N/A In this study. the pilot scale experiments were performed using bank-filtered water as raw water in K region of the middle of Nakdong River to select the optimum treatment process that could remove manganese effectively. The processes applied in pilot plant were manganese contact filtration process, aeration oxidation process and bio-film contact filtration process. In the manganese contact filtration the average removal efficiency of manganese was 98.4%(manganese conc. 0.03㎎/L) when manganese concentrations were ranged between 0.80 and 3.40㎎/L and pH was controlled in the range from 7 to 8. The average removal efficiency of aeration oxidation process and bio-film contact filtration process was 58.2% and 85.6% respectively. In conclusion the removal of manganese was effective in the process of manganese contact filtration but aeration oxidation process and bio-film filtration process should be further investigated at various conditions to verify the process effectiveness.

This paper presented the possibility of predicting the fractured state based on the fracture noise characteristics of polyurethane foam used as insulation for LNG fuel tanks. Fracture noise was measured through a microphone during the mechanical test process, and the mechanical test performed three-point and four-point bending and single-edge notch bending under various load point conditions. This study obtained the feasibility of condition monitoring using fracture noise based on the measured fracture noise data.
