1980년대부터 2000년대까지의 세계미용연합단체에서 주관하는 헤어드레싱 월드 챔피언십의 분석

Both international and global trends are simultaneously increasing the academic ability and skill of beauticians. In fact, students and faculty at many beauty junior colleges and high schools, as well as current beauticians are increasingly interested in beauty and skill competitions. When beauticians compete in hair world championships and do well consistently, their interest in domestic and international competitions grows rapidly. This study aimed to contribute to the growth of the Korean beauty industry by analyzing the characteristics of trends at the Organization Mondiale Coiffure (OMC) hair world championship competitions. To accomplish this aim, the characteristics of winning styles and changes in designs from the 1980s to the 2000s were analyzed to examine hairstyles and colors at these international competitions. Individual styles were highlighted in the 1980s at a time when the world’s economy achieved rapid growth and the permanent wave was in fashion due to the development of various equipments and the release of styling products such as mousse and gel. In the 1990s, various styles coexisted, emphasizing one’s individuality. In the 2000s, a light cut style and bold makeup and hair colors were popular. This study discusses Korean hairdressing via participation in international hair contests and raises the perception of domestic beauticians by analyzing the changing trends in hairstyles at these international contests. Young students should continue to engage in a broad study of hairstyles at such international contests.

As the beauty industry is one field of the living art, it plays an important role in creating new art based on formative property as well as satisfying a desire, which becomes the standard of showing cultural level or happiness scale. To create this art, there is necessity for an effort to further develop the beauty field through exchanging with diverse studies around, namely, fine arts, music, architecture and clothing. Through this effort, the beauty work will be able to have rich creativity according to the diverse expression styles in value of work as well as the formative organism, which is living as what is individual. Also, through creating this artistry, the emergence of the unified harmony and new trend will come to be noticed to the whole of the beauty industry. Accordingly, the beauty contest comes to allow beauty artists to possibly display skill, by which new technique, color, theme, design and originality become the theme by beauty artists. The trend, which is newly created through beauty contest, comes to create new style. This researcher analyzed by style, by color, and morphologically centering on items of fantasy hair style, hair by night for black people, stage make-up, body painting for women and men, nail fantasy total look, and women's hair extension among the awarded works for the recent Hair-World in 2006 and 2008. There are now many international beauty championships and domestic beauty contests centering on Hair-World Championships. Many beauticians are desired to join with having interest in beauty contest, to exert artists' creativity, and then to be conducive to development in the beauty circles.

In beauty and desire, especially hair styles, as the quality of life increases with cultural development and the advent of mass media. Even in weddings that want to be recognized as the most beautiful bride, individuality also appears in combination with other genres. In order to promote the bride’s hair style to a more differentiated and unique style, this study sought to study the wedding hair style with the bride’s own hair by applying a hat that can focus attention with the hair style. To find the motif of the hat, we studied wedding hair by using four hats from the Chanel Fashion Show, which always features hats in fashion shows, as motifs through internet data. Moe. Floppy, a wide-brimmed, decorative form of straw hats by selecting the characteristics and formative images of the hat, produced a beautiful, natural bride’s wedding hair style by expressing the large brim as waves and flowers. The round, flat form of beret, without a pack, was beautifully and romantically expressed using the cocoon technique. Canotier, a hat that now stands for Italian sailors, is in the form of a straw hat in a stylish, modern style. The motif of the hat is reinterpreted as a creative work of wedding hair, and it is aimed to develop into a field of art that advances by new design development and individual creative activity by approaching various ways and eyes using material of hair.
