The effect of break down of centrifugal pump due to entrained air has not been clarified yet. Thus, air-water two-phase flow experimental apparatus was installed to clarify the effect of break down. The performance results of a single-phase flow satisfied reappearance. Also, the heads coincided well impeller types.

LabVIEW is mostly preferred to use in experiment, measurement and control as one of the useful thing in America and Europe. So, We tried performance experiment of a single-stage closed-type centrifugal pump by using the LabVIEW. The pump rpm and the shaft torque are measured by rpm sensor and torque sensor. The test pump's maximum rpm, head, ㎾ are 1,750m, 13m, and 1.5㎾, respectively. The casing is made up with transparency acrylic for confirmation the flow patterns. We installed experimental equipment for air water two phase flow. This paper tries to analyze the single-phase flow characteristics through this air water two phase flow experimental apparatus. The performance results of a single-stage closed-type centrifugal pump satisfied reappearance and coincide well with head and coefficients according to the change of rpm.

The purpose of this paper is to present the optimum flap heights and deflection angles on NACA 63₂-215 airfoil. In this numerical investigation, the angle of attack is fixed at 8° and the heights of the flaps are 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5% and 2.0% of the airfoil chord length. Reynolds number is 2.4×10?. A Navier-Stokes code, FLUENT, was used to calculate the aerodynamic characteristics of NACA 63₂-215 airfoil. We carried out a benchmark calculation with FLUENT code on NACA 4412 airfoil to examine a reliability of the code. Prediction of local pressure coefficients are found to be in good agreement wi th the results of Wadcock's. The effects of difference deflection angles of the flap are compared and the flap heights ranging from 0.5% to 2% of the airfoil chord are also compared. The results indicate that all investigated flaps could increase lift and drag coefficient. The airfoil with 90° flap shows a excellent aerodynamics characteristics compared with other angles trailing edge flaps. It is concluded that this study gives a promise for the future development of wind turbine optimum design.

A numerical investigation was performed to determine the effect of airfoil on the optimum flap height and tip clearance using NACA00l5 Wells turbine. A Navier-Stokes code, FLUENT and CFX-TASCflow were used to calculate the flow field of the Wells turbine. The basic feature of the Wells turbine is that even though the cyclic airflow produces oscillating axial forces on the airfoil blades, the tangential force on the rotor is always in the same direction. Geometry used in definining the 3-D numerical grid is based upon that of an experimental test rig. This paper tries to analyze the optimum double flaps and tip clearances of Wells turbine with the numerical analysis.

해상에서의 화재로부터 사람의 목숨과 재산을 보호하는 것은 대단히 중요하다. 따라서, "격벽, 천장, 갑판 마감재의 표면 연소성에 대한 개선된 화재시험절차에 관한 권고"는 선박의 격벽, 천정, 갑판 마감재의 연소특성을 결정짓기 위한 근거로써 화재 특성 및 그 재료들을 해상구조물에 사용함에 있어서 적합성을 측정하기 위한 절차를 규정하고 있다. 이 논문에서는 선박의 격벽, 천정, 내장재 및 표면바닥재의 화재안정성 평가방법을 제시하고 그 적정성을 평가하고자 한다. 또한 특이한 거동을 보이는 물질을 조사하고, 그 물질들의 적합한 시험방법을 제시하고자 한다. It is very important to protect life, property at sea from any fire. Recommendation on improved fire test procedures for surface flammability of bulkhead, ceiling and deck finish materials specifies a procedure for measuring fire characterizing their flammability and thus their suitability for use in marine construction. In this paper, we investigated the positive expected by fire test procedures for flammability of bulkhead, ceiling and deck finish materials. Also, unusual materials were analyzed. Finally, we suggest methods to solve several problems related to unusual materials.
