We propose an approach for the three-dimensional solid reconstruction of a human bone using medical images obtained from Computed tomography (CT). CT images of the female from the Visible Korean (VK) data set, which were constructed in the VK human project, were used. First, the femur and hip bone images were segmented from the original image. The segmented images were then smoothed by a Gaussian filter, and a triangular mesh was generated using the marching-cubes algorithm. To reduce the triangles in the generated mesh and eliminate aliasing, a triangle decimation algorithm using the quadric error metric method was adopted. To reconstruct the surfaces, the triangles in the mesh were interpolated with cubic triangular Bézier patches. The patches were then converted to a solid by stitching them. Finally, it is demonstrated that the proposed approach can be used in a practical design environment by importing the reconstructed solids into a commercial computer-aided design software.

The specific rates of solvolysis of 1- naphthyl chloroformate (1-NaphOCOCl, 1) and 2-naphthyl chloroformate (2-NaphOCOCl, 2) have been determined in a wide range of solvents at 2.0 and 10.0 ^oC. These give a satisfactory correlation over the full range of solvents when the extended (two-term) Grunwald-Winstein equation is applied. The sensitivities (l and m-values) to changes in solvent nucleophilicity (N_T) and solvent ionizing power (Y_(Cl)) are similar to those reported previously for solvolysis of phenyl chloroformate, which has been suggested to proceed through an addition-elimination mechanism with the addition step being rate determining. For four representative solvents, studies were made at several temperatures and activation parameters determined. These observations were also compared with those previously reported for phenyl chloroformates and naphthoyl chlorides.
선박 운항 시뮬레이터를 위한 실시간 3D 가시화 시스템의 설계

선박운항자의 인적사고 방지 및 운항 훈련을 위한 방안으로 선박 운항 시뮬레이터가 사용된다. 선박운항 시뮬레이터에서 실시간 3D 가시화 기술은 현실감 있는 직관적인 영상을 제공하여 피교육자에 인지력을 향상시켜 시뮬레이터의 교육 효과를 높이는 중요한 요소이다. 본 논문에서는 선박 운항 시뮬레이터에 장착된 실시간 가시화 시스템의 확장성 및 독립성을 확보하기 위해서, 가시화 시스템의 상업용 그래픽 엔진을 공개형 그래픽 엔진으로 대체하기 위해서 수행된 실시간 3D 가시화 시스템의 설계 결과에 대해서 설명한다. 실시간 3D 가시화 시스템은 요소 기능, 그래픽 데이터 활용, 타 시스템과의 연동 측면에서 도출된 운용 요구사항들을 만족하도록 설계되었고 시스템의 확장성과 상호운용성의 확보도 고려하였다.
