자동차 디자인에서의 Craftsmanship의 가치와 적용 타당성에 관한 연구

본 논문은 자동차의 등장 이후, 포디즘으로 대표되는 대량생산 시스템을 거쳐 현재에 이르는 자동차 산업에서, craftsmanship의 역할과 그 가치를 알아보고, 현대의 자동차 산업에서 어떻게 적용 될수 있는지 고찰하는것을 목적으로 한다. 연구 대상은 이탈리아 카로체리아(Carrozzeria)에서 선보인 자동차들과 현대의 자동차 산업에서의craftsmanship 역할과 적용 사례들을 알아보았으며, 문헌 분석을 통하여, 현대의 공업사회에서 장인정신과 수작업에 대한 견해와 관점들을 분석하였다. 1926년 할리얼이 제너럴 모터스에 미술부서를 설립하면서 시작된 자동차디자인은, 제2차 세계대전후, craftsmanship을 바탕으로 한, 이탈리아의 카로체리아를 중심으로 다양한 자동차들이 제작되었고, 새로운 디자인 방향을 제시하며 자동차 산업 발전에 기여하였다. 하지만, 1990년대 들어 적극적으로 사용되기 시작한 컴퓨터를 이용한 디자인 환경의 변화로, 장시간의 숙련된 기술을 통한 수제작을 기반으로 하는craftsmanship은 상대적으로 그 가치가 하락하게 되며 잊혀가는 것으로 여겨져 왔다. 하지만 대량생산을 통하여 운송수단의 풍요를 느낀 소비자들과 더불어, 남들과는 다른 차별성, 개성을 중시하는 사회적 변화에 따라 고부가 가치 시장이 성장하면서 craftsmanship은 다시금 주목을 받게 되었다. 최근 날로 경쟁이 심화되어가는 자동차 산업에서, 제품 자체의 물질적인 가치와 더불어 감성적인 만족감까지도 고려하는 디테일 디자인의 중요성이 대두되는 것은 본 논문에서 고찰하여본 craftsmanship의 가치와도 그 궤를 같이 한다고 볼수 있으며, 이를 바탕으로, 디지털 솔루션의 신속 정확함을 융합한 개념의 디자인 접근을 통하여 브랜드의 경쟁력을 높이고 이미지를 재고할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. The aim of this research is to understand the value of craftsmanship in the automotive design. Since the invention of the automobile and continued its growth through the adoption of the mass production system and current fully automated production circumstance. This research also contemplates how the role of craftsmanship could be positioned in the current automotive design. Several iconic cars that had been designed by Italian carrozzerias, conveying the value of craftsmanship and case studies of implementing this value in current car manufacturers have been reviewed with the literature reviews to analyse the diverse views of craftsmanship in social and design research realm. General motor’s Harley Earl has started the automotive design in 1926. After the Second World War, numerous cars had been designed by Italian carrozzerias with their craftsmanship and contributed to the car industry. However, the adoption of CAD in 1990s has brought the new circumstance and led the degradation of craftsmanship which entails hours of hand-driven work. Ironically, this forgotten value of craftsmanship has been revived due to the emerging luxury market as the customers have begun to seek different aspects of products that could conveys unique identity and value. Under the current competitive car market, it is natural to see the importance of detail-design has been emerged among the car companies, as the notion conveys the value of craftsmanship and merging with the strength of digital solution is expected to enhance the brand identity and competiveness.

헬스케어 모빌리티 디자인 융합사례에 관한 연구 -응급의료 이동 수단을 중심으로

본 연구는 급성장하고 있는 헬스케어산업과 헬스케어디자인의 개념을 이해하고, 모빌리티와 융합된 디자인의 발전 가능성과 가치에 관하여 탐구하였다. 헬스케어(Health Care) 산업은, 고령화와 같은 인구구조변화와 융합기술의 발전에 따른 지능화, 모바일화로 인한 헬스케어기기 및 서비스의 다양화에 따라 개인화 서비스가 강화되는 추세가 주요 이슈로 떠오르고 있다. 과거 전통적인 병원 중심의 의료서비스는 현재 지역 및 커뮤니티에 기반을 둔 헬스케어 서비스로 다변화되고 있으며, 새로운 개념의 의료서비스가 일어나고 있다. 또한, 의료서비스 공급자 중심에서 수요자 중심의 의료서비스의 변화와 함께, 일상적이고 자발적인 건강관리에 대한 요구가 증가하면서 대기업을 중심으로 미래의 성장산업으로 여겨지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 첫째, 문헌분석을 통하여 헬스케어산업 및 헬스케어 디자인에 관한 개념이해 및 디자인 적용 분야에 대하여 고찰하였으며, 둘째, 앞서 탐구한 헬스케어디자인과 함께, 수요자 중심으로 변화하고 있는 헬스케어산업의 변화를 이해하고 이러한 개념을 모빌리티에 적용하기 위하여, 사용자 중심 인클루시브디자인 개념에 대한 이해와 건강관리 산업에서 중요한 이슈인 고령자와 이동성의 상관관계, 그리고 셋째로, 미래 모빌리티와 헬스케어 산업의 융합을 통한 가치와 관련 사례를 함께 분석하였다. 결론적으로, 대한민국을 비롯한 전 세계 주요 도시의 고령화와 개인의 건강관리에 대한 수요증가와 함께, 자율주행 및 공유기반의 다양한 모빌리티 솔루션이 새로운 미래 산업으로 주목받고 있는 현 상황에서, 헬스케어디자인과 모빌리티의 효율적인 융합은 고령자를 비롯한 다양한 의료서비스 수요자에 더욱 효율적인 의료혜택을 받게 함은 물론, 일상적이고 자발적인 건강관리를 요구하는 수요를 충족하며, 향후 헬스케어 및 모빌리티 솔루션 디자인 분야의 핵심분야로 자리매김할 것으로 기대된다. The aim of this study is to understand the perception of healthcare and healthcare design and to explore the value and prospect of converging healthcare design and mobility solution design. The main issues of healthcare industry are the changing of population composition due to ageing society and focusing on personalised service thanks to rapid growth of mobile and ICT. In terms of changing circumstance of medical sector, the healthcare service, that was used to be accessible only at the general hospital, is now also available at local clinic and GP as well. Along with the rise of demand of healthcare service user and increase of life expectancy, the healthcare industry has currently regarded as one of the fastest growing industries. In this paper, firstly the literature review of the health care industry and healthcare design have been conducted in order to understand the context of this industry. Secondly, based on the literature review and case study, the principle of inclusive design has been explored in order to understand the user cent red design approach in combining healthcare and mobility design, along with co-relation of mobility and elderly, and value of fusing mobility and healthcare design with related case studies. In conclusion, under the current circumstance where the ageing society, the rising demands about well-being is rising due to increase of life expectancy, the fusion of healthcare design and mobility solution could provide medical service to various users including elderly and physically impaired people and play a prominent role in healthcare and mobility industry in the future.
