We have investigated future large telescopes, which should represent the next generation of Korean optical and infrared telescopes. We first studied the history of the development of large telescopes in the USA, European countries, and Japan. Based on these studies, we came up suitable Korean large telescopes, which fit the current status of Korea in terms of financial situation, required technology, sciences, and manpower. We presented the potential impacts of developing large telescopes on the relevant Korean industry and Korean astronomical society. We also discussed a possibility to install large Korean telescopes at foreign sites utilizing highly competitive seeings and twice available observing dates there.

This survey was conducted to investigate the present conditions of operational management in the 45 animal manure public resource center (APRC) in Korea. The regional distribution, processing capacity per year, capacity of liquid fertilizer storage tank, solid-liquid separation, utilization of facilities, odor reduction facility, on-site odor strength, complained in the community, liquid fertilizer sprayed area, use the Agrix, land application recipe, composting degree, quality management and general grading were surveyed and evaluated. General grading was divided with 5 stages (very good, good, fair, lack and bad). The number of evaluated "very good" animal manure public resource center was 7, and "good" was 5 and more than "fair" was 27. However, the number of evaluated negatively including "lack" and "bad" was occupied as 40% of the 45 animal manure public resource center.
Cyclic carbonate를 포함하는 polystyrene 유도체의 합성 및 이온전도 특성

본 실험에서는 cyclic carbonate를 함유하는 styrene 유도체 VBCE를 Williamson 반응으로 합성하였으며 일반적인 조건에서 고분자중합까지 가능함을 보여주었다. 합성한 poly(VBCE)는 PEGMA와의 블렌드를 통하여 고분자전해질로 제조되었으며 이온전도도에 미치는 조성의 영향을 평가하였다. 흥미롭게도 poly(VBCE)의 함량이 0, 1.9, 5.8 mol%로 증가한 경우, 상온 이온전도도는 각각 $4.2{\times}10^{-5}$, $1.45{\times}10^{-5}$, $3.93{\times}10^{-6}S\;cm^{-1}$로 감소하는 경향을 보여주었다. DSC 측정결과, poly(VBCE)의 도입이 PEGMA의 $T_g$에 크게 영향을 주어 도입전 $-50^{\circ}C$에서 $-40^{\circ}C$, $-21^{\circ}C$로 각각 증가되는 현상을 관찰하였다. 이것은 극성 cyclic carbonate의 존재가 이온전도성 기질인 PEGMA의 유동성을 감소시키기 때문으로 이해할 수 있다. 따라서 cyclic carbonate를 고분자기질에 고정시키기 위해서는 기질의 움직임을 감소시키지 않는 분자설계가 필요할 것이다. In this study polystyrene derivative, VBCE, having a cyclic carbonate was synthesized by Williamson reaction and polymerized to poly(VBCE) successfully in an usual polymerization conditions. The obtained polymer was blended with PEGMA and the effect of composition on the ionic conductivity was investigated. Interestingly, the ionic conductivity was decreased from $4.2{\times}10^{-5}S\;cm^{-1}$ to $3.93{\times}10^{-6}S\;cm^{-1}$ with the poly(VBCE) contents of 5.8mol%. From the DSC study, it was found that the $T_g$ of the blend was increased from $-50^{\circ}C$ to $-21^{\circ}C$ by the addition of poly(VBCE). Therefore, it is believed that the presence of a polar cyclic carbonate makes polymer matrix harder and it is necessary to design new structures less hindered the mobility of the matrix.

For the reasonable analysis of design problems for agricultural facilities, considered the reinforcing effect of thin-wall. The most of agricultural structure is constructed small scale and have many purposes. Thus it has been designed temporary rather than permanent structure, and has relatively large slenderness ratio, small section and semi-rigid condition. Therefore many agricultural facilities are consist of relatively strong frame with weak wall at the viewpoint of stiffness and have not been reflected in the design. But the tension field influences to collapse of structure have already known. Therefore, we need quantification the effect of tension field at structural analysis. In this study, present the method of quantification the effect of tension field that came out thin-plate surrounded by high stiffness frame. The numerical results show that the effect of tension field effect for thin-wall is about 5% of the sectional area of frame in study agricultural facilities.

마그네슘 금속 복합재의 열처리 및 섬유 강화재 방향에 따른 효과를 파악하기 위하여 인장강도 및 피로해석이 연구되었다. TEM 관측에 따라 시편은 섬유 강화재와 마그네슘 복합기지 사이의 시효 열처리된 변형된 계면이다. 인장실험 결과로부터 시효 처리된 시편의 극한 인장강도는 주조상태의 시편보다 시효 처리시 화학반응에 의한 섬유 강화재-기지간의 접합강도 약화로 감소하였다. 피로균열 거동실험은 균열거동 방향이 섬유 강화재 방향과 수직인 시편과 균열거동 방향이 섬유 강화재 방향과 평행한 시편을 실험하였다. 피로균열 거동해석을 비교해보면 섬유 강화재와 하중방향이 수직인 시효처리된 시편의 경우가 주조상태의 시편보다 피로균열 거동에 더 크게 저항하였다. 반대로 섬유 강화재 방향에 평행한 주조상태의 시편은 섬유 강화재 방향에 평행한 시효처리된 시편보다 피로 균열거동에 더 크게 저항함을 알 수 있었다. The effects of heat treatment and fiber orientation on tensile strength and fatigue behavior were studied in a continuously reinforced. magnesium-based composite Following an earlier TEM investigation, specimens were thermally aged to modified the interfacial zone between the alumina fibers and the magnesium alloy matrix. From the tensile experimental results, the ultimate tensile strength of the aged specimens were lower than that of the as-fabricated due to weak fiber-matrix interfacial strength with chemical reaction during the thermal processing. The fatigue crack growth experiments were conducted with specimens having the fiber orientation normal to the crack growth direction (longitudinal) and also specimens with the fibers oriented parallel to the crack growth direction(transverse). A comparison of the fatigue crack growth behavior indicates that aged longitudinal specimens are more resistant to fatigue crack growth the as-fabricated longitudinal specimens. Conversely, as-fabricated transverse specimens are more resistant to fatigue crack growth than aged transverse specimens.

This study was conducted to investigate the dispersion prediction of odor from Hanwoo and dairy farms. Gaussian Plume model used in considering of farm size, wind velocity, atmospheric stability and threshold odor unit to prediction of odor dispersion based on the survey on current state of odor emission and control from 9 site of Hanwoo and 9 site of dairy farms. Farm size, wind velocity and atmospheric stability were affected the distance of odor dispersion, showed longer distance in cases of large farm, low wind velocity and stable atmospheric condition. We will suggestion the adjusted distance of odor dispersion according to farm size was estimated to 50~100 m in Hanwoo farm and 50~150 m in dairy farm when apply the 3OU, 5 m/s wind velocity and stable atmospheric condition.
복합재료 바닥판 부재의 정적 및 피로거동에 관한 시험적 연구

복합재료가 건설 분야에서 보다 광범위하게 이용되기 위해서는 일반 기술자에게 이론을 쉽게 하기 위한 연구와 시험을 통한 데이터의 축적이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 복합재료인 FRP 바닥판 부재의 따른 정적 및 피로성능을 평가하고 향후 FRP 바닥판의 해석 및 설계기준의 기초 자료를 제공하여 복합재료의 구조재 활용을 위한 기반기술을 제공하고자 하였다. 정적시험 결과 섬유방향 시험체가 섬유직각방향 시험체보다 큰 강성을 갖고 있으며 데이터 값이 훨씬 수렴되는 경향을 보이는바 이는 파괴과정에서 기지 배열에 따른 구조 특성으로 보다 안정적인 거동을 보이는 것을 알 수 있었다. 피로시험 결과 섬유방향 시험체는 섬유직각방향 시험체가 초기에 균열이 발생하는 것과 달리 시험체의 반복횟수가 증가하면서 파괴 직전에 균열을 확인할 수 있었으며, 접착면이 떨어지는 양상을 보였다. It is required to accumulate experimental datum that make the theories easy to general technicians in order to use composite material widely on construction field. Therefore, we intend to present base technologies that evaluate static and fatigue performance according to the FRP deck section and offer the basis datum for FRP deck analyses and the design standards. As results of static tests, it can be shown that specimen with fabric direction has higher rigidity than that with normal to fabric direction and convergence for the datum. Due to this reason, it has more stable behavior by structural characteristics of matrix arrangement during destruction. For the fatigue tests, we found that by increasing the number of test repetition, test specimen with fabric direction had an crack just before the destruction, and the contact surface was detached.
에틸렌 카보네이트기를 함유하는 가지형 고체 고분자전해질의 합성 및 물리화학적 특성

In this study polymer electrolytes containing ethylene carbonate group which have a high dielectric constant and poly(ethylene glycol) as branches were prepared by the Williamson reaction between poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether and block copolymers composed of glycerol-1,2-carbonate and 4-chloromethyl styrene. Interestingly, the highest ionic conductivity of $1.75{\times}10^{-5}S\;cm^{-1}$ was observed from the polymer electrolyte having 7 mol% of ethylene carbonate and the [EO]:[Li] ratio of 32:1. Moreover, it was found that the electrochemical stability of polymer electrolyte was achieved up to 5.5 V because of the presence of ethylene carbonate. 본 연구에서는 glycerol-1,2-carbonate와 4-chloromethyl styrene을 함유하는 공중합체를 합성하고, poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether 와의 Williamson 반응을 이용하여 poly(ethylene glycol)이 가지로 도입됨과 동시에 높은 유전상수의 에틸렌 카보네이트를 함유하는 고분자전해질을 제조하였다. 흥미롭게도 전해질의 상온 이온전도도는 7 mol%의 에틸렌 카보네이트를 포함하는 가지형 고분자에서 $1.75{\times}10^{-5}S\;cm^{-1}$으로 가장 높게 얻어졌고, 이때 [EO]:[Li] 비율의 최적화는 32:1이었다. 또한 에틸렌 카보네이트기의 존재에 의해 고분자전해질의 전기화학적 안정성을 5.5 V까지 확보할 수 있었다.
