        A depot encircled with contact oxidation canal has been developed to improve water qualityr. The depot is aimed to settle suspended solid in the flow. The oxidation canal is to contact the pollutants and oxygen in the surface of gravel filter to purify the water. The deposit of the pollutants in the depot is released by the drainage culvert located at the bottom of it. Aeration nozzle is installed to supply enough oxygen to the gravel filter layers in the bottom of the encircled oxidation canal. The bottom slope of the oxidation canal is mild enough to detent the flow and improve oxidation efficiency. From the experiment it is founded that 91% of SS. 39% of TN. 63% of TP and 77% of COD were removed in the system. The treatment efficiency of total nitrogen is rather lower than any other components, however, it would be higher when some floating vegetation is added in the primary clarifier. The depot and oxidation canal system would be useful to purify the flows in the mouth of the reservoirs or at the outlet of the drainage canal.

      • 인공 조성된 습지의 육상곤충 및 저서성대형무척추동물 분포 특성

        습지는 일반적인 육상환경 또는 수환경과는 달리 독특한 환경적 요소를 포함하는 생태계를 형성 한다. 습지의 동물분류군 중 곤충류는 가장 많은 종을 포함하고 있다. 이러한 곤충류들도 각기 서 식처에 따라 종 특이성을 보이고 있으며, 특히 식물상과 매우 밀접한 관계를 가지고 있다. 본 조사 는 인공 간척습지에 분포하는 육상곤충과 수서곤충 상을 파악하고, 이를 바탕으로 간척습지 생태 계 관리 및 보전을 위한 기초조사를 목적으로 한다. 본 연구의 조사시기 및 지점은 경기도 안산시 소재에 있는 인공 습지에서 생물이 출현하는 계절 적 특성을 고려하여 2012년 5월부터 10월까지 총 3회에 걸쳐 조사가 이루어졌다. 육상곤충 조사는 이동성을 고려하여 습지 전체를 대상으로 조사하였다. 한편 저서성대형무척추동물의 조사지점은 습지의 수로나 웅덩이를 중심으로 1개 지점씩 선정하여 총 4개 지점에 대해 조사하였다. 육상곤충의 채집은 일반적인 채집방법인 포충망을 이용하여 채집하였으며, 저서성대형무척추동 물의 현장조사는 정량적 방법과 정성적인 방법을 병행하였다. 정량 채집된 육상곤충 및 수서곤충 은 군집의 안정도를 평가하기 위하여 우점도지수, 종 다양도, 종 풍부도, 종 균등도의 4가지 항목을 산출하였다. 육상곤충에 대한 현지조사 결과 10목 45과 85종 883개체가 조사되었다. 분류군별 출현 종 수의 경우, 딱정벌레목이 17종(20.0%)으로 가장 많은 종들이 분포하는 것으로 조사되었으며, 파리목과 노린재목이 각각 13종(15.3%), 잠자리목이 12종(14.1%), 메뚜기목이 8종(9.4%) 등의 순으로 확인 되었고, 분류군별 출현 개체수의 경우, 노린재목이 234개체로 가장 많은 개체가 조사되었으며, 딱 정벌레목이 180개체, 파리목이 136개체 등의 순으로 확인되었다. 출현종 조성을 분석한 결과 초지 등지에 널리 분포하는 종이 우세하게 분포하는 것으로 조사되었다. 초지 등지에 널리 분포하며, 개 체크기가 작고 군서하는 애긴노린재가 우점종, 말매미충이 아우점종으로 확인되었으며, 군집분석결 과 안정적인 군집구조를 형성하는 것으로 분석되었다(그림 1). 저서성대형무척추동물에 대한 현지조사 결과 2문 3강 7목 14과 17종 307개체가 조사되었다. 딱 정벌레목이 5종(29.4%)으로 가장 많은 종이 분포하는 것으로 조사되었으며, 잠자리목이 4종 (23.5%), 노린재목이 3종(17.6%) 등의 순으로 확인되었고, 분류군별 출현개체수의 경우 노린재목이 104개체로 가장 많은 개체가 조사되었고, 십각목이 ``382개체 등의 순으로 확인되었다. 정수성 수계 에 널리 분포하는 새뱅이가 우점종으로 확인되었으며, 섭식기능군 중 잡아먹는 무리(PR)가 12종 (70.6%), Zone 1이 13종으로 가장 많은 종이 조사되었다. 수서곤충류의 경우 4목 11과 14종 (82.3%) 214개체(69.7%)로 비곤충류에 비해 높은 점유율을 나타내었다.

        By the explosive increase of population and industrialization the security of water resources is required, and water resource pollution problem is emerging as a serious social issue. For the ongoing Saemankeum project, lots of efforts are being put together to manage the water quality of the Saemankeum above a certain level, and it is sure that water quality management problem of main inflows from Mankyung River and Dongjin River is very important. Based upon the water quality data of Mankyung River this report examines its correlative characteristics by water quality sampling point factors and the water pollution resource factors, and subjects to provide elementary data for efficient water quality management of Mankyung River.

        In recent, industrialization increases the level of pollution load in sea areas, and the inflows of pollutants to public sea areas cause sudden and wide-range of influence to the water quality and the ecosystem. To prepare for these kinds of unpredictable water pollution issues, the necessity is emerging to build an automatic water quality monitoring system, which can monitor and alarm the water quality changes of the subject sea areas. For the ongoing installation plan of the automatic water quality monitoring system around the Saemankeum sea area, this report compares and analyzes its installation conditions as well as the physical and chemical characteristics of the in-situ type and the water-sampling type of the automatic water quality monitoring equipments, and subjects to provide elementary data for the system installation in the Saemankeum.

        새만금 하구역의 이화학적 환경요인에 따른 수질 평가

        The objective of this study was to evaluate chemical water quality by hourly monitoring(25hr) of Saemangeum esturary. For this study, we selected 2 sites like a Mangyong Bridge(St. 6) and Dongjin Bridge(St. 7). Inflow of salt water was not detected during low tide(maximum 553, 508cm) of all stations, while the salinity rises were detected in spring tide(750cm). When 602m of maximum tide was reached, salinity concentration was increased at St. 7, while there was no change in St. 6. Therefore, We know that salinity variation is greatly influenced by tide height at survey site. Also, significant variance of salinity(p<0.05) was found between St. 6 and St. 7 because dike construction made the flood tide move into the Dongjin river. Total suspened solids(TSS) concentration was increased because of the river runoff at St. 6, and also the turbulance and resuspension according to salt intrusion at St. 7. During the high tide, the water discharge from the sea seemed to dilute the nutrient but to elevate TSS concentration in St. 7. Silicate and nitrate concentrations in the studied site were decreased by the mixing of sea water, whereas the evident trend of phosphate concentration was not found. This result can be explained by the phosphorus condition. Phosphorus exists inactive when it is affected by hydrated iron and adsorbed onto suspended matters. Compared to the environmental conditions of the St. 6 and St. 7, physical factors such as temperature, dissolved oxygen and TSS have statistically no significant difference(p<0.001), but nutrient concentrations were higher at St. 6 than St. 7. It could be suggested from these results that it is important to control the discharge of fresh water by sewage treatment plants located in St. 6 for water quality management.

      • 새만금호 유입부의 수질특성

        This study was conducted to analyzed of the characteristics of water quality in the inlet of Saemangeum.. Specifically hourly monitoring(25hr) performed from Feburary 2003 to October 2005. Variation of salinity was no diffirence between at MKB and DJB on the large time of tidal effect on the side DJB was more higher(p<0.01) salinity than MKB by on the small time of tidal effect and rainfall, therefore we know that the tide flow into toward DJB than MKB. Total suspended solids(TSS) increase by turbulence as seawater input. A principal component analysis(PCA) showed that salinity and TSS factors was opposite to TN and TP factors. Therefore we expected that there is no correlation between high TSS and a nutrient increase and seawater circulation have an effect on water quality improvement by dissolved oxygen supply and nutrients dilution. Also, there is very big difference between minimum and maximum values during hourly monitoring(25hr) of TSS(100~800mg/L), COD(4.0~12.0mg/L), TN(3.0~9.0mg/L) and TP(0.2~1.0mg/L) which showed a sine curve 『The lowest-increase-peak-decrease-The lowest』types. The variation of water quality explained by hourly monitoring(25hr) suggests that water quality environments of Saemangeum area may have cycle typical of estuary river depending on tidal effects.

        원발성 경화성 담도염에 의한 간이식

        Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a rare disease entity. The medical therapy for PSC has not been reasonably beneficial. Thus liver transplantation is known to be the ultimate therapy. Because liver transplantation for PSC has been performed rarely in Korea, we report a case of liver transplantation for PSC with a review of the literature. A 35-year-old male was admitted to our hospital with recurrent jaundice for seven years. ERCP showed multiple strictures of intrahepatic duct and an irregularity of the extrahepatic duct wall. Despite medication and endoscopic treatment, liver functions did not imporve and clinical status got worsened. Thus liver transplantation was performed for the correction of hepatic failure. Two months after transplantation, liver functions and general weakness gradually improved and now, one year after liver transplantation, the patient is in normal life.
