Radon, which is one of the radioactive elements in the natural world, exists in the atmosphere and water. When this element inflows into the human body, it carries the risks of developing lung cancer and stomach cancer. Therefore, in this study, an effective 10 L scaled reactor was produced to mitigate radon in water and the radon mitigation efficiency in water following the changes in water temperature and amount of aeration were evaluated. Based on this, the radon mitigation efficiency (SRRR; Specific radon removal rate) was derived per unit air volume. According to the study result, when water temperature increased from $10^{\circ}C$ to $16^{\circ}C$, the SRRR value increased from 95 $nCi/m^3{\cdot}L$ to 134.4 $nCi/m^3{\cdot}L$, and when the amount of aeration increased from 0.2 L/min to 1 L/min, the SRRR value decreased from 198.1 $nCi/m^3{\cdot}L$ to 72.2 $nCi/m^3{\cdot}L$. Therefore, based on the experimental results, it is considered that it can be applied as a examination factor and objective indicator during the design of future radon-in-water mitigation systems.

This paper presents an effective method for detecting vehicles in front of the camera-assisted car during nighttime driving. The proposed method detects vehicles based on detecting vehicle headlights and taillights using techniques of image segmentation and clustering. First, in order to effectively extract spotlight of interest, a pre-signal-processing process based on camera lens filter and labeling method is applied on road-scene images. Second, to spatial clustering vehicle of detecting lamps, a grouping process use light tracking method and locating vehicle lighting patterns. For simulation, we are implemented through Da-vinci 7437 DSP board with visible light mono-camera and tested it in urban and rural roads. Through the test, classification performances are above 89% of precision rate and 94% of recall rate evaluated on real-time environment.
식도암 환자에서 $^{99m}Tc$-Neomannosyl Human Serum Albumin과 $^{99m}Tc$-Phytate를 이용한 감시림프절 탐색의 비교

Background: The aim of this study was to compare a novel mannose receptor-binding agent(Technetium-99m human serum albumin, $^{99m}Tc$-MSA) with $^{99m}Tc$-phytate for sentinel node mapping in patients with esophageal cancer. Material and Method: Twenty patients with clinical stage T1N0m0 or T2N0M0 esophageal cancer that were candidates for esophagectomy were enrolled. Endoscopic injection of $^{99m}Tc$-MSA or $^{99m}Tc$-phytate was administered at the peri-tumor region before surgery in 10 patients. The radioactive lymph nodes were identified with a handheld gamma probe after lymph node dissection. Results: The patient's age and the sex ratio of both groups were similar. The clinical stage, tumor location, and operative technique did not differ. The total number of dissected lymph nodes did not differ ($28.5{\pm}9.12$ in MSA group, $32.2{\pm}11.24$ in phytate group, p=0.430). The sentinel node was identified in all cases in both groups. The number of sentinel nodes per patient was $2.7{\pm}1.57$ in the MSA group, which was significantly greater than the $1.7{\pm}0.88$ in the phytate group (p=0.036). Five out of 20 patients whose sentinel nodes could be identified had metastases; however, neither group had any false-negative results for sentinel node identification. Conclusion: Sentinel nodes were detected more frequently with MSA than with phytate.
Rod Milling과 Chemical Leaching에 의해 제작된 비평형 Al(Fe-Cu) 합금 분말의 결정화 및 자기적 특성

We report the crystallization and magnetic properties of non-equilibrium $Al_{0.6}(Fe_{x}Cu_{1-x})_{0.4}(x=0.25, 0.50, 0.75)$ alloy powders produced by rod-milling as well as by new chemical leaching. X-ray diffractometry, transmission electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry and vibrating sample magnetometry were used to characterize the as-milled and leached specimens. After 400 h or 500 h milling, only the broad peaks of nano bcc crystalline phases were detected in the XRD patterns. The crystallite size, the peak and the crystallization temperatures increased with increasing Fe. After being annealed at $600{^\circ}C$ for 1 h for as-milled alloy powders, the peaks of bcc $AlCu_{4}\;and\;Al_{13}Cu_{4}Fe_{3}\;for\;x=0.25,\;bcc\;AlCu_{4}\;and\;Al_{5}Fe_{2}\;for\;x=0.50,\;and\;Al_{5}Fe_{2},\;and\;Al_{0.5}Fe_{0.5}\;for\;x=0.75$ are observed. After being annealed at $500{^\circ}\;and\;600{^\circ}C$for 1 h for leached specimens, these non-equi-librium phases transformed into fcc Cu and $CuFe_{2}O_{4}$phases for the x=0.25 specimen, and into bcc ${\alpha}-Fe,\;fcc\;Cu,\;and\;CuFe_{2}O_{4}$ phases for both the x=0.50 and the x=0.75 specimens. The saturation magnetization decreased with increasing milling time for $Al_{0.6}(Fe_{x}Cu_{1-x})_{0.4}$ alloy powders. On cooling the leached specimens from $800{\~}850^{\circ}C$,\;the magnetization first sharply increase at about $491.4{\circ}C,\;745{\circ}C,\;and\;750.0{\circ}C$ for x=0.25, x=0.50, and x=0.75 specimens, repectively.

생약재는 특수 건강식품에 대한 관심고조, 국산 생약재의 선호도 증가 그리고 재배기술의 향상으로 이들 생약재의 생산량과 생산액은 증가추세에 있다. 그러나 생약재는 현재까지 단순 건조하여 한약재로 이용되는 것 이외는 가공방법이 확립되어 있지 않아 현대적 수요경향에 맞는 기호성과 영양, 약리효과를 증진시킬 수 있는 음료 등 가공식품의 개발은 시급한 과제로 대두되고 있다. 따라서 생약재의 분포 및 생산현황, 생약재의 국제경쟁력, 생약재의 기능성 식품으로의 이용가능성을 확인하기 위한 생물활성 검색 연구현황 그리고 국내 생약재를 이용한 음료의 유통현황을 소개하고자 한다.
