        Computer Adjustment Costs:Is Quality Improvement Important?

        This paper examines how the costs of adopting new technology are different from those of expanding capital stock by utilizing the data on 20 U.S. manufacturing industries from 1983 to 1998. Using the Generalized Method of Moment (GMM), I estimate a dynamic factor demand model in which the adjustment costs of computer investment are allowed to depend on both technology adoption and quantity expansion. The results suggest that an additional one dollar investment in computers causes on average 35 cents of adjustment costs, of which 25 cents is due to quantity expansion and 9 cents is due to technology adoption. In particular, the technology adoption cost increases significantly in the late 1990s because of a rapid increase in the technological gap in computers. Decomposition of total factor productivity (TFP) growth, however, reveals that the presence of adjustment costs in computer investment causes a modest bias in TFP growth.

        The development of battery market has been widely studied due to the increasing demand of batteries for using various device for a along time such as smart phone, radio, MP3, automobile, and so on. The graphite oxide is known as flexible rechargeable battery electrode. The morphology and electrochemical performance of Graphite oxide as anode material for lithium-ion batteries is studied as various method. In this study, we designed and investigated lithium/graphite oxide battery cell for maximize the mAh discharge capacity of lithium Iron cathode and graphite oxide anode. Graphite Oxide structure is showed layer structure by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD).

        레이더를 이용한 선박제원의 추정

        When navigating at sea, informations like other ship's particular are very important to navigator who should make a safe maneuvering. Most of all is obtained through the optical observation and/or the radiotelephone communication, but it is not easy to perceive them when the visibility is restricted or there is some hardness in communication. In this study, we suggest the algorithm that measures the ship's length and speed on the radar screen and estimates the ship's particular such as gross tonnage, breath and type on the base of above two factors.

        협력 파트너의 지식파급이 기업의 혁신성과에 미치는 영향

        Firms’ product innovations can be differentiated into new to the firm (imitative innovation) and new to the market (drastic innovation). Utilizing the 2016 Korea Innovation Survey for the manufacturing sector, this study empirically analyzes the effect of spillovers from different cooperative partners. The estimation results show that spillovers from cooperative partners have different effects on the sales of innovative products. Spillovers from private customers, universities, and research institutions increase the sales of products new to the market. On the other hand, incoming spillovers from competitors matter for the sales of products new to the firm but do not have any significant impact on product innovation new to the market. 기업의 기술혁신은 기존에 존재하지 않았던 새로운 제품을 출시하는 시장 최초인 혁신(급진적 혁신)과 시장에는 존재하지만 그 기업에게는 최초인 혁신(모방적 혁신)으로 구분할 수 있다. 본 연구는 2016년 한국기업혁신조사 제조업 부문 자료를 활용하여 기업의 협력 파트너별 지식파급이 시장 최초 혁신과 기업 최초 혁신에 미치는 영향을 실증 분석하였다. 추정 결과에 따르면 지식의 원천별로 혁신성과에 미치는 효과가 다른 것으로 나타났다. 민간 수요기업, 대학, 공공 연구기관의 지식파급은 시장 최초 혁신제품의 매출을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 동일 산업 내 협력파트너의 지식 유입은 기업 최초 혁신제품의 성과에는 긍정적이지만 시장 최초 혁신제품의 매출에는 유의한 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

        The whistle is a very important information source for the safety navigation under foggy weather. But navigator has no concern about this, because it must be achived by human hearing sense and considered as a vague signal. If the range and relative bearing of signal source can be detected automatically, it would be very useful system for preventing marine casualties making a lot of economic loss and environment pollution. Before the algorithm of 2-dimensional sound source tracking system was reported. This paper describes the method that can obtain the time lag between three signals and the theory of cross-correlation analysis and subtraction method for cauculating the time lag by using the digital signal data sequences. And a series of experiments were carried out for various position of sound source in the range from 200cm to 530cm. As a result, we have recognized that sound source tracking system is possible to the sea field with improvement of position error.

      • 2차원적 음원추적에 관한 연구

        When navigating in or near an area of restricted visibility, it is necessary to be heard the whistle, bell and/or the siren of lighthouses or ships at times. Even though we can get the brief informations about the property of sound, the direction and range of a sound radiator, it is not enough to get the accurate informations for decision making. Generally the audio frequency is known as 16~20, 000Hz, but the earshot is shorten and discrimination of sound is more difficult when there is some noise. The sound pressure is 60dB at the moment when human speaks 1 meter away. Usually the noise pressures are 40dB in a silent room and 60dB on the quiet street, respectively. It this study, the basic algorithm and a method of signal processing are suggested to trace the direction and range of the source radiator using the signals received through not a physical sense but the microphone sensors.
