This paper is the experimental study on the behavior of welded H-shape beam using TMCP steel. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the elasto-plastic behavior of TMCP steel when it is applied as a beam member. A total of six specimens has been tested for two different types of beams. The specimens were loaded monotonic and cyclic. In the cyclic loading, the parameter for load control based on the value of vertical deflection corresponds to yield moment of beam. The test results are summarized with parameters of yield strength, ultimate strength and energy dissipation capacity.

The inelastic lateral buckling strength of light weight H-shaped steel beams, which are cold-formed and arc-welded, is evaluated under pure bending moment and moment gradient. And intermediate restraint condition is considered for assessing restraint effects. The testing results are compared with the numerical analysis using stub column curves based on the tangent modulus theory. From the results the restraint limit value in the inelastic range of mechanical properties of steel and the intermediate restraint effects are discussed quantitatively.

The buckling strength of light-weight H section columns is investigated experimentally and analytically. Experiments consist of tendon test, stub column test and long column tests. Test results on column buckling are compared with theoretical predictions based on the beam-column concept. Most probable column buckling curves are derived through statistical evaluation of test results. And recommendations are presented for design of this type of column in association with the Institude of Korean Architecture standards, the SSRC column curves and the ECCS column curves.
경량 H 형강주의 좌굴내력에 관한 연구 (초기변형 및 편심의 영향)

Test results on column buckling are compared with theoretical predictions based on the beam-column concept. Most probable column buckling curves are derived through statistical evaluation of test results. The effect of initial crookedness and eccentricity is considered and the buckling strength in case of initial crookedness and eccentricity is also investigated by numerical analysis.

This paper provides the results of an experimental study performed on beam to Concrete Filled Circular Steel Column connections with external stiffener rings through the Simple Tension Method. A total of 21 beam to column connections are tested to investigate the effect on local failure on connections. Important parameters in this study are the width of the external rings and whether or not the external rings are welded to the circular column. The test results are summarized for the strength, stiffness and strain distribution of each connection. Also, the strength and stiffness of each connection on a column filled with concrete is compared with a similar connection on a column not filled with concrete.

This paper is concerned with an theoretical study on the local load-caning capacities of Concrete-Filled Circular Tubular (CFCT) column to H-beam connections by yield line theory. In this paper, the three cases which is assumed the yield line are involved. The first model is simplified yield line model. The first model is modified by x and kx factor. The last one is Morita`s model. Local load-carrying capacities are compared experimental results with theoretical ones about each cases. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the local strength of connections to evaluate the structural behavior of the CFCT column to H-beam connections. Being studied on the test and theoretical results. the basic data for non-diaphragm connection design would be suggested.

This paper shows test results of welding properties and hardness of the welded areas, made of Thermo Mechanical Control Process(TMCP) plate. A tendon test across the weld and a bend test for ductility welds were performed for the TMCP. Four types welding method are applied FCAW(Flux Cored Arc Welding). GMAW(Gas metal Arc Welding) SAW(Submerged Arc Welding). ESW(Electro Slag Welding) Tests result show that TMCP plates have satisfied yield strength, ultimite strength according to Korean Standards and hardness results also meet to KS, even though an enormous welding heat influence to welded areas.

The objective of this study is to investigate the longitudinal shear strength of the composite slabs with the composite metal deckplate. The experiment was done with composite slabs which use the composite deckpalte. This paper compares the most important design methods for composite slabs - the m+k method and the partial connection theory. The partial connection theory has been established by Helmut Bode. 12 specimens(SPI) were tested for the study. And the informations of 2 specimens were used from a previous test. Parameters in the study are the thickness of deckplate(1.2, 1.6㎜), and shear span(L/7, L/3. L/4), shapes of deck plate etc. Based on experimental and analytical study, the longitudinal shear strength in the shear span were developed in this study. The modified formula would be consisted for the longitudinal shear strength.

Cold-formed deck sections are used in many composite floor slab applications wherein the steel deck serves not only as the form for the concrete during construction but also as the principal tensile reinforcement for the bottom fiber of the composite slab. This paper provides the results of an experimental study performed for the composite slabs with the new shaped deck plates with the locking ribs, the dove tails, and the powerful embossment, which are the mechanical means to improve positive interlocking effect between the deck and the concrete. A total of 28 specimens are tested to clarify the composite effects between the concrete and metal deck plate. Important parameters in this study are the span length. the thickness of the deck plate, support condition, and whether shear studs are placed at each support or not. The test results are summarized for the maximum load and failure behavior for the specimens.
