The genus Ametastegia Costa, 1882 was studied. Eight species are recorded for the first time in Koreanfauna: A. acutiserrula Wei, 1999, A. cheni (Wei 2003), A. geranii (Takeuchi 1929), A. longicornis (Takeuchi1929), A. nigroclypea Wei, 2003, A. sinica Wei, 1998, A. tenera (Fallén 1808), and A. tibialis Wei, 2003. Themales of A. longicornis and A. tibialis are first discovered and described. A key to the 10 Korean Ametastegiaspecies along with diagnoses, variation, photographs of the diagnostic characters, distribution, and recorded hosts for each species are provided.

The blotched nerite Nerita albicilla (Linnaeus, 1758) is widely distributed in intertidal areas of the Indo-Pacific. Interestingly, it is known that they inhabit in the southernmost region of Jeju Island, Korean Peninsula. Recently, it has been proposed that N. albicilla can be divided into two different species based on COI sequences. Herein, we describe the new species, N. originalis Hong, Park & Hwang, sp. nov., in Korea and Thailand. In addition to, we conduct the morphometric analysis between the two nerite species based on nine morphological characteristics of shells. The results show that there are no significant morphological differences of the shells between the two species. However, under SEM, we find a different morphological characteristic (lateral teeth on radula). Nerita albicilla has an inflection point close to a V-shape at the base in the lateral tooth, whereas N. originalis Hong, Park & Hwang, sp. nov. has a gentle inflection point. Through further study, we need to examine much more samples and more morphological characteristics to seek for significant morphological differences between the two species.

The genus Hemibeleses Takeuchi is examined to include the following five species from Korea: H. athaliodesTakeuchi, H. fulva Park & Lee, sp. nov., H. nigriceps Takeuchi, H. shinoharai Park & Lee, sp. nov., and H. ventralis Takeuchi. Hemibeleses athaliodes and H. shinoharai are newly recorded from Korea, and H. fulva isrecorded from Korea and China. All are described and illustrated, and a key is provided for the Koreanspecies.

A larval attack leading to severe loss to fruit production of Japanese plum (Prunus salicina Lindl.) was reported in the orchards in Gwangyang, Jeonnam province, South Korea during the spring seasons of 2018 and 2019. As the result of investigation, the damage was identified to be caused by Monocellicampa pruni Wei of the family Tenthredinidae. In this study, we present the first report of this pest in Korea and describe the damage caused by the larvae as well as taxonomic information by illustrating the characteristics of male genitalia.

The following six allantine species are new to South Korea and are described and illustrated: Allantus(Allantus) calliblepharus (Konow), A. (Emphytus) helanshanicus Wei, Li & Xiao, Eriocampa dentella Nie &Wei, Macremphytus fasciatus Takeuchi, Taxonus montanus Togashi, and T. zhelochovtsevi Viitasaari &Zinovjev. M. fasciatus Takeuchi, 1929, comb. rev., previously assigned to Asiemphytus, is transferred againto Macremphytus. A revised key, diagnoses with brief variations, photographs of the diagnostic characters, distributions, and recorded host plants for each species are provided.

Euura tibialis (Newman, 1837) is newly recorded in South Korea, attacking false acacia trees (Robiniapseudoacacia L.) without gall-inducing. This species is native to North America but introduced intoEurope and Japan, and is regarded as an invasive alien sawfly. In this study, we present the taxonomicinformation and brief biological notes of this new insect pest in South Korea as well as genetic data.

The genus Cephalcia Panzer in the sawfly family of Pamphiliidae Cameron is widely distributed in the Holarctic. However, very little is known about the Korean species. Here, we describe Cephalcia koreana Park & Jung, sp. nov. in Korea. Its larvae seriously defoliated leaves of Abies holophylla plantations in Hwacheon-gun, Gangwon Province during 2020e2022. It is newly recognized as an important forest insect pest. We provide taxonomic information including a new key for identifying and separating five Korean species and photographs of diagnostic characters with biological notes and genetic data of the new species.

The South Korean species of the genus Apethymus Benson are studied. Here we report two species, A. kunugi Togashi, 2005, and A. sidorenkoi Sundukov, 2010, new to South Korea. The male of A. kolthoffi (Forsius, 1927) is described in detail. A key to the South Korean species, diagnoses with brief variations, photographs of the diagnostic characters, distributions and recorded hosts for each species are provided.

박비아,강규원,송균명,고국향,박덕용,이종욱 국립생물자원관 2017 Journal of species research Vol.6 No.3
A survey of insect fauna on Dokdo Island was conducted by Yeungnam University from 2009 to 2016. The survey locations were the two islands of Dokdo Island (i.e., East and West Islands), located in the East Sea of South Korea. As a result of the survey, we identified five orders, 20 families and 27 species including 10 species newly recorded on Dokdo Island, of which Eupelmus australiensis (Girault) is recorded for the first time in South Korea. In combination with the results of previous surveys made from 1981 to 2016, the insect fauna of Dokdo Island is now known to consist of 10 orders, 77 families and 164 species (and 29 additional undetermined species). In this paper, we list the insect fauna on Dokdo Island and present photographs of 10 species with brief taxonomic notes of a eupelmid species.
