      • 궤도시스템의 횡탄성에 따른 곡선부 레일의 동적거동평가

        Domestic or international existing researches regarding rail damage factors are focused on laying, vehicle conditions, driving speed and driving habits and overlook characteristics of track structure (elasticity, maintenance etc). Also in ballast track, as there is no special lateral spring stiffness of track also called as ballast lateral resistance in concrete track, generally, existing study shows concrete track has 2 time shorter life cycle for rail replacement than ballast track due to abrasion. As a result of domestic concrete track design and operation performance review, concrete track elasticity is lower than track elasticity of ballast track resulting higher damage on rail and tracks. Generally, concrete track has advantage in track elasticity adjustment than ballast track and in case of Europe, in concrete track design, it is recommended to have same or higher performance range of vertical elastic stiffness of ballast track but domestically or internationally review on lateral spring stiffness of track is very minimal. Therefore, through analysis of service line track on site measurement and analysis on performance of maintenance, in this research, dynamic characteristic behaviors of commonly used ballast and concrete track are studied to infer elasticity of service line track and experimentally prove effects of track lateral spring stiffness that influence curved rail damage as well as correlation between track elasticity by track system and rail damage to propose importance of appropriate elastic stiffness level for concrete and ballast track.

      • 국내 철도 레일의 휨 피로거동 분석

        The replacement period criteria of rail according to the accumulated passing tonnage was estimated by the bending fatigue life of rail. In order to estimate the bending fatigue life, it basically needs to analyze bending fatigue behaviour on the rail. This study performed a bending fatigue test for 50㎏/m and 60㎏/m rails, and these were distinguished by new and used rails, and the types of rail welding such as base material welding, thermite welding, and gas pressure welding. Also, it analyzed the fractured surface, the position of initial crack, and the bending fatigue behaviour(S-N curve). Therefore, it achieved S-N curve for new and used rail according to the types of rail welding. It might be made full use of essential data in order to estimate rail the bending fatigue life according to accumulated passing tonnage.

        Track geometry changes by traffic loads. The bigger the changes are, the worse the riding comfort and running stability of train. This is so-called track irregularity and is the most important quality parameters of ballasted track. To objectively assess track irregularity, track geometry should be able to be measured. Practically, railway companies in Korea use normal distribution as probability distribution of track irregularity. But some countries use non-normal distribution according to their own track recording system. In this report, reviewed probability distribution of Kyung-Bu high-speed line and tested normality.

      • 광섬유센서 레일패드를 이용한 레일 누적통과톤수 실측시스템 구축

        In general, accumulated passing tonnage of railroad is deliberate by accumulated number of passages on a train and number of train that passed by. Current method of calculating accumulated passing tonnage has defaults of misrepresenting that improvise the innovated method to analyzing measurement data is significant. In this paper, evaluated and analyzed of railroad accumulated passing tonnage measurement by fiber optics rail pad system; installed in Seoul Metro’s subway line from 1 through 4. With fiber optics rail pad, analyze the speed, and raw data; evaluating railroad’s accumulated passing tonnage and data. With field researches and system analysis; all twelve fields in Seoul Metro subway system, could gather railroad accumulated passing tonnage data, and compare a previous system and fiber optic system’s accuracy by time and day. Comparisons of these two systems, discuss about discovery of misrepresenting information in the previous system. Thus, railroad accumulated passing tonnage measurement by fiber optics system; it leads to compensate a speed of train and a load that provide accurate and reliable source by its dependable measurement.

        For maintaining railroad, accumulated passing tonnage is a determinant factor of appropriate rail replacement time. Recently, Seoul Metro's rail maintaining system and technology is being improved from previous years, which increasing a standard of rail replacement. Thus, this brings importance of estimating and managing for accumulated passing tonnage. In case of light weighted train such as subway, current method of calculating accumulated passing tonnage has defaults of misrepresenting accumulated passing tonnage data. Because current method is based on the weight of passengers and train, and operation data. In addition, currently there is no mechanical and electronic system that could represent and support the accurate data between heavy and non-heavy traffic area, and accumulated passing tonnage is calculated inaccurately by estimating average value each line. The current method of calculating accumulated passing tonnage misleads to unpredictable data that represent inappropriate rail replacement period, which leads to under or over analyzed replacement period. If accumulated passing tonnage is over estimated, rail replacement leads to waste of budget. Hence, it is necessary to construct reliable actual measurement system to manage rail's life safely and efficiently, and in this study the accumulated passing tonnage measurement device is installed with using rail pad of optical fiber sensors and its effect is analyzed.

        As the growing concern about environment and earthquake for the concrete structure many seismic rehabilitation and retrofitting methods have recently been studied but they are not coping enough with the changes of structure specificly various problems have been found in seismic rehabilitation method - both in exposure or non exposure - when they are implemented to the underground structure utility conduit water supply facilities underground wall parking lot road pavement and elevated structure etc. This study is about the seismic rehabilitation method using environmentally friendly functional inorganic mortar and resilient material and it is effectively retrofitted seismic performance as it reinforces not only physical strength but also flexural and bond strength from the resilient material and it has been analyzed and evaluated when the environmentally friendly functional inorganic mortar and the resilient material are applied so as to countermeasure the effect of earthquake and viable problems and approved for possibility of various applications and wide use.

        Track geometry changes by traffic loads. The bigger the changes are, the worse the riding comfort and running stability of train. This is so-called track irregularity and is the most important quality parameters of ballasted track. To objectively assess track irregularity, track geometry should be able to be measured. Practically, railway companies in Korea use various track recording equipments to measure track irregularity. But this various equipments output different data due to their geometrical structure even measured at same location. In this report, the correlation of various track recording data used in Korea was reviewed.

      • 중회귀분석을 통한 콘크리트궤도 레일 휨응력 예측식

        장대레일 교체주기는 자갈궤도 레일두부 표면요철과 레일 휨피로의 상관관계 분석을 통해 산정되었다. 본 연구에서는 국내 도시철도(서울메트로) 콘크리트궤도에서 레일두부 표면요철량에 따른 레일 휨응력을 측정하였다. 또한, 콘크리트궤도 레일두부 표면요철, 속도와 레일 휨응력의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 결론적으로, 중회귀분석을 통해 운행속도(U), 표면요철(v, w)에 따른 레일 휨응력(Y) 예측식을 도출하였다. 본 연구결과는 콘크리트궤도 장대레일 교체주기를 수립하기 위한 기초데이터로 활용이 가능할 것이다. It is suggested that the service life of the continuous welded rail(CWR) is estimated by the relationship between the rail surface irregularity according to the accumulated passing tonnage and bending fatigue of welded part in CWR. In this study, it measured bending stress of rail according to the rail surface irregularity in the concrete track on the Seoul Metro. In addition, the relationship between rail surface irregularity and bending stress in concrete track is analyzed by results of the field test. Finally, this study clarified the relationship among bending stress(Y) of rail, train speed(U), rail surface irregularity(v, w) in concrete track. The result of this study is able to use the basis data to establishing the periodic replacements criterion of CWR.

      • 궤도구조별 레일두부 표면요철의 성장 경향 분석

        The periodic replacements criterion of rail is calculated on the basis of the research result of RTRI in Japan. It is suggested that the service life of the continuous welded rail(CWR) is estimated by the relationship between the rail surface irregularity according to the accumulated passing tonnage and bending fatigue of welded part in CWR. In order to establish the periodic replacements criterion of CWR, this study measured the rail surface irregularity according to the accumulated passing tonnage, the types of track system and welding. Therefore, it is analyzed that the gas pressure welding is the worst one of the others. In addition, it is analyzed that the rail surface irregularity growth rate in ballast track is about O.02~0.03㎜/100MGT and its in concrete track is about 0.005~0.02㎜/100MGT. Finally, the result of this study is able to use the basis data to establishing the periodic replacements criterion of CWR considering rail grinding.
