        인체내 Interferon-γ투여 후 자가 항체의 출현

        The incidences of various autoantibodies in 18 patients receiving recombinant human interferon- γ(rhIFN-γ) in a dose of 1~10(6)×106 U/m day against advanced cancers were studied for 6 months using the methods of RIA and indirect immunofluorescent staining. De novo antithyroglobulin antibody was not detected in 11.8% during rhIFN-γadministration, but the concentrations were below 1 U/mL. De novo antimicrosomal antibody was not detected in any patient during the entire follow-up period. TSH receptor antibody, just above 10 LATS U/L, was found in 11.1%. There was no significant alteration of the thyroid function in them. Islet cell antibody and antinuclear antibody were not detected in any patient during follow-up period. These results suggest that in vivo administration of interferon- in the dose used in this study might not cause significant autoantibodies or autoimmunity. (J Kor Soc Endoornol 6:227~231, 1991)

      • 갑상선 유두선암종의 핵내 세포질 가봉입체의 병리소견 및 진단적 의의에 관한 연구

        갑상선 유두선암종 139예와 여포선종 그리고 선종양선종 각각 30예에서 핵내 가봉입체의 형태학적 소견을 항 thyroglobulin antibody를 이용한 면역화학 염색법을 시행하여 확인 관찰하고 이의 출현 빈도를 조사한 결과 핵내 가봉입체는 유두선암종에서만 관찰되는 특이소견임을 확인하였다. The present study was initiated for the purpose of determining the morphologic characteristics, frequency and specificity of intranuclear cytoplasmic pseudoinclusion in papillary carcinoma of the thyroid. We put particular emphasis on its contrasted frequency with other thyroid diseases. The number of cases examined were 139 cases of papillary carcinoma, 30 cases of follicular adenoma, and 30 cases of adenomatous goiter. Forty eight cases including papillary carcinoma, follicular adenoma and adenomatous goiter were stained with immunohistochemical method, using PAP and antithyroglobulin antibody. The results were as followings: 1.Intranuclear pseudoinclusions were eosinophilic and granular, bounded by definite limiting membrane. They were positive for antithyroglobulin antibody. 2.Intranuclear pseudoinclusions were mast frequently seen in areas where the tumor cells exhibited prominent nuclear angulation and possessed abundant cytoplasm with deep eosinophilia. 3.Out of 139 cases of papillary carcinoma examined, 96 cases (69.0%) showed obvious nuclear pseudoinclusions. Among these 96 cases, 29 demonstrated high frequency of their occurrence, being roughly estimated more than one per high power field. 4.All benign thyroid lesions reveal no inclusion, which is quite contrasted with the result obtained in papillary carcinoma. 5.Based on above findings, we concluded that intranculear pseudoinclusion would be important morphologic criteria for the diagnosis of papillary carcinoma. It was also found that frozen sections and imprint fairly well demonstrate the intranuclear inclusions.

        글로벌 경쟁시대에 정보윤리의 시대적 가치

        Global competition we experience today is based on the Information and communication technologies (ICT) which produce tremendous amounts of information about the market and competition. Businesses try to make the best use of such information for competitive advantages and getting ahead of their competitors. In the meantime, the acquisition and use of valuable information necessitates its protection and security from competitors, which is a huge challenge of itself. It is because there are various risks and problems to face in the information processing such as generating, storing, managing, transferring, and using it. If these risks and problems are not properly addressed, it may not be possible to achieve the value which the information is supposed to provide and it may even be possible to cause harms to its owner. However, sometimes the importance of information security is over-emphasized or ill-understood, it may lead to pursuing security for its own sake or building secrecy for the secrecy’s sake. This, in turn, is likely to hinder proper communication and cause thereby ineffective decision making. Therefore, in order to obtain the full value out of a given information, the potential problems from excessive security should be complemented by the balancing framework of information ethics. It is this balance between information security and information ethics that fits the contemporary spirit of information age which seeks the maximization of right information value and its utility. Information ethics should be regarded as the foundation of information society where information processing and use as well as information security have great significance. Besides, another reason why IE should be considered important in this complex and diverse information society is due to the social influence and ethical ramification the ICT has on our daily lives. Wrong applications of ICT and generation of faulty information can result in negative and formidable ripple effects due to their huge influences. Unpredictable directions of ICT progress should be guided by the information ethics toward the desirable direction the society hopes for. Businesses are supposed to contribute to the society they belong to since they are undeniably its members. When there are conflict between company profit and social value, most businesses have chosen the business profit and this behavior has caused many externalities. These days many efforts are taking place to overcome the businesses’ indifference of social value by putting emphasis of corporate social responsibility (CSR) or by suggesting the creation of shared value (CSV). In order to achieve the economic progress for the society in addition to the corporate profit, businesses should pursue the long-term success instead of short-term profit as the CSV suggests. To make this type of decision possible, it is necessary to build social cohesiveness and mutual trust among the members of the society. It might be possible by the Information Ethics which provides the foundation for shared value of a society. Therefore it is important and urgent to establish proper IE in order to sustain the human progress and future stability more than ever before. 정보의 본원적 가치를 얻기 위해서는 정보보안과 아울러 과도한 보안이 불러올 수 있는 문제점들을 정보윤리라는 균형의 틀을 통해 보완하는 것이 필요하다. 이러한 정보보안과 정보윤리의 균형이 올바른 정보의 가치와 그 활용을 극대화하려는 정보시대의 시대정신에 부합하는 것이다. 정보윤리는 정보보안뿐만 아니라 정보처리 및 활용과정의 전반에 걸쳐 고려되어야 할 정보사회의 밑바탕이라고 해야 할 것이다. 아울러 오늘날과 같이 복잡다양한 사회에서 정보윤리가 더욱 중요한 이유는 우리 삶에 깊이 뿌리를 내리고 있는 정보기술의 사회적 영향력과 윤리적인 파장 때문이다. 예측할 수 없는 정보기술의 발전방향은 정보윤리라는 토대를 통해서 사회가 지향하는 바람직한 방향으로 나아가야 할 것이다. 아울러 기업의 이익과 사회의 기여라는 두 가치 사이에서 대부분 기업들의 선택은 주로 전자를 선택해 왔다. 이를 극복하기 위한 노력이 기업의 사회적 책임에 대한 강조나 공유가치창출에 대한 가치의 이해를 통해서 나타나고 있다. 기업과 함께 그 기업이 소속된 사회의 경제적 발전을 동시에 얻기 위해서는 단기적인 사익적 가치를 넘어서서 장기적인 공익적 가치를 추구하기 위한 정보의 사회문화적인 공감대와 보편적인 구성원들 간의 상호신뢰가 성숙되어야 할 것이다. 그리고 그 토대는 정보윤리가 되어야 할 것이다.

      • 한국인 갑상선 질환의 병리학적 연구 : 1095 례의 외과적 절제물을 대상으로 Based on 1095 Surgically resected specimen

        A prospective morphological study was made on 1095 thyroid specimens which were removed surgically under various diagnoses at Seoul National University Hospital during a period of 6 years from 1976 to 1981. All thyroid specimens were carefully examined grossly by 3-5mm serial cutting after fixation. Almost entire thyroid specimen was submitted for microscopic examination. Therefore microscopic slides of one specimen ranged from 4 to 106 in number. Clinical records including operation notes were also referred to confirm the diagnosis. All of the material was examined and reviewed critically by the authors and was classified according to modified WHO classification. Among 1095 surgically removed thyroids, adenomatous goiter was the most common single disease which accounted for 43% of the entire cases. It was followed by papillary carcinoma and follicular adenoma. Of the malignant tumors, papillary carcinoma was the most frequently reported tumor, accounting for 259 cases (76%) of the entire malignancy. There were also 57 follicular carcinomas, 13 anaplastic carcinomas and 7 medullary carcinomas. Characteristic ground glass nuclei and psammoma bodies were seen fairly frequently showing the incidence of 64% and 65% of papillary carcinoma respectively. However, squamous metaplasia was present in only 17% of the papillary carcinoma. There were 56 occult sclerosing carcinomas. Most of these were detected in the thyroids of adenomatous goiter. The occult sclerosing carcinoma was found in 9.2% of adenomatous goiters while it was found in only 4.3% of follicular adenomas. It was interesting to note palpation thyroiditis seen in the thyroid specimens. It was seen in 24% of the adenomatous goiters, 17% of follicular carcinomas and 14% of the papillary carcinomas.
