Vol.29 No.1
The aim of this study is to evaluate geoheritage values, and describe geological records in the geological outcrops distributed in the north coast of Deungnyangman, Jeollanamdo. The results of this study are listed below. Various geological records are distributed in the geological outcrops of about 1.2km coast of this study area. The area shows unconformity that involves a substantial break or gap in geological record, and meets with a fracture caused by spheroidal weathering and the intrusion of acidic and intermediate dykes in the 5 sites of this study area The explanations on geological records of this investigation are as follows. The unconformity of this study area is a nonconformity developed between sedimentary rocks and older metamorphic rock. The fault (about 2m displacement) showed in this area is mainly a normal fault developed in sedimentary rocks. The phenomenon of spheroidal weathering, which is a product of chemical weathering is developed in the outcrops of igneous and gneiss. The acidic and intermediate dykes around 3m to 5m in width are developed in the outcrops of gneiss. As for the geological records of these 5 sites, the values of academy, education, geomorphology and landscape were evaluated as excellent. This is due to the representativeness, scarcity and diversity of these geological outcrops. As this study indicates, these 5 sites have high value as geoheritages and thus, plans for the conservation and management on these geological outcrops should be provided.

Jukkeumdo, a research area, is an island in Hwajeong-myeon, Yeosu-city. Jukkeumdo has an area of about 0.78㎢, and the coastline is about 9km long. Jukkeumdo lies approximately in the north-south direction. Yeungnam-myeon, Goheung-gun is located about 1.2km west of Jukkeumdo, and both sides are connected by the Palyeong bridge. Nangdo is located in the southwest of Jukkeumdo, and the two islands are connected by the Jukkeumdo bridge. In this study, the geomorphological and geological characteristics of Jukkeumdo were investigated and evaluated. For the purpose of the study, the survey was conducted mainly along the southwestern coast of Jukkeumdo. The results of this study could be used as the basis materials for the selection of geological heritage at the national level as well as the basis data for geotourism and educational utilization. The characteristics of the geomorphological and geological landscapes distributed on the coast of Jukkeumdo are as follows: According to the classification the NIE(2019), the geomorphological landscape of Jukkeumdo is classified as coastal terrain, specifically seven types of sea cliffs, wave-cut platforms, tafoni, marine potholes, notches, gravel beaches, and sand beaches. In addition, according to the standards of Lee etc.(2003), there are 13 types of geomorphological and geological landscapes, including sea cliffs, wave-cut platforms, rocky coast, stratifications, conglomerates, sandstones, mudstones, columnar joints, dykes, volcanic rocks, faults, ripple marks and dinosaur footprint fossils. In particular, poorly preserved dinosaur footprint fossils are found on the layers of dark gray shale in this area. There is a possibility that dinosaur footprint fossils will be found in good preservation in the future by detailed exploration. Geological phenomena observed in the study area, such as sea cliffs, gravel coasts and tafoni, as well as sedimentary rocks, dykes, columnar joints, faults, ripple marks, and dinosaur footprint fossils, are consistent with the main learning contents of the geology units of elementary school science. Therefore, the research area can be used as an outdoor geology learning area where students can directly observe and experience geological phenomena in outdoor natural environments. In addition, various geological phenomena distributed in the research area can be used as teaching-learning materials in classroom classes by taking photographs, making videos, or gathering VR data.

Many people consider art as a visual activity. If we restrict art to being only visual, it means that blind children are ruled out as students of art education. According to Hollins(1989), blind children have their own art-expressing development steps. Discussing and making art work with blind, visually impaired, and sighted children will be a meaningful chance to learn and share each other"s unique experiences about art. In the class, seeing the world with the tip of a finger, children who have different experiences, body conditions, and knowledge of art will learn together in an integrated group. The basic understanding about abstract art is necessary for this class, so the class will start from explanation and discussion about abstract art and elements of art. Learning materials for this should be made with things with noticeable textures. Children will be able to understand the concept of elements of art such as a dot, a line, and a shape. Also, colors will be replaced by textures. From this class, blind children will have a chance to be familiar with artworks, to express themselves with artworks and to learn the way of appreciating artworks. Visually impaired children will recover their interesting and self-confidence about art. And all of children will enlarge their concepts about art and will find the new way to appreciate and express not with eyes but with other sense. After completing artworks, an exhibition will be opened in a darkroom and attendances will appreciate artworks with their fingers in the dark by following the unevenness guidelines. Before appreciating students" artworks, attendances will be educated how to appreciate artworks in the dark. This event will be a chance not only broadening the public"s conception about art but also awakening the possibility of art for the blind.

The aim of this study is to classify the geomorphological and geological landscapes distributed in the southeast area of Daeseo, Goheung-gun, Korea, and to provide basic resources for the earth science education and geotourism. The geological survey was performed in about the 1.6km coast in the northwest direction from the Sumudong ferry to the Jangsun coast. The results of this study are as follows. Geomorphological landscapes of sea cliff, wave-cut platform, marine tafoni, gravel beach and geological landscapes of stratification, cross bedding, graded bedding, joint, dyke, vein, fault, unconformity, sedimentary rocks(conglomerate, sandstone, shale), granite, gneiss, rhyolite and so on were found in the study area. The geomorphological and geological landscapes from conglomerate, sea cliff, unconformity between sedimentary rocks and gneiss, fault, granite intrusion structure, quartz vein, spheroidal weathering, corestone and plant fossils from the landscapes of this study area are fit for geotourism and are useful geological learning materials. Characteristically, fault in sedimentary rocks, unconformity, granite intrusion structure and plant fossil sites should be assigned as geoheritage. Such sites should be preserved and need to be protected from natural and human causes. Since the 400m length geological observation trail was installed along the coast from the northwest direction of the Sumudong ferry, this area is recommended as the site for outdoor geological learning and geotourism.

The purpose of this study is to provide basic resources for education, tourism and geotourism by investigating the characteristics of geomorphological and geological landscapes in Jeungdo, Sinangun. According to the classification from Ministry of Environment and National Institute of Environmental Research(2012) there are eight types(sea cliff, wave cut platform etc) of geomorphological and geological landscapes, while the Korea Environment Institute(2003) categorizes them into seventeen types (stratification, sedimentary rocks, volcanic rock, fault, columnar joint etc). The geomorphological and geological landscapes of the study area are useful materials for on-the-spot learning of geomorphological and geological features which are often dealt in elementary and middle school science textbooks. It can also act as a basic data for ecotourism and geotourism for visitors in Jeungdo, Sinangun. In addition, specific targets for geomorphological and geological heritage should be determined in terms of conservation value through professional and detail field investigation.

The purpose of this study was to investigate and classify the geomorphological and geological landscape of Soryongdo and to suggest ways to use it as an earth science education. The results of this study will be helpful not only as basic data for geological heritage evaluation but also as learning materials for earth science education. Soryongdo belongs to Haui-myeon, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, and is an uninhabited island. Soryongdo is located on the west side of about 2.5km away from Hauido, located in the southwest of Mokpo-city. Jangdo is located on the east side of Soryongdo and Yongdo on the northwest side. The size of Soryongdo is about 190m long in the east-west direction and 110m in the north-south direction, with an area of about 5,950㎡. The entire coast of Soryongdo consists of rocky coasts, and extends to sea cliffs, notches, and wave-cut platforms toward the sea. Various types of taffoni are distributed on the sea cliffs of Soryongdo, so the scenery is beautiful, and various weathering and coastal erosion topography can be observed, so it has been evaluated as an uninhabited island with a very high academic value. The results of this study are as follows. The coast of Soryongdo is a rocky coast consisting of sea cliffs, notches, wave-cut platforms, and boulder beaches. Sea cliffs are developing on the entire coast of the island. The notches are distributed in the lower part of the sea cliffs and mainly develop on the southern coast of the island. The wave-cut platforms are connected to the sea cliffs and are up to 80m wide on the southern coast. The weathering and erosion topography observed on Soryongdo are taffoni and marine potholes. Taffoni mainly develop on the slopes of the sea cliffs on the southern coast. Marine potholes develop on the wave-cut platforms on the north coast. The rocks distributed in the study area are hard tuffs with developed stratification, and lapilli. On the southern coast, intermediate dykes with a width of about 2m and a length of about 50m are distributed. Joints developing on the south coast have a northeast-southwest orientation. Faults are observed in some tuff layers. The geomorphological and geological landscapes distributed in the research area were compared and analyzed with the learning contents of the geological unit of the 2015 curriculum for elementary school science, middle school science, and high school earth science Ⅰ. Sea cliffs, notches, wave-cut platforms, and boulder beaches are related to the learning contents of the “Changes in the earth’s surface” unit of in the 3rd grade of elementary school science. This study aims to investigate the geomorphology and geology of Solseom and Jangyeo areas located on the southern coast of Goseong-gun, where the distribution of dinosaur footprints has not been known so far, and to suggest an educational use by evaluating the potential geological educational value. The research results are as follows. The coastal topography of Solseom consists of sea cliffs, wave-cut platforms, gravel beaches, and tidal flats. The coastal topography of Jangyeo, an uninhabited island, consists of sea cliffs and wave-cut platforms. The sedimentary rocks of the research area are mainly composed of conglomerate, sandstone, and shale with developed stratification. In the sedimentary rock strata, dinosaur footprints fossils, ripple marks, mud cracks, faults, and dikes penetrating sedimentary rocks are distributed. The relationship between the geomorphological and geological landscape distributed in the research area and the learning contents of elementary school science, middle school science, and high school earth science I in the current curriculum is as follows. The coastal topography of the study area, such as sea cliffs, wave-cut platforms, gravel beaches, and tidal flats, were formed by erosion and sedimentation on the coast and are related to the learning contents of the "Change of earth's surface” unit of the third grade of elementary school science. Conglomerate, sandstone, shale, strata, stratification, and dinosaur footprints are commonly related to the learning contents of elementary school science, middle school science, and high school earth science Ⅰ. The fault is related to the learning contents of elementary school science and high school earth science Ⅰ. The sedimentary structures, such as graded beddings, ripple marks, mud cracks, geological structures such as joints and columnar joints, and intrusive structures, are related to the learning contents of high school earth science Ⅰ. In this way, various geomorphological and geological landscapes distributed in the research area are judged to have geological educational value in relation to learning contents by school level. In order to educationally utilize the geomorphological and geological landscape of the research area, an outdoor geological learning method according to the three-step outdoor learning model is as follows. In the preparation stage, the teacher introduces the outdoor geological learning place to the students using a map or satellite map. In the outdoor learning stage, students conduct observation and exploration activities at a designated place in the outdoor geological learning sites. Teachers guide students to a designated place to participate in exploration activities. Students engage in activities using pre-prepared inquiry notes, and teachers respond to students' questions if necessary. In the summary stage, after the exploration, students in the classroom present and discuss the organized data by inferring the geological conditions of the past based on the evidence observed and experienced in the outdoor exploration by individual or group. This area is well accessible and safe, and is suitable as an outdoor learning and training place for teachers as well as students for geological learning. In addition, this area is introduced as Solseom natural ecological park in Goseong-gun, attracting many tourists. However, only the walking course is introduced on the installed information board. It is necessary to reset and further update the information board so that general public and students visiting this place can understand the changes and history of the earth and appreciate the natural scenery.
