On the contrary, fuel cell has not this limitation. It can be interactive generation system between photovoltaic and fuel cell. This paper simulated stand-alone co-generation system based on the control of DC link. Moreover, 1[kw] BLDC motor system with speed and hysteresis current controller is used for the proposed system.

Objective: This study investigated the efficacy of using Nokyonggunbi-tang and other Korean medical treatments for a patient with consumptive disease and chronic fatigue. Methods: A 59-year-old female patient with fatigue, headache, dizziness, and neck pain due to consumptive disease and chronic fatigue was treated with herbal medicine (Nokyonggunbi-tang), together with acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, cupping, and chuna manual therapy, for 22 days. The treatment effects on the pain were evaluated using the scores for the Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS), European Quality of Life Five Dimensions (EQ-5d) Scale, Neck Disability Index (NDI), and Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). Results: Following treatment, the patient showed a decrease in the FSS, NDI, and NRS scores and an improvement in the EQ-5d score. Conclusions: Nokyonggunbi-tang and Korean medical treatment significantly improved fatigue symptoms in a patient with no substrate disease.

In the development of paralleling techniques, Multi-Phase Interleaved(MPI) converter constitutes one of the most promising alternatives reported in the last years. This technique consists of a phase shifting of the control signals of several cells in parallel operating at the same switching frequency. As a result, the aggregated input and output current waveform exhibit lower ripple amplitude and smaller harmonics content than in synchronous or stochastic operation modes. Based on the inherent advantages of the MPI converter, in this paper, a control scheme, which can reduce current and voltage ripple, is proposed for PEMFC generation systems. The MPI boost converter is composed of several identical boost converters connected in parallel.

In this paper, a soft switching boost converter with H-auxiliary resonant circuit is proposed. Using some resonant components, the circuit can be achieved the soft switching capability. Each of the switches in the proposed circuit perform ZVS at turn off and ZCS at turn on. Thus, the high efficiency characteristic can also be obtained, and then the size of the total system can be reduced. The operational principle of the soft switching boost converter in theoretically analyzed. Simulation results validate the analysis and experimental results demonstrate soft switching boost converter benefits.

This paper presents soft-switching boost converter adding to auxiliary switch and resonant circuit in conventional boost converter. This approach features a two power stage which implements both conventional BLDC motor speed control and input power factor correction. This converter is especially useful in application such as home appliance. Theoretical analysis and simulation results are presented.

This paper presents a novel soft switching topology with resonant DC-DC converter and inverter. The resonant DC-DC converter consists of the auxiliary switch, resonant capacitor and inductor. All switches in the proposed topology is turn on at ZCS and turn off at ZVS operation. The proposed soft switching technology can be obtained the reduced switching losses and voltage and current stress of the power devices. Therefore, the resonant converter efficiency is higher than conventional boost converter. Simulation results on a 1kW soft switching converter are presented.

It is generally used the boost converter for the welding machine using fuel cell. But this type generates the duplicate loss between boost converter and inverter. As a result, the whole efficiency is lower than conventional inverter arc welder and the cost is expensive due to additional switching device. Therefore, we proposed the inverter rectification type DC-DC converter with boost converter function in fuel cell based TIG welder. The performance of the proposed technique is evaluated on a 1.2㎾ fuel cell stack based experimental prototype circuit.
