In order to know the current status of sensitivity of urinary and enteric pathogens including pathogenic vibrios to some antimicrobial agents of current use, the sensitivity of these organisms isolated in recent years from. pathological sources except most of Vibrio parahaemolyticus which were isolated from marine sources) was studied by the agar plate dilution method. The antimicrobial agents tested were kanamycin (Kan), gentamicin (Gen), penicillin G (Pen), ampicillin (Amp), neomycin (Neo), oxytetracycline (0-Tet), minocycline (Min), doxycycline (Dox), furilin (Fur), streptomycin (Str), chloramphenicol (Chl), erythromycin (Ery), colistin (Col), carbenicillin (Carb), polymyxin .B (PxB), trimethoprim (TMP), sulfamethoxazole (SMX) and the mixture of TMP-SMX. Urinary isolates was classified into two major species, staphylococci and Escherichia coli, and the others were enteric gram negative bacilli and gram positive. cocci. These organisms were sensitive to Gen but resistant to most of antimicrobial agents of current use. They were especially resistant to Str, Kan, Pen, Amp, Chlr O-Tet, TMP-SMX and Col. Salmonella was strongly sensitive to Kan and moderately sensitive to drugs other than TMP-SMX, Ery and Col. Shigella was strongly sensitive to Kan, Gen and Amp, but highly resistant to Stir,

Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) has been proven its value in adult patients with congestive heart failure of low ejection fraction and wide QRS duration. Contrast to adult patients, CRT has been rarely applied for young patients. We report on a 9-yr-old boy with progressive left ventricular (LV) dilatation and dysfunction following chronic VVI pacemaker therapy for congenital complete atrioventricular block associated with maternal anti-SSA/Ro and SSB/La antibody. His LV dysfunction was improved after epicardially established CRT.

Objectives: This study was performed to evaluate course of the inferior alveolar canal in the mandibular ramus and to find safety zone when ramal bone is harvested. Patients and Methods: From January, 2009 to February, 2009, the 20 patients who visited in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Sanbon Dental Hospital. Wonkwang University and the Conebeam CT was taken of various chief complaints, were selected. The patients who had left and right mandibular first molar and incisor missing, jaw fracture and bone pathology were excluded. The R point was defined as the point which occlusal plane was crossed to the mandibular anterior ramus(external oblique ridge). In the cross-sectional coronal and axial views, the inferior alveolar canal position to the R point, buccal bone width(BW), alveolar crest distance(ACD), distance from alveolar crest to occlusal plane(COD) and inferior alveolar canal to sagittal plane(CS) were measured and horizontal distance(HD), vertical distance(VD) and nearest distance(ND) were measured. Results: The inferior alveolar canal is located $6.19{\pm}1.21\;mm$ from the R point. Horizontal distance from the R point were $13.07{\pm}2.45\;mm$, vertical distance from the R point were $14.24{\pm}2.41\;mm$ and nearest distance from the R point were $10.12{\pm}1.76\;mm$. The course of the inferior alveolar canal was positioned within $0.61{\pm}0.68\;mm$. The distance from external buccal bone to the inferior alveolar canal was increased from the R point anteriorly. Conclusions: It is considered that the mandibular ramus from the R point to 10 mm anteriorly can be harvested safely at ramal bone grafting.

Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the predictive factors for prostate cancer in patients with prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels equal to or less than 4 ng/ml. Materials and Methods: A retrospective study of medical records was conducted on 292 patients with initial serum PSA ≤4 ng/ml among 2,305 patients who underwent prostate biopsy from January 2003 to December 2008. Prostate biopsy was performed on patients with PSA ≤4 ng/ml in the case of abnormal findings in the digital rectal examination (DRE) or transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS) or in those with a PSA level higher than the age-adjusted PSA levels. The patients were divided into the group diagnosed with prostate cancer and the non-prostate-cancer group. Subsequently, the variables of the two groups were compared. Results: The patients’ mean age was significantly higher in the prostate cancer group (n=28) than in the non-prostate-cancer group (n=264; p=0.033). In addition, for the patients with a PSA range of 2.0-2.9 ng/ml, their age (p=0.049) and PSA density (PSAD; p=0.042) were significantly higher and the prostate volume (p=0.028) was significantly smaller in the prostate cancer group than in the non-prostate-cancer group. Conclusions: Of the patients with PSA ≤4 ng/ml, the age of the patients who showed abnormal findings in the DRE or TRUS or who had a PSA level higher than the age-adjusted PSA level was a significant predictive factor for prostate cancer. In particular, for the PSA range of 2.0-2.9 ng/ml, a thorough screening test for prostate cancer was required if the patients had conditions such as higher age, smaller prostate, and higher PSAD.

- In high-voltage devices such as thyristor, beveling is mostly used junction termination method to reduce the surface electric field far below the bulk electric field and to expand the depletion region thus that breakdown occurs in the bulk of the device rather than at the surface. However, coating material used to protect the surface of the device contain so many charges which affect the electrical characteristics of the device. And device reliability is also affected by this charge. Therefore, it is needed to analyze the effect of surface charge on electrical characteristics of the device. In this paper, we analyzed the breakdown voltage and leakage current characteristics of the thyristor as a function of the amount of surface charge density. Two dimensional process simulator ATHENA and two-dimensional device simulator ATLAS is used to analyze the surface charge effects.

Researchers have encountered difficulties in finding empirical evidence of Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) especially when conventional linear unit root tests are employed for the Japanese yen real exchange rate. Chortareas and Kapetanios (2004), however, report strong evidence in favor of a Balassa-Samuelson type model of PPP by applying a nonlinear unit root test by Kapetanios et al. (2003) to the other G7 and Asian currencies relative to the Japanese yen, claiming that the yen real exchange rate may be (trend) stationary. We question the validity of this remark. First, we note that their claim is upset when we extend the data until 2008 even when the same nonlinear unit root test is used. Second, we apply the inf- test by Park and Shintani (2005, 2010) which does not require the Taylor approximation, and find strong evidence against stationarity for most yen real exchange rates. Our results also corroborate the findings of Kim and Moh (2010) who report a possibility of misspecification problems by using Taylor-approximation based tests.
