B-Site Disordered New Lead-Free Relaxor Ferroelectric Gd(Ni0:5Ti0:5)O3 System

Gd(Ni0:5Ti0:5)O3 solid solutions were synthesized and their structural and physical properties characterized. The X-ray diraction showed that the average structure of the system at room temperature was orthorhombic (Pbnm). The temperature-dependent AC-dielectric constant showed an anomaly (hump) around 500 { 600 K, depending on the frequency. The D-E hysteresis loops were also measured at room temperature and exhibited ferroelectric characteristics. The relaxor ferroelectric behavior of this lead-free centrosymmetric system might be related to the B-site local disorder in the system.

A 73-year-old man visited our hospital because ofpain with swelling and redness on the right footdorsum. He was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis andnodular hepatic cellular carcinoma. Lower extremityCT scan and MRI showed abscess formation in theright foot dorsum. Gram-negative cocci were recoveredfrom the culture of drained pus at the site andidentified as Neisseria skkuensis by 16S rRNA genesequencing. Here, we report the first case of cellulitisdue to N. skkuensis and provide a literature review. (Ann Clin Microbiol 2015;18:33-36)
호텔 이용객의 체면민감성에 따른 브랜드 선호도가 구매의도에 미치는 구조관계 연구: 국내 5성급 호텔을 중심으로

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to examine how social face sensitivity affects brand preference and purchase intention of hotel users. Based on existing research, this study formulated four hypotheses and empirically analyzed the relationships among the following variables: social face sensitivity (consciousness of others, self-conscious shame, and social formality), brand preference, and purchase intention to achieve the purpose. Data were collected from 230 questionnaires that were distributed by convenience sampling among customers of five-star hotels, and 217 suitable data samples were used for analysis. A structural model was developed and tested using structural equation modeling analysis. The analysis revealed the following findings. All the factors of social face sensitivity (i.e., consciousness of others, self-conscious shame, and social formality) had significant positive (+) effects on brand preference, supporting hypotheses 1, 2, and 3. Brand preference had a positive (+) effect on purchase intention, supporting hypothesis 4. Consequently, five-star hotel visitors who showed high social face sensitivity were likely to form a high brand preference, which would lead them to show positive intentions to purchase. This study contributes to the literature by examining the possible significance of the concept of social face sensitivity, one of the unique psychological variables featured in Korea, and provides practical implications to the hotel industry by suggesting new information on customer behavioral intentions.

In order to improve the mechanical properties, siloxane oligomers or polymers with functionalized end groups are of ien copolymerized with organic monomers to induce linkages such as urea, amide, urethane, and imide, etc. In this study, the aminopropyl-terminated poly(1,1,1-trifluoropropylmethyl-dimethyl)siloxane were bulk-polymerized with 1,) -bis(Y- aminopropyl) telramethyl disiloxane(DSX) as an end blocker, oclamethylcyclotelrasiloxane(D4), and (1,1,1-trifluoropropyl) methylcyclopolysiloxane (F)4, and a basic catalyst. Their compositions and molecular weights were analyzed by 1H-NMR spectroscopy, and the potentiometric titration method was used for the confirmation of molecular weight. The compositions of the polymers were found to be almost equal to the feed ratios. It was realized that well-defied siloxane oligomers having controlled composition and molecular weight could be utilized in synthesis and properties control of siloxane-organic copolymers.
