Alfred North whitehead 의 철학적 태도는 현재의 우리사고 속에 들어오는 모든 관념idea의 적용, 영역에 대한 이해를 확대(확장)하려는시도를 나타내 보인다. 또한 시원적인 primitive 관념들이나 시원적인 명제들에 만족하지 않는다. Modes of Thought(열린사고)에서 Alfred North whitehead는 첫째, 철학에서 창조적 활동 즉 창조성은 개개인의 현실적 존재(독)Dasein자들의 통일성에 기인한 공통의 특성일 뿐만아니라 그것의 개별화는 개별적인 현실적존재자로 본다. 둘째, 이와 같은 창조적인 행위의 한 가운데서 학설(철학)이 갖는 성격을 구성요건이 결정되어야 한다. 철학은 시와 유사하며 수학적인 패턴(그림)과 조화를 이룬다. 이 양자 모두에는 낱말의 직접적 의미를 너머서 형식form과 관련되어진다. 셋째, Alfred North Whitehead는 유기체organism 철학이라는 일관된 개념으로 특성을 나타내고 있다. 열린사고와 철학은 유기체 철학의 핵심사상과 관점을 비교적 일상적이고도 비체계적인 술어로 기술하고 있다. 자신의 (A. N. Whitehead() 형이상학metaphiysics을 소개하기 위한 내용이며 형이상학적 체계를 구성하고 있는 전문적 술어나 독특한 개념을 접근시켜 놓았다. 또한 그의 체계적인 사유 thinking의 뿌리가 맞닿아있어 수용적인 다양성의 측면과 구별되어지고, 능동적 통일화의 측면을 중시하며 감성적 지각과 대적시켰다. 이는 형이상학 체계를 단순히 사변적speculetive method(사변적방법)으로만 이해하고 있는 이에게 현실과 경험적 의미empirical meaning를 부여시켜준다. Alfred North Whitehead tries to extend the applications of all the ideas in our thinking and the understanding of their realm.He is not satisfied with primitive ideas and propositions. In Modes of Thought, he argues the following : Firest, creative activities i.e.,creativity are regarded not only as common characteristics based on the unity of each individual Dasein but also as individual Dasein when individualized. Second, in doing such activities, one should determine what elements constitute the characteristics of theory(philosophy).Philosophy is similar to poetry and in harmony with mathematical patterns(figures) : Both poetry and mathematical patterns are related to forms which go beyond verbatim meanings of words. Third, his theory is characterized in terms of coherent concepts called organism philosophy. His open thinking and philosophy describe the core thought and viewpoint of organism philosophy in everyday and unsystematic words. He introduces his own metaphysics and explains philosophical jargons and idiosyncratic concepts that constitute his metaphysical system. He endows those who speculatively conceive metaphysical system with realities and empirical meanings because the roots of his systematic thinking are consistent with each other.

The cathodic arc spot size of a nontransferred arc plasma torch is an important parameter that can predict the thermionic emission phenomenon for arc channel formation and the ion flux that impinges on the cathode surface. However, experimentally measuring the cathodic arc spot size is difficult. Therefore, in this study, a numerical analysis to estimate the cathodic arc spot size was performed according to the input current level with a tungsten cathode by using a self-developed magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) code. The various current environments were compared as low (0.424 A), intermediate (35, 60, and 90 A), and high (350 A) current levels. At each input current level, the arc voltage was calculated for the arc spot sizes from 1.0 to 4.0 mm. The appropriate cathodic arc spot size was estimated by comparing the measured and the calculated voltages. As a result, the cathodic arc spot radius had a valid difference depending on the input current level, and the influence of the cathodic arc spot radius was particularly sensitive under the low (0.424 A) current condition.

The author evaluated the nasal asymmetry after primary operations in the patients with unilateral cleft lip using full face photographs. The results are as follows : 1. Nasal deviation angle is average 2.98+3.01 degree(ranged from 0 to 10 degree), significantly different from control group(p<0.05). 2. Nasal deviation angle is average 5.1% when inter-medial canthal distance is 100%, significantly different from control group(p<0.05). 3. Difference in nostril size between cleft and noncleft side is 2.1% when inter-medial canthal distance is 100%, significantly different from control group(p<0.05). 4. Nasal attractiveness analysis shows higher points in difference in nostril size, nasal deviation, nasal form in that order. 5. Nasal asymmetry after primary operations in the patients with unilateral cleft lip using full face photographs is related with Nasal deviation angle, Nasal deviation distance and Difference in nostril size between cleft and noncleft side.
