The so called near-infra-red(NIR) heating system has advantages over the convectional convection-based systems in terms of heating uniformity and energy efficiency. However, when the glass temperature of the radiation lamp goes over a certain limit, it gets blackened and over-heated. The life of the radiation module then becomes severely limited. The high operating-temperature and radiative-heat-transfer of the system hinder detailed analysis of the reliability problem with an experimental approach alone. We develop a three dimensional heat-transfer model of the NIR heating system that can provide the temperature distribution on the glass lamp and the performance of the cooling system. We use a ray-tracing model for the radiation transport. The model is then conjugated with a commercial CFD code that solved the conductive and convective transports. The results of the simulation are compared with test data and a good overall agreement is shown.
단면형상 변화에 따른 전열교환기 열전달 특성변화에 대한 연구

It is a critical task to keep the ventilation system working in a proper and efficient manner in large multi-storey buildings, and the enthalpy exchanger is becoming an increasingly important part of the ventilation system by playing the function of channeling heat and moisture. We present a computational study on the heat transfer performance of the cross-flow enthalpy exchanger, which is in large use for residential buildings. The ducts are considered whose crosssectional shapes resemble triangle and longitudinal centerline a cosine wave. It is shown that, as the cross-sectional shape departs from triangle, the heat transfer performance of the duct tends to deteriorate. Also, applying the wave-like shape to the longitudinal centerline of the duct increases the rate of heat transfer and the applied pressure-gradient at the same time. The origin of the performance variations in the cases considered are quantitatively analyzed and discussed.
Dielectric packed - bed 플라스마 반응기를 사용한 NOx 제거 특성에 관한 연구

The removal characteristics of nitrogen oxides (NOx) by the dielectric (Al₂O₃) packed-bed plasma reactor are experimentally investigated. Reactor is packed with 5[㎜] diameter Al₂O₃beads, and was designed to remove NOx at atmospheric pressures from the moving pollution source such as diesel automobile. The experiments were conducted for applied voltages from 5 to 10[㎸], flue gas rate from 2 to 5[ℓ/min] and frequency from 0.5 to 2[㎑]. The NOx removal efficiency significantly increased with increasing applied voltage. Especially removal rate significantly increased with increasing frequency. However, in this experiment discharged power was relatively high.
