        崔永根,金光善,金明福 慶熙大學校 1969 論文集 Vol.6 No.-

Introduction The basic purpose of this study was to measure all of the fundamental skills of youth soccer players, involving the physical and technical aspects of players participated in the 10th Asian Youth Football Tournament held in Seoul from 16 th of May to 1968, The participating teams of the tourament were 12: (Israel, India, China, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Korea) Statement of the Problem In the couse of the measurement and evaluation, some players were so anxious to keep themselves in good physical condition to play that the scope of original masurement and effect was somewhat reduced. All assistants for the meaurement and evaluation were directed, superivsed, and conducted by trained and experience leaders in order to obtain valid, reliable and objective information. In a partial measurement, chiefly due to the lack of scientific tools of measuremnnt and consequently to the fact that eye measurements had to be applied, the minor mistakes in the measurement could not be avoided. However, the mis-takes were, we believe, in such degree that would not cause any serious problems. Classification of the measurement For the convenience of the measurement, the researchers of this study classify the measurement into the following categories: 1. physical status 2. physical fitness 3. the running distance in game 4. the numbers of heading the ball 5. the time of keeping the ball 6. the time of successfully sequent passing Summary The results of this study pointed out the following facts; 1. The measurement of physical status and fitness of the playess was applied to five teams: Korea, Philippines, Malaysia, Japan and Singapore. Possible exception of the team of Singapore, the players exhibited good physical status and, expecially, that of the Korean team was excellent. 2. An average running distance, in the 80―minutes duration of game, recorded 77042.2 meters. In the first half of game, it recorded 3984 meters which was 51.7 percent of the total distance: and in the second half, 3720 meters, which was 48.3 percent. 3. In the course of 40―minutes half game, the running distance was reduced by 10 percent. This reduction was probably caused by the fatigue or exhaustion of the players. 4. After the half time recession, the fatigue and exhaustion was recovered by approximately 70 percent. 5. Average number of heading for each teams was 53 in one game, the number being varied between 38 to 57. 6. The time spent in actual play between teams in one game was on the average 46 minutes which was 57 percent of total time. 7. The time spent in one passing was 3.75 second average, it being between 3 to 4 seconds.

For the purpose of clarifying the pattern of distribution of the degree of relaxation muscles attached to the scapula and of studying the possible inter-relationship between scapular muscles and athletes condition, 887 top-rated Korean athletes were studied. The results may be summarized as follows: a. About 80 of the subjects observed scored above the value or 3 and subjects who got less than 3 required some active treatment, e. g., physical massage. b. Apositive linear relationship existed between the measured value and athletes condition. c. During competition season the measured values tended to decrease, indicating that they are not in best condition for competition in that period of time. Hence, massage may be recommended to keep athletes in best condition.
