        Distribution of Anatase Phase Depending on the Thermal Treatment Temperature of TiO2 Nanotubesand Its Effects on the Photocatalytic Efficiency

        The purpose of this study is to characterize the photo-catalytic efficiency of TiO2 nanotube with respect to the distribution of anatase phase which can be changed by the annealing temperature of TiO2 nanotube. TiO2 nanotube was fabricated by the anodization method in the 0.5 wt% HF electrolyte. And then the TiO2 nanotube was annealed at temperatures ranging from 380 o C to 780 o C in dry oxygen ambient for 2 h. For the photo-catalytic water-splitting tests, the photocurrent density was measured as a function of applied potential with a potentiostat using a Ag/AgCl reference, Pt counter electrode, and 1M KOH electrolyte under illumination of UV by a Xe arc lamp of 1 KW. According to the UV photo-catalytic water-splitting tests, the nanotube annealed at 560 o C was found to show the highest photocurrent density.         Water-splitting Performance of TiO_2 Nanotube Arrays Annealed in NH_3 Ambient

        Increase of surface area and decrease of band gap in TiO_2 semiconductors are significant to improve the efficiency of water splitting by photoelectrolysis. In this study TiO_2 nanotube arrays with ~7 um length and ~100 nm diameter were fabricated by an anodizing technique of titanium foils using DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide)-based electrolytes. Then to control the band gap of the TiO_2 arrays, they were annealed at 550℃ for up to 180 min in NH_3 gas ambient. The samples annealed in NH_3 gas for 30 min and 60 min showed superior photo-conversion efficiency for water splitting under white and visible light. A TiO_2 nanotube annealed in NH_3 gas ambient for a period longer than 120 min showed 1 order higher leakage current. It is believed that the decrease of band gap and increase of conductivity in TiO_2 nanotube arrays due to NH_3 gas treatments result in the superior water-splitting performance.

        The Effect of Asthma Clinical Guideline for Adults on Inhaled Corticosteroids PrescriptionTrend: A Quasi-Experimental Study

        In order to increase inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) use and to reduce hospitalization, emergency department visits and ultimately the economic burden of asthma, “Korean Asthma Management Guideline for Adults 2007” was developed. To assess the guideline effects on physician’s ICS prescription for asthma, we conducted segmented regression and multilevel logistic regression using National Health Insurance claims database of outpatient visits from 2003 to 2010. We set each quarter of a year as a time unit and compared ICS prescription between before and after guideline dissemination. A total of 624,309 quarterly visits for asthma was observed. The ICS prescription rate before and after guideline dissemination was 13.3% and 16.4% respectively (P < 0.001). In the segmented regression, there was no significant guideline effect on overall ICS prescription rate. In multilevel logistic regression analyses, the effect of guideline on overall ICS prescription was not significant (odds ratio, 1.03; 95% CI, 1.00-1.06). In subgroup analysis, ICS prescription increased in secondary care hospitals (odds ratio, 1.15; 95% CI, 1.02-1.30) and in general hospitals (odds ratio, 1.10; 95% CI, 1.04-1.16). However, in primary clinics, which covered 81.7% of asthma cases, there was no significant change (odds ratio, 0.98; 95% CI, 0.94-1.02). From the in-depth interview, we could identify that the reimbursement criteria of the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service and patient’s preference for oral drug were barriers for the ICS prescription. The domestic asthma clinical guideline have no significant effect on ICS prescription, especially in primary clinics.

        협동학습에 기반한 NFTM-TRIZ교수·학습모형 적용이 창의성과 수업만족도에 미치는 효과

        The purpose of this study is to explore ways to improve teaching and learning in specialized high schools by investigating the relationship between creativity and class satisfaction in classes using the NFTM-TRIZ model for specialized high school students. In order to achieve the purpose of the research, first, the differences between the applied effects, experiments, and control groups were analyzed when the NFTM-TRIZ model was applied. Second, when the NFTM-TRIZ model was applied, it was analyzed whether there was a significant difference in creativity and class satisfaction by group size. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, as a result of comparing the pre- and post-tests of the experimental group and the control group applying the NFTM-TRIZ model through the t-test, the experimental group showed significant differences in creative spontaneity, identity, attachment, curiosity and class satisfaction. Second, in experimental groups with the NFTM-TRIZ model, the size of groups of 4 and 6, rather than the size of groups of 2, had positive effects on class satisfaction. Therefore, the NFTM-TRIZ model based on collaborative learning was effective as a teaching and learning method that promoted creativity and satisfaction of students in specialized high schools. 이 연구의 목적은 협동학습에 기반하여 NFTM-TRIZ모형을 활용한 수업이 특성화고 학생의 창의성, 수업만족도에 미치는 효과를 구명하여 특성화고의 교수·학습 방법의 개선 방안을 모색하는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 첫째, NFTM-TRIZ모형을 적용했을 때 적용 효과와 실험, 비교집단 간 차이를 분석하였고, 둘째, 협동학습의 집단크기별로 창의성, 수업만족도의 유의미한 차이가 있는지를 분석하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, NFTM-TRIZ모형을 적용한 실험집단과 비교집단에 대한 사전/사후검사를 비교분석한 결과 실험집단에서 창의성의 자발성, 독자성, 집착성, 호기심 및 수업만족도에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 비교집단에서는 창의성 하위영역 모두에서 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 둘째, NFTM-TRIZ모형을 적용한 실험집단의 2인 집단보다 4인과 6인 집단에서 수업만족도가 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 따라서 협동학습에 기반한 NFTM-TRIZ모형은 특성화고 학생들의 창의성과 수업만족도를 증진시키는 교수·학습방법으로 효과가 있었다고 할 수 있다.

        한국 중년에서 건강 행동의 인식도와 실천율의 관련성

        Relationship between the Awareness and Health Behavior in Middle-aged KoreansSo Yeon Chung, M.D., Kyoung Woo Kim, M.D.*, Yun Ryong Chang, M.D., Hyuk Tae Kwon, M.D.**, Yu Il Kim, M.D.***, Bong Ryul Huh, M.D., Ph.D.****, BeLong Cho, M.D., Ph.D.† Background: Despite growing awareness of health behavior, making actual behavioral change seems to be more complex. This study assessed factors influencing discrepancy between the awareness and health behavior in Korean middle-aged people. Methods: A random-digit-dial telephone survey of 1,047 middle-aged Koreans was carried out in 2004. Through the survey, the agreement between the level of awareness and health behavior was analyzed. And factors related to health-risk behaviors in the group of appropriate awareness were analyzed. Results: In the group of appropriate awareness, males tended to be smokers, problem-drinkers and were not maintaining normal weight. In men, younger age, longer work-hours and more frequent stress were significantly related to both smoking and problem-drinking despite appropriate awareness. Higher income and blue-color working class were also predictors for the problem- drinking. In women, older age, lower education, lower income and comorbid disease were significantly related to abnormal weight. Physical inactivity was significantly related to lower education, longer working hours and lower income. Conclusion: This study showed that sociodemographic factors and stress were related with health-risk behavior with appropriate awareness in middle-aged people. These findings are expected to have implications for development of health promotion program focusing on stress management, improvement of sociocultural perception and simultaneous intervention for both smoking and alcohol. For middle-aged Korean women, more efforts must be made to remove economical and sociocultural barriers. (J Korean Acad Fam Med 2007;28:845-852) 연구배경: 건강행동의 인식도 향상을 위한 노력에도 불구하고, 실제 건강행동의 실천에는 어려움이 있어, 집단의 건강행동에 대한 인식도와 실천 사이의 관계에 영향을 미치는 요인을 연구할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 한국의 중년에서의 건강행동의 중요도 인식 정도와 실천 사이의 관계에 영향을 미치는 요인을 이해하고자 시도되었다. 방법: 전국의 중년 남녀(40세 이상, 65세 미만) 1,047명을 대상으로 전화 면접(RDD)을 통해 시행한 연구로, 건강행동에 대한 중요도 인식 정도와 실천의 일치도 여부를 조사하고, 각 건강행동에 대해 높은 인식도인 군만 선택하여 건강행동을 실천하지 않는 것과 관련된 인자를 상관분석하였다. 결과: 건강행동의 중요도 인식이 높은 군에서 비실천과 관련된 인자를 분석한 결과이다. 금연, 절주 및 정상 체중 유지에서는 남자에 유의하게 많았다. 남자에서 흡연과 문제음주는 낮은 연령, 잦은 스트레스, 긴 근무시간, 적은 휴식과 관련이 있고, 특히 문제음주는 많은 수입, 직업군과 관련이 있었다. 흡연과 문제음주는 남녀 모두에서 서로 연관이 있었다. 비정상체중인 여자는 높은 연령대, 낮은 학력, 적은 수입, 동반된 만성 질환과 관련이 있었다. 규칙적 운동을 하지 않는 것은 낮은 교육 수준, 적은 수입, 긴 근로시간, 적은 휴식시간과 유의하게 관련이 있었다. 결론: 중년 남자의 건강증진을 위해서는 직장 내 스트레스 관리와 사회문화적 음주 인식의 개선에 중점을 두고, 흡연과 음주에 대한 중재를 함께 진행하는 것이 효과적일 수 있다. 중년 여자에서의 건강증진을 위해서는 사회계층별 건강행동의 차이를 효과적으로 줄일 수 있는 다양한 정책과 이들을 특정 표적 집단으로 하는 방안들이 연구되어야 하겠다.

        DISCERN을 이용한 우리나라 인터넷 건강정보 질 평가

        Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate the quality of health information on the internet using DISCERN. Methods: Breast cancer, asthma, depression, obesity were selected to be the tracer conditions of the health information. To collect information about these 4 tracer conditions, we first select top 9 popular Korean websites which provide health information in January 2004. Nine websites include 6 commercial, 3 hospital. To compare quality of internet health information provided by Korean public institute and other countries', we select Healthguide in Korea, MEDLINEplus in USA and NHS direct online in UK. Overall, a total of 45 heath information provided by 10 Korean, 2 other countries' websites were evaluated by two nurses independently using DISCERN. DISCERN is a heath information quality assessment instrument consists of sixteen five-point- scale item questionnaire. The score was compared between Korean commercial and hospital websites and between Korean public institute's website and those of USA and UK. Results: Korean internet health information scored 2.0 for overall quality score. Internet health information of commercial websites scored 1.8 for overall quality score that was lower than hospital websites(2.4). Internet health information provided by Korean public institute scored 3.0 compared 3.3(MEDLINEplus) and 3.8(NHS direct online). Conclusion: Internet health information in Korea hardly meets DISCERN standard that means Korean health information have a problem in quality. Especially, Internet health information of commercial websites needs relatively urgent improvement in quality. (Journal of Korean Society of Medical Informatics 11-3,235-246, 2005)

        Y<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>-BN 복합체의 미세구조 및 내플라즈마 특성

        $Y_2O_3$-BN 세라믹 복합체를 제작하기 위해서, 분말 입도 $3{\sim}10{\mu}m$인 $Y_2O_3$ 분말을 분산한 슬러리에 pH 조절제인 NaOH를 첨가하였으며 결합제로는 PVA, 가소제로는 PEG를, BN 분말과 혼합하고, 분무건조(spray drying)공정을 거쳐 $Y_2O_3$ 혼합 분말을 제조하였다. ${\O}14mm$ 크기의 $Y_2O_3$-BN 시편을 성형하고, $1550^{\circ}C$ 및 $1600^{\circ}C$에서 소결하여 $Y_2O_3$-BN 복합체를 제작하였다. BN 투입량과 소결온도의 변수에 따른 미세구조, 순도, 꺽임강도, 열팽창계수, 밀도, 체적저항, 내플라즈마 특성을 조사하였다. $Y_2O_3$-BN ceramic composites were fabricated from the slurries of yttria powder with average particle size of 3~10 ${\mu}m$. The slurry was fabricated by mixing PVA binder, NaOH for Ph control, PEG, BN powder and $Y_2O_3$ powder. The mixed $Y_2O_3$ powders were obtained by spray drying process from the slurry. The $Y_2O_3$-BN composite specimen was shaped in size of ${\O}14mm$ and then sintered at $1550^{\circ}C$ and $1600^{\circ}C$, respectively. The characteristics, microstructure, purities, densities, bulk resistance, thermal expansion, hardness and plasma resistance of the $Y_2O_3$-BN composites were investigated with the function of BN contents and sintering temperature.
