This study investigates how Filipino Korean students experience racism in Korean schools. Filipino Korean students are intra-racialized into a new racial concept of the multicultural student and they show the burden of acting Korean in order to avoid racial discrimination coming from their mother's cultural backgrounds even though they are Koreans by birth. Their school experiences show intersectionality of racism, sexism, classism and other social injustices. Their outsider-within perspectives on racism at Korean schools request multicultural education be an empowerment project and commitment to social justice.

Today, education offices of cities and provinces across the country are proceeding with large-scale constructions in many schools to extend, re-build and re-locate old school buildings. When re-building do re-location of the old school buildings begins due to the constructions, they need much time until completion and as they are constructed in the same places in which students would study, damage in learning environment and relevant disputes are frequently followed. Therefore, in order to minimize class cancellations caused by constructions, they enacted related systems and basic guidelines for learning environment protection in 2007. On the other hand, in terms of these troubles such as noise-occurrence caused by constructions in schools, traffic safety of students at school as well as decreases in indoor air quality and intensity of illumination by soundproof wall installations and window closing, they are invading learning environment for some inevitable, indispensable reasons. In the light of that, this study conducted a field research and a survey targeting these four schools that are currently working on constructing optimal-sized buildings, and extracted core damage factors out of these other several learning environment invasion hazards. The study looked into both occurrence frequency and degree of invasion of the core damage factors and offered ways to reduce lear ning environmental invasion focusing on technical methods and efficient construction supervision at a stage of construction planning.

The authors studied 22 patients with delayed traumatic intracerebral hematoma (DTICH) who had been admitted to Hanyang University Hospital from March 1987 to Febrary 1988. The results of the study were summerized as follows : 1) DTICH occurred most frequently on frontal and temporal lobe and closely associated with contusion of the brain at initial brain computed tomographic scan. 2) 20 cases of DTICH discovered within 10 days after trauma and remained 2 cases occurred at 20 day and 30 day, respectively. 3) The prognosis of DTICH was mostly affected by the neurological status at admission and good results of the surgery was obtained from the patients operated within 48 hours. 4) It was thought that close observation of the neurological status, repeated computed tomographic scanning and prevention of the systemic insults such as hypoxia and hemorrhagic shock would be improved the clinical outcome of the DTICH.
A study on social justice in multicultural education
박성춘 서울대학교 교육종합연구원 2012 The SNU Journal of Education Research Vol.21 No.-
Although there is an increasing body of literature on social justice in the field of multicultural education, there is dearth of empirical research on how teachers perceive social justice in its relation to multicultural education. Due to conceptual ambiguity of social justice, researchers have approached teaching for social justice by addressing the idea of social justice or the reality of social injustice in a multicultural society. In this study I investigate teachers' empirical knowledge of social justice and its implications for multicultural education in Korea. This qualitative study with eight American teachers provides how they perceive social justice in their pedagogical practices of multicultural education. The primary finding from the study reveals that teachers’ knowledge of social injustice is essential to teaching for social justice.

The lumbar sympathectomy was performed for the treatment of 25 patients with Buerger's disease, 80% of patients received lumbar sympathectomy achieved improvement of clinical symptoms and signs. The lumbar sympathectomy had good results in following cases : 1) Patients with resection of L1 sympathetic ganglion which was performed completely, anatomically and widely. 2) Patients received operation within the 6th months of initial occurrence of symptoms. 3) Patients which main symptoms were rest pain, coldness and numbness. In case of resection which was included of L1 sympathetic ganglion, postoperative skin temperature measured on medial aspect of tibia was higher than normal side about 1℃. The prognosis was poor in patients which ulceration and necrosis were previously existed. Stop smoking must be preceded for the treatment of Buerger's disease.
