        The wormwood is one of the plants which occur widely throughout the world. Though the precise data on the entire chemical composition of mugwort leaves are not available, the major principles which have been found so far include inulin, alkaloid, thujon, sesquiterpene and several vitamins. Santonin, a parasiticide, is one of the glucosides extracted from the limited species of wormwood. It has long been known in herb medicine that the plants of this family has not only strong hemostatic, analgesic and parasiticidal actions but also therapeutic effects for diarrhea, stomachache and asthma. In recent pharmaceutical botany the wormwood is introduced to have antipyretic and astringent actions also. The mugwort(Artemisia asiatica Nakai) is the most common species of wormwood that occurs in Korea. The usage of this edible leaves of mugwort is rather various. It is used not only for wormwood bath but also as forage, moxa and medicinal agents. Recently Kim et al reported from their study on the effect of mugwort on the motility of isolated intestine of rabbits that tonus and motility were markedly enhanced by mugwort but this effect of mugwort on intestinal motility was almost completely blocked by atropine suggesting that activity of mugwort was exerted through its cholinergic effect. It was the findings of Kim et al that prompted the authors to do the present experiment. The present study was undertaken to investigate effects of mugwort(Artemisia asiatica Nakai) juice on the respiration and blood pressure in cats. And also studied was the mechanism of depressor action of Artemisia asiatica Nakai Juice (AAJ). The results obtained are as follows; 1) It was observed that mean arterial blood pressure and heart rate were decreased markedly by AAJ. Following administration of 0.15 ml/kg and 0.3 ml/kg AAJ into cats the maximum depressor responses observed were $77.5{\pm}2.2\;mmHg$ and $94.0{\pm}3.7\;mmHg$ respectively. 2) Depressor responses to AAJ were blocked markedly by atropine whereas the responses were not affected by propranolol and dibenamine. Therefore it is strongly inferred that depressor action of AAJ results mainly from its cholinergic effect. This inference was further substantiated by the fact that heart rate change which invariably accompanies depressor responses to AAJ was almost completely abolished by atropinization. 3) After administration of AAJ into cats frequency of respiration was markedly increased while depth of respiration decreased during first 2-3 seconds.

        Nb 및 Cr 첨가에 따른 지르코늄 합금의 부식거동

        The effects of Nb and Cr addition on the microstructure, corrosion and oxide characteristics of Zr based alloys were investigated. The corrosion tests were performed in a pressurized water reactor simulated-loop system at $360^{\circ}C$. The microstructures were examined using OM and TEM, and the oxide properties were characterized by low-angle X-ray diffraction and TEM. The corrosion test results up to 360 days revealed that the corrosion rates were considerably affected by Cr content but not Nb content. The corrosion resistance of the Zr-xNb-0.1Sn-yCr quaternary alloys was improved by an increasing Nb/Cr ratio. The crystal structure of the precipitates was affected by a variation of the Nb/Cr ratio. The Zr-Nb beta-enriched precipitates were mainly formed in the high Nb/Cr ratio alloy while $Zr(NbCr)_2$ precipitates were frequently observed in the low Nb/Cr ratio alloy. The studies of oxide characteristics revealed that the corrosion resistance was related to the crystal structure of the precipitate.

        한국산 짧은나래반날개속의 분류학적 연구

        A taxonomic study of Korean Leptusa Kraatz is presented. Two species-L. (Drepanoleptusa) deplanata (Sawada) and L. (Eospisalia) kitazawai kitazawai (Sawada)-are recognized. The genus and species are recorded for the first time in Korea. A key, diagnoses, habitus photographs and illustrations of diagnostic characters are provided. 한국산 미기록속인 짧은나래반날개속(Leptusa Kraatz) (신칭)에 속한 두 종-짧은나래반날개[L. (Drepanoleptusa) deplanata (Sawada)] (신칭)와 붉은짧은나래반날개[L. (Eospisalia) kitazawai kitazawai (Sawada)] (신칭)-를 국내에 처음으로 보고한다. 두 종에 대한 검색표, 진단 형질 기재와 성충의 사진 및 주요 형질에 대한 그림을 함께 제시한다.

      • 인후두역류질환 환자에서 8주 간의 양성자 펌프 억제제 사용에 따른 역류성 인후두염의 증상지수 및 소견점수의 변화양상에 대한 연구

        Background and Objectives : Proton pump inhibitors(PPIs) improve the symptoms of laryngopharyngeal reflux(LPR). But there is little reports about the changes of each items in reflux symptom index (RSI) and reflux finding score (RFS) after PPIstreatment. The purpose of this study is to analyze the changes of pre- and post-treatment score in each RSI and RFS items after 8 weeks medication with proton pump inhibitors in laryngopharyngeal reflux patients. Methods : Prospective study. Among the patients who had visited the department of otolaryngology from January 2007 to December 2008, 91 patients who had shown scores greater than 13 on the RSI and/or 7 on the RFS were studied. All patients received PPIs once daily before breakfast for 8 weeks. RSI and RFS were assessed at initial, four weeks and eight weeks after medication. Result: All RSI items were improved (p < 0.05). The globus sense followed by throat clearing, heartburns and hoarseness showed high initial RSI score than other items. And globus sense, throat clearing, hoarseness and heartburn were improved significantly more than others items. But only posterior commissure hypertrophy of RFS was improved significantly more than others items. Conclusion: Empiric PPIs therapy reduced the RSI scores and more effective for symptoms such as globus sense, throat clearing, hoarseness and heartburn among suspected LPR patients. In RFS, only posterior commissure hypertrophy has improved significantly. However, the changes of each categories of RFS were minimal (average: 0.16), therefore clinical significance is restricted in RFS.

        Maxent 모델을 이용한 양봉꿀벌의 서울시 수분 잠재환경 분석

        The honeybee serves for most entomophilous flowers. They are a core species for maintaining the ecological system. Though the urban ecological system needs bees' mediation of pollination as well, we have little understanding on how the honeybee reacts to the physical environments of an urban city. This study is a basic research to enhance the potential environment for pollination in an urban area and aims to review the urban environmental variables which are highly linked to the pollination mediations by the honeybee. The study composed a Maxent model by adopting nine urban environmental variables and the locations of the Apis mellifera's appearances around 52 spots in Seoul. The variables reflect the ecology of the Apis mellifera. Of the urban environmental variables used for the model composition, six variables were found as not having meaningful correlations with the Apis mellifera's appearances and finally, building coverage, actual vegetation and land cover were selected as the appearance variables of the Apis mellifera. The AUC, the reliability indicator of the final model was 0.791 (sd=0.077). And the importance data of the variables used for the model were 55.6%, 27.9%, and 16.5% for building coverage, actual vegetation and land cover, respectively. The result of the study showed that the building coverage has the highest correlation with the appearance of the honeybee. And, as per the actual vegetation, the artificially tree planted area as well as the cultivated field and meadow in an urban area were functioning as the most important environmental conditions for the honeybee to be inhabitable. The study is expected to be utilized as the base material for the urban planning and park green area planning to enhance the potential environment for pollination in an urban area.

        중소기업의 기술혁신 지원을 위한 전문가(Project-Specialist)제도 도입 방안

        IT중소기업(Small and Medium-size Enterprises)의 기술개발은 대학, 출연연구소 및 대기업의 기술 개발과는 달리 인력, 재원, 규모 둥에서 환경이 매우 열악하다. 중소기업들이 열악한 환경은 정부가 지원하는 기술개발 출연사업에 대한 과열경쟁을 불러오고, 기술개발 규모는 과제당 3억원 내외로 적은 예산을 다수의 기업에 나누어 지원하는 현상이 발생하고 있다. 다수 소액과제를 지원관리하면서 연구개발 내용보다는 기업의 부실화 둥 기술개발 외적인 관리에 치중하게 된다. 따라서 실태조사 등 불필요한 현장 감사가 진행될 수밖에 없는데, 감독목적의 실태조사보다 기술개발을 주관하는 중소기업의 기술애로 해소 및 상업화 등 노하우 지원이 시급한 실정이다. 따라서 중소기업의 실질적인 기술개발 지원을 위해서 대학이나 연구소 등에 근무하는 기술개발 및 상용화 전문가들을 중소기업의 기술개발 지원 전문가로 활용하는 방안을 제안한다. Small and Medium-size Enterprises's R & D Program progress is hard than the university, government R & D agency and big enterprises. this environment make heat competition among the small and medium-size enterprises and subsidies little budget for many enterprises. from the management agency of the Institute of Information Technology Assessment(IITA)'s most of the activities focusing to the enterprises management not R & D Program. so, this paper suggestion an adaption on the project specialist system for the small and mediumlTenterprises'stechnologyinnovation'.

        판형열교환기의 세브론각에 따른 증발 열전달특성 및 압력강하에 대한 실험적 연구

        Experiments on the evaporation heat transfer and pressure drop in the brazed type plate heat exchangers were performed using refrigerants R410A and R22. To investigate the geometric effect, plate heat exchangers with the same pitch and height but different 45$^{\circ}$, 35$^{\circ}$and 20$^{\circ}$chevron angles are used. Tests were conducted fur the ranges of the mass flux of refrigerant from 13 kg/m$^2$s to 34 kg/m$^2$s, the evaporation temperatures of 15$^{\circ}C$, 1$0^{\circ}C$ and 5$^{\circ}C$, vapor quality from 0.15 to 0.95 and the heat flux from 2.5 kW/m$^2$to 8.5 kW/m$^2$. The evaporation heat transfer coefficients and pressure drops were measured. Most of flow patterns are in the chum flow regime and become close to the annular flow for increasing the mass flux and the vapor quality. The heat transfer coefficient increases with increasing the evaporation temperature at a given mass flux in all plate heat exchangers. Also, the pressure drop increases with increasing the mass flux and the quality and decreasing the evaporation temperature and the chevron angle.

        초등수학 교과서 표현의 학습자 이해 가능성 분석

        The purpose of this study is to analyze expressions in the first and second grade math textbooks in elementary school in the aspect of possibilities of learners' understanding and propose proper directions for expressions in math textbooks to increase the possibilities of their understanding. The findings show that there were four types of expression errors and five types of mathematical errors in the aspects of expression method and content, respectively.

        저온 Cu/Ag-Ag/Cu 본딩에서의 Ag 나노막 효과

        차세대 반도체 기술은 이종소자 집적화(heterogeneous integration)를 이용한 시스템-인-패키징(system-inpackage, SIP) 기술로 발전하고 있고, 저온 Cu 본딩은 SIP 구조의 성능 향상과 미세 피치 배선을 위해서 매우 중요한 기술이라 하겠다. 본 연구에서는 porous한 Ag 나노막을 이용하여 Cu 표면의 산화 방지 효과와 저온 Cu 본딩의 가능성을 조사하였다. 100℃에서 200℃의 저온 영역에서 Ag가 Cu로 확산되는 것보다 Cu가 Ag로 확산되는 것이 빠르게 관찰되었고, 이는 저온에서 Ag를 이용한 Cu간의 고상 확산 본딩이 가능함을 나타내었다. 따라서 Ag 나노막을 이용한 Cu 본딩을 200℃에서 진행하였고, 본딩 계면의 전단 강도는 23.27 MPa로 측정되었다. System-in-package (SIP) technology using heterogeneous integration is becoming the key of next-generation semiconductor packaging technology, and the development of low temperature Cu bonding is very important for high-performance and fine-pitch SIP interconnects. In this study the low temperature Cu bonding and the anti-oxidation effect of copper using porous Ag nanolayer were investigated. It has been found that Cu diffuses into Ag faster than Ag diffuses into Cu at the temperatures from 100℃ to 200℃, indicating that solid state diffusion bonding of copper is possible at low temperatures. Cu bonding using Ag nanolayer was carried out at 200℃, and the shear strength after bonding was measured to be 23.27 MPa.
