대뇌 정보처리 원리를 반영한 심성어휘집의 계산주의적 모델

본 연구는 한국인 피험자를 대상으로 이루어진 어절 재인 실험시 관찰된 언어 현상인 길이효과, 빈도효과, 그리고 이웃 효과 등 대뇌 언어정보처리 원리를 설명할 수 있는 심성어휘집의 계산주의적 모델을 제안한다. 제안한 모델은 코퍼스에서 나타난 어절의 빈도를 이용하여 정렬한 트라이(trie) 구조를 기반으로 하고 있다. 본 모델은 피험자들의 어절 재인 현상을 모두 설명할 수 있으며 피험자들을 대상으로 한 실험에서 사용한 동일 자료를 이용하여 시뮬레이션한 결과 인간의 언어정보처리에서 보이는 언어 현상과 유의미한 상관 관계를 보였다. We proposed a computational mental lexicon model which can explain some linguistic effects in human language processing. The proposed model is based on modified trie data structure of which nodes are sorted by phoneme frequency. The model can explain frequency effect, length effect, lexical status effect. and similarity effect with easy because of its inherent characteristics of trie data structure. In addition, when we trained the model with 10 million Eojeol size corpus, the correlation between lexical decision time and frequency of input lexical was very similar that of human language processing.

The purpose of this study was to explore the processes of English word recognition and word naming by Koreans. We controlled word frequency to examine how three factors-phonological regularity of words, word length, and the kinds of tasks-interact with one another. We used the immediate naming task, the lexical decision task, and the delayed naming task in order to see the processing difference between Koreans and Americans in recognizing English words. The results showed that, the reaction patterns of Korean and American subjects were similar in the respect of the word length and word regularity effects. In the case of Korean subjects, we found the interaction of word length and regularity in lexical decision task but not in word naming task, which means word length and regularity factors affects various levels of word recognition process and especially the level of lexicality decision process. Also, we found word length effect without word regularity effect in the delayed naming task, which means the phonological regularity of English words has effects on the process of shaping phonological representations but not on the process of articulation using phonological representations.

In the present study, the intelligibility of the synthesized speech sounds was evaluated by using the psycholinguistic and fMRI techniques. In order to see the difference in recognizing words between the natural and synthesized speech sounds, word regularity and word frequency were varied. The results of Experiment1 and Experiment2 showed that the intelligibility difference of the synthesized speech comes from word regularity. In the case of the synthesized speech, the regular words were recognized slower than the irregular words, and there was smaller activation of the auditory areas in brain for the regular words than for the irregular words.
