Purpose: The purpose of the research was to develop an instrument that could be used in measuring and evaluating the performance of aeromedical evacuation for the flight nurse. Method: Based on literature regarding aeromedical evacuation roles, we developed an instrument evaluating aeromedical evacuation performance for flight nurses. Researchers made a temporary tool and verified both content validity and face validity. Also the reliability and construct validity were verified. Result: The reliability of the instrument was measured by internal consistency. Cronbachs`` α was .99. The method of verification of construct validity was used to known group technique because of small number of Flight nurse. Conclusion: This performance evaluation instrument of aeromedical evacuation for flight nurses was verified by both the reliability and construct validity. In the future, this instrument will be used for evaluation and verification of aero medical evacuation practice by the flight-nurse.

Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the effects of a group cognitive improvement program on cognitive function, depression and self-esteem in elderly individuals with mild cognitive impairment. Methods: This was an experimental study that employed a pre-post design of a non-equivalence control group. The subjects were 52 elderly people with mild cognitive impairment, 25 of whom were assigned to the experimental group and 27 to the control group. The program was conducted for a total of 12 sessions for 60 minutes each. Data were analyzed using the χ2-test, Fisher"s exact test, and Independent t-test with the SPSS 20.0 program. Results: After the intervention, the group who participated showed improvement in all areas of cognitive function based on MMSE-KC (F=26.37, p.<0.001), the Rey Complex Figure Test: copy (F=20.66, p.<0.001), Immediate memory of Seoul Verbal Learning Test-Elderly’s version (F=29.68, p.<0.001), delayed memory (F=45.79 p.<0.001), memory recall (F=28.97, p.<0.001), Forward of Digit Span Test (F=9.25, p=.004), backward (F=8.33, p.=0.006), language comprehension (F=13.42, p.<0.001), and digit symbol coding (F=17.74, p.<0.001) relative to the control group. Moreover depression (F=24.09, p.<0.001) was decreased in program participants, whereas self-esteem (F=40.24, p.<0.001) was increased. Conclusion: The program could be a useful intervention because the results show that the group cognitive improvement program has a significant effect on cognitive function, depression and self-esteem in elderly with mild cognitive impairment.

Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the health related behavior of Airmen, analyze the influencing factors of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and hyperlipidemia and provide basic data to establish a health promotion policy for Airmen. Methods: 1888 Airmen participated in this study from July 21st to August 4th. Each participant completed a questionnaire through the Airforce intranet system. Questionnaires were comprised of health related behavior indicators from a community health survey and diagnostic criteria for hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and hyperlipidemia. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, χ² test, Fisher``s exact test, and logistic regression. Results: The average age of the participants was 28.9 years old. Participants were mostly male (97.2%). The population consisted of officers and non-commissioned officers (46.1%), enlisted (54.4%), and civilian officers (2.4%) that work in the military. Analysis indicated that 33.2% were smokers, and 17.9% were considered high risk drinkers. The average appropriate weight ratio (BMI) was 23.4kg/m² (±2.90) and 5.3% showed a high risk depression rate. 13.6% had hypertension, 2.2% had hyperglycemia, and 12.2% had hyperlipidemia. Older age, greater BMI, and alcohol consumption were shown to have a significant correlation with hypertension (p<.001). Age was the only influencing factor related to hyperglycemia (p<.001). Finally, older age and the lack of anaerobic exercise (less than three times a week) were significantly related to hyperlipidemia (p<.001). Conclusion: This study should be used to propose methods of prevention and management of chronic diseases. Further studies should also focus on applying research data to health promotion policies for the Air force.
