          Synthesis and Structural Analysis of the Diaquabis(ethylenediamine)nickel(II) Bis(p-toluenesulfonate) Monohydrate

          The layer structure of the title compound, $[Ni(en)_2(H_2O)_2](CH_3C_6H_4SO_3)_2(H_2O)$ (en = ethylenediamine), consists of discrete cations, anions, and solvate water molecules linked by a hydrogen bonding network. The central Ni atom of the cation layer has a slightly distorted octahedral coordination geometry with the ethylenediamine ligands functioning as a N,N'-bidentate and the water ligands bonding through oxygen in a trans arrangement. The p-toluenesulfonate of the anion layer has an alternate sulfonate group directed toward opposite side of the cation layer. This layer structure is stabilized by a hydrogen bond involving the O atoms of the sulfonate, the water ligand, solvate water molecule, and the N atoms of the ethylenediamine.

          The title compound, $[Co(H_2O)_6](CH_3C_6H_4SO_3)_2$, has been prepared and characterized by X-ray crystallography. The crystal structure of the compound demonstrates a layered material constituted by hexaaquacobalt (II) cations and p-toluenesulfonate anions. Geometrical environment of the cobalt atom is octahedrally coordinated by water molecules. The p-toluenesulfonate anions are arranged with the sulfonate groups turned toward opposite side of the layer, alternately. The layered structure is stabilized by the hydrogen bondings between the ligated water molecules and the anionic sulfonate oxygen atoms.

          Inclusion selectivity of a three-dimensional piperazine-ligated cyanocadmate host complex, [Cdx(CN)₂x{HN(CH₂CH₂)₂NH}y]ㆍzG, has been investigated for benzene (B), toluene (T), ethylbenzene (E), o- (O), m- (M), and p-xylene (P) isomers as the aromatic guest molecules. From the binary, ternary and quarternary guest mixtures of E and xylene isomer (X), the order of inclusion selectivity in the host complex is O>E>P>M. From the binary to quinary BTX mixtures, the order of preference in the complex is seen to be B>T>O≫P>M.

          [단신] 암모니움 이온을 가진 카드뮴 호스트 착물의 방향족 게스트 분자에 대한 포접선택성 변화

          Inclusion selectivities of the cyanocadmate host complexes with ammonium oniums, [Cdx(CN)_(2x)][oniumㆍzG] (onium = NMe₃Et^+, NMeEt₃^+ and NEt₄^+, G = guest), have been investigated for C_6H_6 (B), PhMe (T), PhEt (E), ortho (O), meta (M), and para (P) isomers of C_6H₄Me₂as the aromatic guest molecules. From the binary, ternary, quaternary and quinary mixed guests of B, T, E, O, M and P, the order of preference in the NMe₃Et+-host is B≫T>P≒O≒M and E>O≫P≒M; in the NMeEt₃^+-host is T>B>P≫O≒M and E>P≫M>O; in the NEt₄^+-host is B≫T≒O≒M≒P. However, the NEt₄^+-host complexes of E, O, M and P mixed-guests were not obtained. These inclusion selectivities were compared to our previous results of the NMe₄^+-host; T>B>P≫M>O and E>P≫M>O.

          고성능 액체 크로마토그래피에 의한 식품 및 비타민 제제중의 지용성 비타민의 동시 분석에 관한 연구

          식품 및 비타민 제제중에 존재하는 지용성 비타민의 추출 및 동시 정량법을 검토하였다. 역상 액체크로마토그래피에 의한 지용성 비타민의 동시 분리 및 정량은 메탄올 : 물 = 95 : 5 이동상으로 Novapak $C_{18}$ 컬럼하에서 이루어졌다. 비타민의 검출에는 UV검출기를 사용하였으며 검출감도를 증가시키기 위하여 분석중 UV 검출파장을 각각의 비타민 용리시간에 따라 최대흡수 파장인 330, 265, 285 및 290nm로 변경하였다. 지용성 비타민의 분리 및 분석은 40분안에 완료되었다. 시료의 전처리에는 알카리 가수분해법과 효소가수분해법을 이용하였으며, 비타민의 추출은 액체-액체추출법과 액체-고체추출법을 이용하였다. 비타민 A,D, E 분석에는 알카리 가수분해법 및 효소가수분해법이 비타민 K 분석에는 효소가수분해법만이 좋은 결과를 나타냈으며, 비타민 추출에는 액체-액체 추출시 diethyl ether, pentane 및 n-hexane이, 액체-고체 추출시 silica 카트리지가 좋은 추출효과를 나타냈다. The extraction method and quantitative analysis for the fat-soluble vitamins present in food stuffs and vitamin products have been investigated. The simultaneous separation and analysis of the vitamins by reverse phase high performance liquid chromatographic method was conducted using an isocratic elution with methanol : water (95 : 5) eluent on a Novapak $C_{18}$ column. The detection of vitamins was achieved by a variable wavelength UV detector. To improve the detection sensitivity detection wavelengths were set at the highest absorption bands such as 330, 265, 285, and 290nm for the respective vitamins. The analysis for the fat-soluble vitamins was finished within 40 minutes. Alkaline hydrolysis and enzymatic hydrolysis were investigated for the sample preparation; and liquid-liquid extraction and liquid-solid extraction were attempted for the extraction of vitamins. Both hydrolysis methods were turned out to be appropriate for the analysis for vitamins A, D, and E, while for the analysis of vitamin K the enzymatic hydrolysis method demonstrated better results. Diethyl ether, pentane, and n-hexane were found to give higher recovery for the liquid-liquid extraction and silica cartridge for the liquid-solid extraction.

          Synthesis and Structural Characterization of the One-Dimensional Cadmium(II) Complex with Thiocyanate and 4-Methylimidazole Ligands

          One-dimensional coordination polymer of cadmium(II) complex, $[Cd(SCN)_2(C_4H_6N_2]_n$, has been prepared and characterized by X-ray single crystallography. Structure analysis reveals that each cadmium(II) atom is six-coordinated in distorted octahedral fashion with $CdS_2N_4$ composition. $CdS_2N_4$ composition contains two S and two N atoms from four thiocyanates and tow N atoms from two 4-methylimidazole ligands. Central cadmium(II) atoms are run in parallel to the a-axis and are doubly bridged with neighboring cadmium(II) atoms by the thiocyanate and isothiocyanate ligands. Thus, this complex has a one-dimensional polymer structure in which the 4-methylimidazole is in the trans conformation.

          수질 시료 중의 Pesticide Priority Pollutants 동시분석에 관한 연구

          미국의 환경청이 지정한 129종의 priority pollutants 중 16종의 유기살충제를 대상물질로 선정하여 수질시료 중의 극미량 분석방법을 연구하였다. 분석방법으로는 기체크로마토그래프-전자포획 및 기체크로마토그래프/질량분석기-SIM(selected ion moitoring)법을 검출방법으로 정하고, 시료용액의 추출 및 농축방법으로는 용매추출법(liquid-liquid extraction)과 고체상 추출법(solid-phase extraction)을 비교 연구하였다. 각 화합물들의 회수율, 상대표준편차 및 검출한계 등을 측정하여 EPA 분석법을 대체할 수 있는지의 가능성을 조사하였다. The simultaneous analysis of samples, 16 organic pesticides in water among 129 priority pollutants listed by EPA, was performed by GC-ECD (electron capture detector) and GC/MS-SIM (selected ion monitoring). Two extraction procedures, liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) and solid-phase extraction (SPE), were studied as an extraction and concentration method. Accuracy and precision of the methods were measured by the calculation of mean recovery and mean relative standard deviation. Finally, the detection limits, the experimental limitations, and prospects were discussed.

          수용액중에서의 Nd(III) 및 Ho(III)의 Hypersensitive Transition에 관한 연구

          수용액중에서 Nd(III)와 Ho(III) 이온의 hypersensitive 전이대의 oscillator strength에 미치는 몇가지 리간드의 효과를 연구하였다. 이때에 사용한 리간드는 furoate, anthranilate와 squarate이다. 각 착화합물에 있어서 금속-리간드 결합간에 존재하는 공유결합성을 리간드의 $pK_a$와 착화합물의 hypersensitive 전이대의 oscillator strength 사이에 정립된 관계에 근거를 두고 논하였다. The effects of the various ligands on the oscillator strengths of the hypersensitive transitions of Nd(III) and Ho(III) have been studied in aqueous solution. The ligands used in the study are furoate, anthranilate, and squarate. The covalent character of the metal-ligand bond in the complex is discussed on the basis of the correlation diagram between pKa of the ligands and the oscillator strengths of the complexes previously reported.
