The object of this study is at examing closely his postion in the literature history by understanding Chong Chi-gong's world of poems and evaluating rightly. Thus this thesis inquired into the totality of his poems chiefly. It may be said that this luterary contribution to the historical development of the Korean poetry was great and remarkable. Early poems, the suffering of the reality and his poetic self-quest against it are examined, the sense of absence and lostness in reality is expressed through poetic consciousness yearning for childhood and the old home. In the religious verses of Chong Chi-yong was onesided praise and religious self-inclination to God, the poetic tension aroused by the complication and controversy between heavenly things and earthly things were not found. His ideal was Baek-rok-dam of nature union by consuming delineated ego through self-denial showed the height and the depth of oriental spirit. In conclusion, it can be said that his poetry obtained it's poetic effect from the interaction of his dual tendencies towards tradition and modernism, he contributed a great deal to the development of modern poetry.

초등학교 5학년 여학생의 올바른 식습관 노력 정도에 따른 가공식품과 외식 영양표시의 인지도 및 활용도 조사

The purpose of this study is to investigate 5th grade elementary school girls' effort to recognize and use nutritional labels on processed foods and restaurant meals to encourage dietary behavior. The subjects (n=976) were divided into three groups (effort group, n=711; normal group, n=193; and no-effort group, n=72) depending on level of effort for the healthy dietary behavior such as eating balanced meals, eating three meals regularly, and eating meals slowly. In the effort group, the frequency of food intake for breads, ramen, noodles and fast foods was significantly lower, while frequency of food intake for fruits and vegetables and salad was significantly higher than in the other two groups. In the effort group, the ratio of the respondents that perception of nutrition labeling on processed foods and restaurant meals was 80.5% and 31.4% and the ratio of girls who checked the nutrition labeling at their point of purchase was 71.1% and 24.7%, respectively. Reasons given for not reading nutrition labeling for restaurant meals were 'not interested' for 34.6% of the effort group, and 52.2% of the no-effort group. Therefore, it is necessary to create an educational program on healthy dietary behavior, including how to read nutrition labeling and establishment of proper body image perception for elementary school girls.

Degeneration and Gender in Victorian Disability

Dinah Craik’s A Noble Life (1866), Wilkie Collins’ The Law and the Lady (1875), and Lucas Malet’s The History of Sir Richard Calmady: A Romance (1901) present severely disabled characters. These three lesser-known texts not only place disabled men at the center of their narratives but also surreptitiously implant female characters with masculine or homosexual features, which would have denoted degeneration and homosexual panic to Victorian readers. The trope of disability reflects Victorian science theories and the increase in women’s power, which accompanied the New Woman movement and subsequent questioning of gender norms. In this historical context, bodies of the disabled and women became objects to stare at, police, or even alter to validate British masculine superiority. A Noble Life and The History of Sir Richard Calmady suggest a life with disability can be an alternative way and can engender another relationship between a man and woman. Although the female and male authors’ approaches are different, their shared plotline of waning of aristocracy, insulating transmission of disability, and juxtaposing masculine or homosexual women with the disabled suggest blurring the boundary of physical and sexual normalcy beyond the dichotomy between “ability” and “disability.” Reflecting on the contending issues and social atmospheres, A Noble Life, The Law and the Lady, and The History of Sir Richard Calmady demand that their readers contemplate and pursue the diversity of human existence, without stigmatizing or ostracizing the disabled, and compulsorily eliminate standard notions of masculinity or femininity.

주택시장의 공간적 불균형에 대한 현상학적 해석

Recent housing price has been skyrocketed very high in Seoul and other satellite cities, espacially in some Gangnam areas of Seoul. It is criticized that it creates many social problems like regional disparity between Gangnam and Gangbuk. Hence, it is necessary to find out what spatial diaparity patterns in Seoul exist. Analytical indices used in this study are divided into four sectors at ward level; housing and residential environment, socio-economic status, welfare nature, land condition. These indices reflect various aspects of deprivation focusing on the substandard housing market. Empirical analysis result shows that there are different characteristics in regional housing market. Based on this study, indices will be utilized for implementing and carrying out urban housing polices to improve substandard housing and deteriorated urban areas.

장애이해 프로그램이 일반아동의 태도 변화에 미치는 영향

이 연구의 목적는 장애이해 프로그램이 일반아동의 태도 변화에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 설문지 조사를 사전, 사후로 실시하여 이원변량분석으로 분석 처리하였다. 독립변인은 장애이해 프로그램 실시 여부에 따른 두 집단과 성별, 종속변인은 일반아동의 태도 변화로서 연구대상은 초등학교 5학년 학생으로 실험집단은 통합학급 아동 40명과 일반학급 40명, 통제집단은 일반학급 40명이다. 실험처치는 장애이해 프로그램을 3개월 동안 총8주간 재량활동 시간을 이용하여 매회 40분 동안 실시되었고, 장해이해 프로그램의 내용은 장애에 대한 정보제공, 모의 장애체험, 장애인 주인공의 책읽기와 비디오보기, 느낌 나누기 등으로 나누어 실시하였다. 연구결과 일반아동의 태도 변화는 통합학급 아동이 일반학급 아동보다 장애아동을 이해하고 서로 협력하는 긍정적인 태도 변화를 가져왔다. 장애이해 프로그램 활용을 통한 다양한 장애이해 활동을 일반아동에게 적용시킴으로써 장애아동과의 상호작용 활동 시간을 많이 갖게 되었고 더욱 친밀감 있는 학교생활이 되도록 하는데 많은 도움이 되었다는 것으로 확인되었다.

시설거주 양육미혼모의 양육불안 변화를 위한 미술치료 사례연구

본 연구는 미술치료가 시설거주 양육미혼모의 양육불안을 감소하는 데 어떠한 변화를 가져오는지 알아보기 위한 사례연구이다. 연구의 대상자는 출산 후 모자가정시설에서 양육을 하기로 결정한 양육미혼모이다. 본 연구는 2010년 12월부터 2011년 3월까지 주1~2회, 매회기 60분간 총 20회기로 진행되었으며, 대상자의 양육불안 변화를 알아 보기 위해 회기별 변화, 비언어적(그림, 행동)·언어적 변화를 정리·분석하였고, HTP 그림 검사, 상태불안척도(STAI-X-1) 검사를 사전, 사후 비교·분석하였다. 연구결과는 미술치료 회기별 변화, 비언어적·언어적 변화에서 회기별 진행과정, 그림 및 태도, 언어적 감정표현을 통해 양육불안이 감소한 변화를 보였으며, HTP 그림검사에서는 불안정한 상징 표현이 감소하였다. 상태불안척도(STAI-X-1) 검사에서는 사전 점수는 52점, 사후 점수는 42점으로 12.5% 하락하여 불안이 감소된 변화를 가져왔다. 이상의 연구 결과에서 미술치료는 출산 후 양육을 하기로 결정한 양육미혼모의 양육불안을 감소하고 양육에 대한 자신감을 향상시키는 데 긍정적인 영향을 준 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 양육미혼모의 심리·정서적 안정을 돕고, 나아가 행복하고 안정된 양육을 할 수 있기를 기대한다.

영유아 건강검진 영양 문진 및 지침 개발

목 적: 보건복지부 및 국민건강보험공단에 의해 국내 최초로 영유아 건강검진 사업이 2007년 11월에 시작되었다. 본 연구진은 이 사업에서 포함되는 영양상담 프로그램을 개발하였다. 방 법: 연구진은 대한소아과학회에서 발행되는 영양지침 관련 자료와 미국의 Bright Future, 세계보건기구의 지침들을 참고하였다. 또한, 국내의 중요한 영양 관련 역학 연구인 국민건강영양조사 자료 및 2005년 소아청소년 신체발육표준치 결과를 분석하였다. 문진표와 보호자용 설명서, 컴퓨터 프로그램 및 의사용 지침서를 만들기 위해 연구자들과 정책 담당자들 간의 수차례 회의를 거쳤다. 결 과: 다수의 학문적이고 역학적인 근거를 통해 연령별 영양상담 핵심 주제를 선정하였다. 이는 영유아에서의 모유수유, 보다 건강한 보충식, 철 결핍빈혈의 예방, 보다 건강한 소아 식이, 과체중을 예방하기 위한 영양상담, 그리고 신체활동의 강조 등이다. 이에 근거하여 4개월, 9개월, 18개월, 30개월, 그리고 만 5세의 방문 시기별로 새로운 한국 영양상담 및 예방적 지침을 개발하였다. 각 방문 시기별로 5개에서 8개의 문진이 제공되고, 나이에 적절한 설명서와 의사용 지침서가 개발되었다. 결 론: 연구진은 최신의 과학적 근거를 통해 영양상담 및 예방적 지침을 개발하였으며, 이를 새로운 건강증진 정책인 영유아 건강검진 프로그램의 주요 구성 요소로 포함시켰다. 향후 보다 세밀한 영양학적 진단 및 주요 질환 치료로 이어지는 상담을 위한 심층 연구가 요청된다. Purpose: A new health policy, referred to as the National Health Screening Program for Infants and Children, was launched in November 2007 by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and National Health Insurance Corporation in Korea. We have developed a nutrition-counseling program that was incorporated into this project. Methods: We reviewed the nutritional guidelines published by The Korean Pediatric Society and internationally well-known screening programs such as Bright Future in the United States. We also reviewed the recent Korean national surveys on nutritional issues, including the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) and the 2005 National Survey of Physical Body and Blood Pressure in Children and Adolescents. The development of questions, pamphlets, computer programs, and manuals for doctors was carried out after several meetings of researchers and governmental officers. Results: We summarized the key nutritional issues according to age, including breastfeeding in infants, healthier complementary feeding, and prevention of iron deficiency anemia, establishment of healthier diets, as well as dietary prevention of overweight children with an emphasis on physical exercise. We have constructed a new Korean nutrition questionnaire and an anticipatory guidance program based on the primary care schedule of visits at 4, 9, 18, 30, and 60 months of age. Five to eight questions were asked at each visit and age-matched pamphlets for parents and guidelines for doctors were provided. Conclusion: We developed a nutrition-counseling program based on recent scientific evidence for Korean infants and children. Further research on this national program for screening the nutritional problems in detail and setting the therapeutic approaches may help identify areas of success as well as those that need further attention.

Queer Relations between the American Dream and Postcolonial Resistance in The Reluctant Fundamentalist (2007)

Mohsin Hamid’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist (2007) kindled debates on 9/11 discourse by providing a third-world perspective on the historical tragedy. While centering on postcolonial and international complications surrounding 9/11, Hamid addresses homosexual and racial identity in the text. Based on existing scholarship reading the text as postcolonial resistance, this essay aims to expand our view of 9/11 narratives by analyzing homosexual politics in The Reluctant Fundamentalist, which has barely been recognized by scholars. This essay examines, on the one hand, the mentor-mentee relationship between the closeted gay character Jim and Pakistani immigrant Changez (hearkening back to Greek customs of homosexuality), and, on the other hand, it looks at their mentorship as situated within postcolonial discussions concerning the effeminization of Asia and the assimilation process within a diaspora. Approaching the novel as an American dream narrative reveals an underlying anxiety about American society’s rejection about Others as well as of homosexuality. This essay argues that The Reluctant Fundamentalist critiques a white nationalist discourse after 9/11 in which orientalist impulses supersede homophobia, excluding racial others and integrating white homosexuals as patriotic members.

Nostromo the Novel and the Miniseries: From the Anguish of the Conqueror to the Agony of the Conquered

Both Conrad’s Nostromo and Reid’s Nostromo deal with the negative aspects of transnational capitalism and the hazardous impact of material interests on every character. Conrad pays more attention to imperial issues and estrangement of individuals in the process of exploitation. In contrast, Reid focuses more on the race and class struggles caused by foreign invasion, elements relatively easy to convey through visualization, adding scenes to amplify his own opinions. Reid also provides more of Mrs. Gould’s perspectives and agony, feminizing, in part, Conrad’s masculine narrative in the novel. This feminization of narrative point of view shows the medium’s focus on fascinating spectacles, which can be easily achieved through women characters with sexualized images and fabulous costume. The feminine element of Reid’s narrative also reflects the shift of women’s social position between the original work and its video adaptation. Despite the differences, both literary and TV miniseries works converge in the work of demystifying the adventure genre as a form of ideal hero worship.

Asexual Sherlock Holmes in The Blind Banker, The Great Game, and A Scandal in Belgravia

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle initially endowed his character Sherlock Holmes with mechanical logic along with the science of deduction and the heroic and godly features of policing and protecting United Kingdom from the threat of Others. Holmes’s mechanical rationality and godly traits naturally rendered him to be considered sexually neutral or asexual. Faithful to the spirit of the Doyle’s series, the twenty-first century Sherlock adds other up-to-date elements and incidents to increase its speed and spectacular. Along with the modernization of the stories and characters, the most striking change in the BBC version is the conspicuous representation of Holmes as a brand-new sex symbol of twenty-first century. In Sherlock, the asexuality is transformed into a symbol of intelligent masculinity and stands for a new sexuality in metropolitan London. In Sherlock, asexuality is perceived as sexually attractive because it represents more accurate and apathetic modern-ness influenced by mechanization and technology.
