        망막대동맥류 파열 후 발생한 전층 황반원공

        Purpose: To report a case of a macular hole formation following rupture of retinal arterial macroaneurysm. Methods: A 75-year-old female visited our clinic with a chief complaint of decreased vision in her left eye. We completed full ocular examinations, including fluorescein angiography (FAG), and optical coherence tomography (OCT). Results: The best corrected visual acuity was 0.6 in the right eye and 0.04 in the left. Fundus examination showed a retinal arterial macroaneurysm in supratemporal artery of the left eye. Fluorescein angiography showed hyperfluorescence in the macroaneurysm site. The optical coherence tomography showed macular and submacular hemorrhage. We performed intravitreal gas injection to treat the submacular hemorrhage. One month after the intravitreal gas injection, a full-thickness macular hole developed.

        시삭증후군 환자에서 빛간섭단층촬영의 소견

        Purpose: To report a case of optic tract syndrome in which optical coherence tomography (OCT) demonstrated the specific findings of the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL). Case summary: A 32-year-old male patient visited the hospital with right side visual field defect in both eyes that occurred immediately after a traffic accident 8 months prior. The visual acuity of both eyes was normal, and a relative afferent papillary defect was evident in the right eye. In addition, suspicious band atrophy of the right optic disc and thinning of the superior and inferior arcuate bundle were observed in the left eye. On visual field examination, homonymous hemianopia was present. Optic tract syndrome was suspected, although there was no abnormality of the visual tract on MRI. On fast RNFL thickness 3.4 scan, a thinning of RNFL in the nasal and temporal segments in the right eye and superior and inferior segments in the left eye were observed. Based on the findings, optic tract syndrome was diagnosed in the left eye. Conclusions: We report specific OCT findings which can be useful when making a diagnosis of optic tract syndrome.

        망막대동맥류에 동반된 내경계막하출혈의 수술적 제거 후 발생한 황반하 재출혈

        Purpose: To report a case of a recurrent macular hemorrhage that developed after surgical removal of the internal limiting membrane (ILM) for subintimal hemorrhage due to retinal macroaneurysm. Case Summary: A 75-year-old female was admitted to the hospital complaining of decreased vision in the left eye which had started 3 weeks previously. The best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) of the right and left eye was 0.7 and 0.03, respectively. The intraocular pressure (IOP) of the right and left eye was 10 mm Hg and 12 mm Hg, respectively. On the fundus examination, macular preretinal and subretinal hemorrhage was observed and a diagnosis of retinal arterial macroaneurym of the inferonasal major artery was made. Vitrectomy was performed. After indocyanine green dye staining, the sub-ILM hemorrhage was treated with removal of the ILM. At postoperative day 3, the annular chorioretinal folds were observed due to the hypotony (4 mm Hg). However, the absence of leakage was confirmed through the sclerotomy site. At postoperative day 8, recurrent submacular hemorrhage occurred and the hemorrhage was observed to have spread after intravitreal C3F8 gas injection and when the patient was placed in the prone position. At postoperative 4 months, the hemorrhage that had invaded the macular area was completely resolved. The BCVA was 0.3, respectively. Conclusions: When removing a sub-ILM hemorrhage due to retinal macroaneurysm, recurrent hemorrhage can occur especially in a patient with ocular hypotony, as in the present case report.         안내염 환자에서 안구적출술 또는 안구내용제거술을 시행하게 되는 위험 인자

        Purpose: To evaluate the risk factors associated with enucleation or evisceration in endophthalmitis patients. Methods: The medical records of endophthalmitis cases from January 1995 to July 2006 were reviewed retrospectively. The cases were divided into 2 groups, the enucleation/evisceration group (36 eyes of 36 patients) who underwent enucleation or evisceration and the intraocular procedures group (61 eyes of 60 patients) who received intravitreal antibiotics injection and/or vitrectomy. We analyzed these cases with respect to age, sex, initial visual acuity, causes of endophthalmitis, systemic disease, and causative organisms. Results: Older age (p=0.002), women (17/32, p=0.027), no light perception at presentation (33/37, p<0.001), endophthalmitis associated with corneal ulcer (25/25, p<0.001), and diabetes mellitus (14/20, p=0.001) were significantly associated with enucleation or evisceration. Conclusions: Older age, poor initial visual acuity, endophthalmitis associated with corneal ulcer, and diabetes mellitus were strongly associated with enucleation or evisceration. If any of these factors are present, more intensive treatments are warranted to prevent loss of the eye.

        안외상 후 내안각에 발생한 아포크린땀낭종 1예

        Purpose: To report a case of apocrine sudoriferous cyst in the left medial canthal region occurred after trauma. Case summary: A 75-year-old woman was referred for mass in the medial canthal region after trauma. The patient had got injured and been sutured on left medial canthal region when she was 11 years of age. The painless mass in the left canthal region has occurred after that. The orbital computed tomography showed a 20ⅹ12ⅹ19 mm-sized cystic mass. On physical examination, left telecanthus, left exotropia and left hypertropia were also observed. The cyst contained turbid grayish fluid and was removed completely through transcutaneous incision. On histopathologic examination, the cyst was confirmed to apocrine sudoriferous cyst lined by two-layered cuboidal epithelia.

        모야모야병(Moyamoya disease)에서 발생한 안동맥폐쇄 1예

        Purpose: We report a case of ophthalmic artery occlusion at Moyamoya disease Method: A 64-year-old man who had followed up neurosurgical clinic after diagnosed with Moyamoya disease ten months before presented with sudden visual loss in his right eye. Generalized ophthalmic examinations including fluorescein angiography (FA), electroretinography (ERG) were performed. Results: At the first visit, corrected visual acuity was counting fingers at 30cm of right eye, 0.8 of left eye. Right eye presented relative afferent pupillary defect. Dilated fundus examination revealed a pale posterior pole and cherry-red spot at right eye. FA demonstrated choroidal filling delay and prolonged arteriovenous transit time. ERG demonstrated decreased amplitude of a and b wave. Twenty months after the initial visit, retinal arterial attenuation and a pale optic disc were revealed.

        Al-Ti 혼합 분말 슬러리를 이용한 강의 알루미나이징처리 방법

        In this study, we attempted to develop a convenient aluminizing process, using Al-Ti mixed slurry as an aluminum source, to control the Al content of the aluminized layer as a result of a one-step process and can be widely adopted for coating complex-shaped components. The aluminizing process was carried out by the heat treatment on disc and rod shaped S45C steel substrates with Al-Ti mixed slurries that were composed of various mixed ratios (wt%) of Al and Ti powders. The surface of the resultant aluminized layer was relatively smooth with no obvious cracks. The aluminized layers mainly contain an Fe-Al compound as the bulk phase. However, the Al concentration and the thickness of the aluminized layer gradually decrease as the Ti proportion among Al-Ti mixed slurries increases. It has also been shown that the Al-Ti compound layer, which formed on the substrate during heat treatment, easily separates from the substrate. In addition, the incorporation of Ti into the substrate surface during heat treatment was not observed.

        원발성 항인지질증후군에서 발생한 양안의 망막중심정맥폐쇄

        Purpose: To Report a case of bilateral central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) caused by primary antiphospholipid syndrome. Methods: A 38-year-old male is referred to the department of ophthalmology for the bilateral visual loss. Results: On initial visit, both visual acuity was 0.3. Upon consider changing to fundoscopic examination, the patient was diagnosed with bilateral CRVO. We performed hematologic tests including thrombophilia examination. There were no abnormal findings on routine hematologic tests. Antinuclear antibody and rheumatoid factor were negative but anticardiolipin antibodies presented high titer, on two occasions six weeks apart. We prescribed oral aspirin and performed intravitreal bevacizumab injection under the diagnosis of bilateral CRVO in primary antiphospholipid syndrome. Conclusions: It may be necessary to check antiphospolipid antibody in cases of bilateral CRVO in young patients without medical problem. J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 48(10):1433-1437, 2007

        글리신-질산염 연소법으로 합성된 SrAl<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4</sub>:Eu<sup>2+</sup>,Dy<sup>3+</sup> 형광체의 발광 및 장잔광 특성

        A $SrAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+},Dy^{3+}$ phosphor powder with stuffed tridymite structure was synthesized by glycine-nitrate combustion method. The luminescence, formation process and microstructure of the phosphor powder were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL). The XRD patterns show that the as-synthesized $SrAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+},Dy^{3+}$ phosphor was an amorphous phase. However, a crystalline $SrAl_2O_4 $ phase was formed by calcining at $1200^{\circ}C$ for 4h. From the SEM analysis, also, it was found that the as-synthesized $SrAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+},Dy^{3+}$ phosphor was in irregular porous particles of about 50 ${\mu}m$, while the calcined phosphor was aggregated in spherical particles with radius of about 0.5 ${\mu}m$. The emission spectrum of as-synthesized $SrAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+},Dy^{3+}$ phosphor did not appear, due to the amorphous phase. However, the emission spectrum of the calcined phosphor was observed at 520 nm (2.384eV); it showed green emission peaking, in the range of 450~650 nm. The excitation spectrum of the $SrAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+},Dy^{3+}$ phosphor exhibits a maximum peak intensity at 360 nm (3.44eV) in the range of 250~480 nm. After the removal of the pulse Xe-lamp excitation (360 nm), also, the decay time for the emission spectrum was very slow, which shows the excellent longphosphorescent property of the phosphor, although the decay time decreased exponentially.

        폴리 실리콘을 이용한 금속-반도체-금속 광 검출기의 열처리에 따른 전기적 특성

        This study investigated the effects of the post annealing temperatures on the electrical and interfacial properties of a metal-semiconductor-metal photodetector(MSM-PD) device. The interdigitate type MSM-PD devices had the structure Al(500 nm) / Ti(200 nm) / poly-Si(500 nm). Structural analyses of the MSM-PD devices were performed by employing X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and transmission electron microscope(TEM). Electrical characteristics of the MSM-PD were also examined using current-voltage(I-V) measurements. The optimal post annealing condition for the Schottky contact of MSM-PD devices are $350^{\circ}C$-30minutes. However, as the annealing temperature and time are increased, electrical characteristics of MSM-PD device are degraded. Especially, for the annealing conditions of $400^{\circ}C$-180minutes and $500^{\circ}C$-30minutes, the I-V measurement itself was impossible. These results are closely related to the solid phase reactions at the interface of MSM-PD device, which result in the formation of intermetallic compounds such as $Al_3Ti$ and $Ti_7Al_5Si_{12}$.
