      • 전력선 통신을 이용한 지능형 홈 네트워크 시스템 구축

        사용자의 각 개인별 관심 및 환경에 따라 적절한 정보를 다양한 입출력 방식으로 제공하고, 가정내의 모 든 장소에서 네트워크 접속이 가능한 사용자 중심의 지능형 홈 네트워크 환경의 새로운 요구가 대두 되고 있다. 또한 집안의 온도, 가스, 화재, 도어, 적외선 센서들로부터 수집된 정보를 요약, 분석, 처리 가공하여 문자 및 그래픽 등으로 보고 받는 사용자 중심의 서비스 제공이 요구 된다. 이에 본 논문은 전력선 통신 (Power Line Communication, PLC)을 이용한 홈 네트워크 시스템을 구축하여 가정내의 온도, 화재, 침입방지 등의 보안 문제뿐만 아니라 정보가 전기기들이 네트워크로 상호 연결되어 기기, 시간, 장소에 구애 받지 않는 다양한 서비스의 제공이 가능하며, 중앙의 홈 서버를 통해 집안 전체의 관리가 가능한 안전하고 스마트한 자동화 서비스를 제공하는 환경을 구축한다

        Identifying Long-Term Survival Candidates among Patients with Isolated Locoregionally Recurrent Breast Cancer: Implications of the Use of Systemic Chemotherapy

        Purpose: We aimed to investigate the clinicopathologic factors associated with distant metastasis (DM) and post-recurrence overall survival (OS) after salvage treatments for isolated locoregional recurrence (ILRR) of breast cancer and identify long-term surviving patients for providing a more personalized therapy. Methods: We analyzed 125 patients who underwent salvage local treatments for ILRR after initial curative breast surgery. Results: Fifty-two (41.6%) patients experienced secondary recurrence or disease progression, of which 20 (38.5%) experienced a secondary locoregional recurrence and 40 (76.9%) experienced DM as the first site of failure. In multivariate analysis of distant metastasis free survival (DMFS) and post-recurrence OS, the initial pN2-3 stage, a disease-free interval of < 36 months, and non-curative resection for recurrent disease were independently poor prognosticators. The score for patients stratified according to the number of risk factors increased from 0 to 3; the corresponding 5-year DMFS rates were 91.4%, 53.0%, 35.9%, and 0% and the 5-year OS rates were 97.3%, 70.4%, 32.7%, and 25.0%, respectively (p < 0.001). Systemic chemotherapy reduced DM in patients with a score of 2–3, but it did not in those with a score of 0-1. Conclusion: Our collective stratification can help with prognosis prediction for ILRR of breast cancer. Depending on the DM risk of patients, the potential combination of systemic therapy should be discussed further.

        경기도 김포, 인천 서구지역 소하천의 PCE 탈염소화 군집의 선별 및 다양성 분석

        경기도 김포 지역과 인천 서구 지역공단 주변에 위치한 소하천의 저니(sediment)에서 난분해성 염소화합물인 PCE (tetrachloroethylene)의 혐기성 탈염소화 능력이 있는 군집을 선별하고, 탈염소화에 관여하는 미생물을 탐색하였다. 혐기성 탈염소화 능력을 조사하기 위해 전자공여체로 lactate를 사용하여 혐기성 회분식 실험을 실시하였으며, 탈염소화 능력을 가진 군집을 선별하였다. 선발된 미생물군집은 분자생물학적 기법인 16S rRNA gene의 Polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) 기법과 탈염소화 미생물을 선택적으로 탐색할 수 있는 species-specific primer를 이용하여 분석하였다. 총 16개의 시료 중에서 접종 8주 만에 3개의 시료에서 ethene까지 탈염소화시켰으며, 4개의 시료에서 cis-1,2-dichloroethene (cis-DCE)까지 탈염소화시켰다. 또한, 16S rRNA gene을 이용한 PCR-DGGE와 탈염소화 species-specific primer를 이용하여 분석한 결과, PCE 탈염소화 시료 내에는 Dehalococcoides sp.와 Geobacter sp.가 주로 존재하였으며, Dehalobacter sp.도 일부 시료에서 검출되었다. In this study, anaerobic enrichment cultivation was performed with the sediments from the Gimpo and Inchon areas. Lactate as an electron donor and PCE as an electron acceptor was injected into the serum bottle with an anaerobic medium. After the incubation of 8 weeks, the reductive dechlorination of PCE was observed in 7 sites among 16 sites (43%). Three enrichment cultures showed completely dechlorination of PCE to ethene, while four enrichment culture showed transformation of PCE to cis-DCE. The bacterial community structure was analyzed by PCR-DGGE. Dechlorinating bacteria were detected by species-specific primers. The dominant species in seven anaerobic enrichments were found to belong to the genus of Dehalococcoides sp. and Geobacter sp., and Dehalobacter sp.

        Role of salvage radiotherapy for regional lymph node recurrence after radical surgery in advanced gastric cancer

        Purpose: To evaluate the role of salvage radiotherapy (RT) for the treatment of regional lymph node recurrence (RLNR) after radical surgery in advanced gastric cancer. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively analyzed medical records of 26 patients who underwent salvage treatment after diagnosis of RLNR between 2006 and 2011. Patients with peritoneal seeding or distant metastasis were excluded. Eighteen patients received RT with or without chemotherapy and the other 8 did chemotherapy only without RT. A three-dimensional conformal RT was performed with median dose of 56 Gy (range, 44 to 60 Gy). Sixteen patients had fluoropyrimidine-based chemotherapy, 5 did taxane-based chemotherapy, and irinotecan was applied in 4. Results: With a median follow-up of 20 months (range, 5 to 57 months), median overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) after diagnosis of RLNR were 29 months and 12 months in the entire patients, respectively. Radiotherapy (p = 0.007) and disease-free interval (p = 0.033) were statistically significant factors for OS in multivariate analysis. Median OS was 36 months in patients who received RT and 16 months in those who did not. Furthermore, delivery of RT (p < 0.001), complete remission after salvage treatment (p = 0.040) and performance status (p = 0.023) were associated with a significantly better PFS. Gastrointestinal toxicities from RT were mild in most patients. Conclusion: Salvage RT combined with systemic chemotherapy may be an effective treatment managing RLNR from advanced gastric cancer.

        Prognostic Value of Splenic Artery Invasion in Patients Undergoing Adjuvant Chemoradiotherapy after Distal Pancreatectomy for Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma

        Purpose The purpose of this study was to evaluate the outcome of adjuvant chemoradiotherapy(CRT) after distal pancreatectomy (DP) in patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma, and toidentify the prognostic factors for these patients. Materials and MethodsWe performed a retrospective review of 62 consecutive patients who underwent curativeDP followed by adjuvant CRT between 2000 and 2011. There were 31 men and 31 women,and the median age was 64 years (range, 38 to 80 years). Adjuvant radiotherapy wasdelivered to the tumor bed and regional lymph nodes with a median dose of 50.4 Gy (range,40 to 55.8 Gy). All patients received concomitant chemotherapy, and 53 patients (85.5%)also received maintenance chemotherapy. The median follow-up period was 24 months. ResultsForty patients (64.5%) experienced relapse. Isolated locoregional recurrence developed in5 patients (8.1%) and distant metastasis in 35 patients (56.5%), of whom 13 had bothlocoregional recurrence and distant metastasis. The median overall survival (OS) anddisease-free survival (DFS) were 37.5 months and 15.4 months, respectively. On multivariateanalysis, splenic artery (SA) invasion (p=0.0186) and resection margin (RM) involvement(p=0.0004) were identified as significant adverse prognosticators for DFS. Also, male gender(p=0.0325) and RM involvement (p=0.0007) were associated with a significantly poor OS. Grade 3 or higher hematologic and gastrointestinal toxicities occurred in 22.6% and 4.8%of patients, respectively. ConclusionAdjuvant CRT may improve survival after DP for pancreatic body or tail adenocarcinoma. Our results indicated that SA invasion was a significant factor predicting inferior DFS, aswas RM involvement. When SA invasion is identified preoperatively, neoadjuvant treatmentmay be considered.

        Plant Terpene-Induced Expression of Multiple Aromatic RingHydroxylation Oxygenase Genes in Rhodococcus sp. Strain T104

        Recent studies have shown that some of the PCB (polychlorinated biphenyl)-degraders are able to effectively degrade PCB in the presence of monoterpenes, which act as inducers for the degradation pathway. Rhodococcus sp. T104, an effective PCB degrader, has been shown to induce the degradation pathway by utilizing limonenes, cymenes, carvones, and pinenes as sole carbon sources which can be found in the natural environment. Moreover, the strain T104 proved to possess three separate oxidation pathways of limonene, biphenyl, and phenol. Of these three, the limonene can also induce the biphenyl degradation pathway. In this work, we report the presence of three distinct genes for aromatic oxygenase, which are putatively involved in the degradation of aromatic substrates including biphenyl, limonene, and phenol, through PCR amplification and denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE). The genes were differentially expressed and well induced by limonene, cymene, and plant extract A compared to biphenyl and/or glucose. This indicates that substrate specificity must be taken into account when biodegradation of the target compounds are facilitated by the plant natural substrates.

      • 중적외선 감지용 초점면 배열 HgCdTe의 신호 취득 회로 설계 및 열영상 구현

        모든 물체에서 방출되는 적외선을 감지하여 영상신호로 만들어 주는 적외선 감지 칩은 보편적으로 적외선감지 소자와 신호 취득 회로가 각기 다른 칩으로 제작되어 하이브리드 본딩 기법을 통해 만들어 진다. 본 논문에서는 신호 취득 회로의 설계 과정과 시뮬레이션 결과를 보여 주며, 실제 제작 결과, 6V의 인가 전압에서 설계 사양에 만족하는 동작 특성을 보임을 확인하였다. 제작된 신호 취득 회로를 이용하여 적외선 감지칩을 제작하고 이를 자체 제작한 열영상 시스템에 장착하여 열영상을 구현해 보았다. 얻어진 열영상은 고온과 상온의 물체에 대해서 인식이 가능한 수준이었으며, 열영상 시스템의 잡음 특성을 좀 더 개선할 경우 더나은 열영상을 얻을 수 있으리라 기대한다. Infrared (IR) detector chip, which detects the IR radiation from all of the objects and converts to image signal, is usually fabricated using hybrid bonding technology with detector away and readout integrated circuit (ROIC). In this study, we designed the readout circuit and simulated its operations. Fabricating readout circuit chips, we measured operation results satisfying its design requirements in 6V supply voltage. After we mount the IR detector chip in the manufactured thermal image system, thermal images were implemented. The obtained thermal images for high and room temperature target objects are sufficiently recognizable. Using the low noise thermal Image system, we expect to obtain thermal images with higher temperature resolution.
