Environmental facilities are required to recover quickly from earthquake damage and maintain normal function. On the other hand, they are excluded from the facilities subject to seismic acceleration measurement obligations under the current regulations. The MEMS acceleration sensor module can reduce the cost of burying communication lines in the existing SHM system. In addition, it has excellent scalability because it can respond quickly to changes in the measurement points. Therefore, this study established a pilot monitoring system using MEMS acceleration sensor modules for two environmental facilities and confirmed the possibility of replacing the existing SHM system through analysis of the empirical and measurement data for two years. In measuring the ambient vibration environment, the main functions of the module, such as shock vibration detection, 24-hour vibration monitoring, and measurement data storage, were verified. In seismic wave measurement data analysis, the data and waveforms measured by the module for earthquakes in 2022 and 2023 were analyzed. Using the acceleration measured by the module, building safety could be evaluated in connection with disaster standard operating procedure (SOP), and secondary damage can be reduced by linking with the process management system of environmental facilities in real-time.
Clinical Analysis of Lobular Keloid after Ear Piercing

Background: Lobular keloid appears to be a consequence of hypertrophic inflammation secondary to ear piercings performed under unsterile conditions. We wish to understand the pathogenesis of lobular keloids and report operative outcomes with a literature review. Methods: A retrospective review identified 40 cases of lobular keloids between January, 2005 and December, 2010. Patient records were reviewed for preclinical factors such as presence of inflammation after ear piercing prior to keloid development, surgical management, and histopathologic correlation to recurrence. Results: The operation had been performed by surgical core extirpation or simple excision, postoperative lobular compression, and scar ointments. Perivascular infiltration was noted in intra- and extra-keloid tissue in 70% of patients. The postoperative recurrence rate was 10%, and most of the patients satisfied with treatment outcomes. Conclusion: Histological perivascular inflammation is a prominent feature of lobular keloids. Proper surgical treatment, adjuvant treatments, and persistent follow-up observation were sufficient in maintaining a relatively low rates of recurrence.
Predicting Product Demands for Large-scale Chain Stores with FTRL-Proximal Linear Regression

Demand prediction for large-scale chain stores is a large-scale learning problem. A solution for this kind of problems is the online learning used in areas of machine learning when it is computationally infeasible to train over the entire dataset. This paper proposes to apply an online learning algorithm, FTRL-Proximal, to an example demand prediction problem for large-scale chain stores published in an open competition. Experimental results show that the algorithm with some minor modification is better than the best single model published in the competition.
