Zirconium-oxide (ZrO2) thin films as protective layers were grown on a Zircaloy-4 (Z-4) cladding material as a substrate by RF reactive magnetron sputtering at room temperature. To investigate the effect of plasma immersion on the structural and the corrosive properties of the as-grown ZrO2 thin film, we immersed Z-4 in plasma during the deposition process. X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements showed that the as-grown ZrO2 thin films immersed in plasma had cubic, well as monoclinic and tetragonal, phases whereas those immersed in the plasma had monoclinic and tetragonal phases only. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) measurements of the surface morphology showed that the surface roughness of the as-grown ZrO2 thin films immersed in plasma was larger than that of the films not immersed in plasma. In addition, the corrosive property of the as-grown ZrO2 thin films immersed in the plasma was characterized using the weight gains of Z-4 after the corrosion test. Compared with the non-immersed films, the weight gains of the immersed films were larger. These results indicate that the ZrO2 films immersed in plasma cannot protect Z-4 from corrosive phenomena.

AlN thin films are deposited by using RF reactive magnetron sputtering at room temperature to investigate the possibility of AlN/IDT/Si surface acoustic wave structures with single and double interdigital transducer (IDT) patterns. Of the AlN films with different deposition conditions, the as-deposited AlN film at an RF power of 300 W and a working pressure of 5 mTorr has the most highly textured structure. Its textured structure is indicated by the following characteristics: the narrowest full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the X-ray diffraction (XRD) -rocking curve, namely, 1.52, and a high intensity value of the (002) plane of the wide-angle XRD pattern. The as-deposited AlN film at working pressure of 20 mTorr shows a relatively wide FWHM, 2.41, and a low intensity value for the (002) plane of the wide-angle XRD pattern, thereby indicating a structure with a low degree of texture. The grains of the as-deposited films have almost the same sizes and shapes at various working pressure. In the frequency response measurements, better frequency properties are observed in the as-deposited AlN film at a working pressure of 5 mTorr. For example, the band width of the as-deposited AlN film at a working pressure of 5 mTorr is 12.5 MHz, which is larger than the theoretical value; in contrast, the band width of the as-deposited AlN film at a working pressure of 20 mTorr is 12.8 MHz. From the frequency response analysis, the grain boundary is found to affect the electromechanical coupling factor and the insertion loss. These results indicate that a high-performance AlN/IDT/Si device might be possible if a much better textured or epitaxial AlN film with a high grain boundary quality can be deposited on an IDT/Si substrate.
자체촉매로 성장된 주석 도핑된 인듐산화물 나노선의 모폴로지 조절

In this report, we investigate the in-situ doping and morphology control of self-catalytic Sn-doped indium-oxide nanowires. The oxygen exposure during the growth affects the morphology of the nanowires, needled-like an pin-like structures. For longer of growth times, branched nanowires were epitaxially grown perpendicular to the backbone nanowires due to the self-catalytic VLS mechanism. Our approach has potential for extension to other nanowires of binary or ternary metal oxides grown based on self-catalytic growth. 본 논문에서는 자체촉매로 성장된 주석 도핑된 인듐 산화물 (ITO) 나노선의 실시간 도핑 및 모폴로지 조절에 대해 연구하였다. 나노선 성장 시 산소의 추가는 침구조 (needle-like) 및 핀구조 (pin-like)와 같은 나노선들의 모폴리지에 영향을 미쳤다. 성장시간이 지남에 따라 먼저 성장된 기둥 나노선에 수직하게 가지 (branch) 나노선들이 에피성장 되었다. 본 연구결과는 자체촉매작용에 의한 삼상 (ternary) 산화물 나노선의 성장에 효과적으로 이용 될 수 있을 것이다.

Emphysematous pyelonephritis (EPN), caused by extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), has not been reported in the literature; and the mechanism of this disease is unknown. Although many studies have conjectured about the various causes of EPN, ESWL was not one of them. The patient in this report was a 65-year-old woman with a past medical history of diabetes; the patient underwent an ESWL that caused the EPN. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of an EPN case that was caused by ESWL.
参与観察と事後インタビュー調査による海外日本語教育実習の実践と評価

본 연구는 삼육대학교 일본어과가 2012년 6월에서 7월에 걸쳐 4주간 말레이시아에 서 실시한 교생실습에 대한 연구이다. 실습에 참가한 두 여학생을 연구 대상으로 하고 실습 중의 직접 관찰과 실습 후의 인터뷰를 통해 얻은 자료에 분석을 실시했다. 문제 해결 학습법을 사용하여 실습 중에 실습생은 문제점을 모아 그것에 대해 유효 한 해결 방법을 찾도록 했다. 인터뷰는 귀국 후 1개월 경과하여 어느 정도 실습 경험이 정리된 시점에 그 문제점을 재검토하고 그것이 실습생들에게 실습 중과 실습 후에 어 떠한 의미를 가졌는지를 물었다. 또한 실습생에게는 밝히지 않고 문제를 발견하는 시점 및 문제에 대한 접근에 자문 화상대주의적 입장에 서 있는지를 분석함으로 글로벌적인 교원에게 요구되는 자질이 해외에서의 교육 교육실습에서 배양된 과정도 평가했다. 결론으로서 본고는 두 실습생의 문화적 시점의 차이를 분명히 했다고 말할 수 있다. 특히, 한 실습생에 대해 말하자면, 자문화상대주의와 그 학생의 독자적인 공리주의 사 이에 존재하는 모순점을 발견했다. 이들 성과는 실습생에 대한 앞으로의 지도에 도움이 될 것이다. This article explains how the overseas teaching practicum works in Malaysia and examines the latest practice, which allowed 2 Korean female students to have a onthe job training as teachers in a local Sabahan secondary school for 4 weeks in July 2012. This endeavor was originally planned to develop a sense of multiculturelism and cultural relativism for the future global educators. The authors employed the method of problemsolving practice. An author (Yamashita) observed the practicum from the beginning to the end, and provided a help both to find out problems in the school as well as their personal ones. After coming back to Korea, the students explained their findings and its solutions to the other author (Kim), which were video recorded. By the authors, the interviews have been transcribed and collaboratively analyzed to illuminate how much the students were able (or not able) to look at their own culture as well as the local culture relatively. In their interviews, even though the students showed they have been partly aware of the difference of the cultural standpoints, they need more experience and help to look at their own culture objectively.
양이온성 셀룰로오스 나노피브릴을 제조하기 위한 4차 아민화 반응에 대한 연구

본 연구에서는 GMA를 이용한 후처리 공정(post-treatment)을 통해 양이온성 셀룰로오스 나노피브릴(cellulose nanofibril; CNF)을 제조하였다. 이를 위해 마이크로 그라인더를 이용하여 활엽수 표백크라프트 펄프로 셀룰로오스 나노피브릴을 제조하였고 이후 4차아민화 반응을 통해 양이온성 CNF를 제조하였다. 제조된 양이온성 CNF의 점도, 입도크기, 제타포텐셜 등을 평가하였고 이를 통해 양이온성 CNF를 제조하기 위한 최소 GMA의 투입량을 도출하고자 하였다.
