Analysis method for the radiation heat transfer from the duct burner flame to the heat exchanger in a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) was presented to supplement the existing thermal design process. Flame on a burner and a heat exchanger were postulated as imaginary planes and flame temperature, surface and emissivity was simplified in a aspect of engineering approach. The calculated local flame radiative heat flux on the heating surface was compared with the heat flux of 3-atomic gas radiation and convection.

1950년대 서구 영화, 그 중에서도 ‘해프방 스타일’을 널리 퍼트린 〈로마의 휴일〉(윌리엄 와일러, 1953)이 당시 한국 영화와 문화에 미친 서구적 근대성과 시각적 스타일에 대해선 많은 선행 연구가 이뤄졌다. 그렇지만 정작 반영의 결과로 당시 한국 영화에 형성된 근대적 공간의 특성과 욕망에 대한 구체적 분석은 상대적으로 소홀히 다뤄져 왔다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제의식을 바탕으로 1956년작〈서울의 휴일〉(이용민)에 드러난 근대성, 그 중에서도 서울이라는 도시를 배경으로 구축된 근대적 공간과 그 공간에 반영된 욕망을 분석하고 그 특성을 도출하고자 하였다. 분석 결과 〈서울의 휴일〉에 등장하는 서울은 근대적 외양 여부를 떠나 근대와 전근대가 혼재하는 복합적이고 모순적인 공간의 성격을 보였다. 영화 도입부의 내레이션은 서울이 평소 러시아워에 시달리는 근대 도시임을 알려주는 한편으로 낯선 사람에게 스스럼없이 신원을 묻는 전근대성을 드러낸다. 주인공 남희원의 뷔너스 산부인과 건물은 서구적 근대 건축의 외양을 띠고 있지만 주거와 동네 사랑방 역할을 겸하고 있었다. 가장 흥미로운 점은 공간의 행위자가 남성이냐 여성이냐에 따라 공간의 성격이 다르게 나타난다는 점이다. 여성이 주도하는 공간은 무국적 환상성이 강조되거나 서구적 근대 공간이 주를 차지하는 반면 남성의 경우 전통 공간에 대한 욕망이 강하게 나타나며 영화의 종결부에 이르면 여성들 또한 전통적 공간과 여성상으로 회귀하는 경향을 보였다. In the 1950s Hollywood movies spreading out Western modernity and visaul style in Korean culture and movie. And a number of prior studies have been made on the influence of Hollywodd movie, especially ‘Roman Holiday’(William Wyler, 1953). However, concrete analysis of the character and desire of modern space- as a result of that influence and reflection- formed in Korean cinema, was relatively neglected. The purpose of this study is to analyze the modernity revealed ‘Holiday in Seoul (Yong-min, Lee, 1956) and, in particular, the modern space built around Seoul and the desire reflected in it. As a result of the analysis, Seoul appeared in ‘holiday in Seoul’ showed the character of a complex contradictory space where modern and pre-modern are mixed off whether it is a modern appearance or not. The narration of the film’s introductory section reveals that Seoul is a modern city suffering from a rush hour, while revealing the pre-modernity of asking strangers for identity without hesitation. The heroine Hee-won, Nam’s Venus Obstetrics and Gynecology building has the appearance of western modern style building but also plays a role of residence and village hall. What is interesting is that the character of space appears differently depending on whether the main actor of the space is male or female. In the space led by women, stateless fantasy is emphasized and Western modern space dominates, while in men the desire for traditional space appears strongly. But, by the end of the film, women also showed a tendency to return to traditional spaces and feminine images.
단입자 촤 burnout 계산을 통한 촤 연소율에 미치는 CO₂ 가스화 반응성에 관한 연구

A simple one-dimensional calculation of char burnout was conducted to show the effect of CO₂ gasification reactivity on the total char burnout under oxy-combustion environment. A global char burnout model considering the influence of pore diffusion, chemical reaction and mass transfer and a double-film model was used. The apparent activation energy for char-CO₂ reaction was determined reasonably from the literature and the apparent pre-exponential factor was changed based on the relative rate of CO₂ gasification to oxidation. When the char-CO₂ reaction was included in the calculation of 1600K condition, the char burnout was improved by 1.1% in the case of low reactivity and by 9.1% in the case of high reactivity, relative to the char-O₂ only case. Also, this CO₂ gasification effect on the char burnout was increased at high temperature because of the activation of the char-CO₂ reaction.
순천시 기후학교 환경교육에 대한 초등학생들의 인식 및 교육효과

While global warming and climate change have been issues with global implications for ecology and nature as well as for the economy, politics and social sector, Korean's climate change awareness has been reported to be low. This phenomenon can be attributed to the fact that there is neither a systematic and continuous educational program for climate change nor a system to implement and support it. Although environmental education traditionally has not been a center of focus in most schools, the move towards green growth in national policies are slowly influencing school education as well. Throughout the year 2009, Green Suncheon 21 has offered a program called 'Suncheon Climate School' designed for elementary schools and regional centers for underprivileged children. Program instructors were sent to schools and centers that requested such climate change education. The aim of this study is to evaluate the success of the program and to provide feedback on its impacts. According to the study, students' interests in climate change have increased after the climate change education, and students found the lectures to be informative and interesting. Students said that they became more aware of the serious consequences of global warming and climate change and found that such education is beneficial and should be available to a wider population. This study suggests that first, school teachers should be aware of climate change and support such educational programs to be a part of the regular curriculum. Second, the content and the level of the program should be designed in consideration of the corresponding school curriculum to make the subject relevant and accessible to students.
순산소 미분탄 연소 CFD 연구에 사용되는 촤 반응속도 모델의 적절한 사용에 대한 연구

Many computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulations have treated the coal kinetics poorly due to large physical domain sizes and high computational complexity, particularly for the recent oxy-coal boilers. Furthermore, some modelers’ lack of understanding of the kinetic rate model seems to worsen the simulation accuracy. This study is to suggest the importance of proper use of single-film global kinetic model generally used in CFD code to describe the oxy-fuel combustion of coal char through simple char burnout calculation.

Commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) codes traditionally rely on the computational efficiency of the simplified single-film apparent char kinetic model to predict char particle temperatures and char conversion rates in pulverized coal boilers. The aim of this study is to evaluate the reliability of the single-film apparent kinetic model and to suggest the importance of proper use of this model. For this, a parametric study was conducted with a consideration of main parameters such as Stefan flow, product species, particle evolution, and kinetic parameters.
미분탄 촤의 고온 총괄 CO₂ 가스화 반응율 분석을 위한 실험적 연구

During oxy-fuel combustion, pulverized coal combustion occurs in the presence of elevated CO₂ level because of flue gas recirculation (FGR). Recent experimental and computational investigations about oxy-coal combustion have suggested that char-CO₂ gasification rates are sufficiently high under oxy-fuel combustion conditions to significantly influence the char combustion process. However, experimental measurements of such rates and its kinetic data under the relevant high temperature conditions (T > 1700 K, 1 atm) are lacking and this makes it difficult to predict the effect of CO₂ gasification reaction on the overall char consumption rate. To address this, we have measured both the char particle temperature size and velocity statistics and the char mass loss when two U.S. coal chars(a bittuminous and a subbituminous) are introduced into a high-temperature optical flow reactor with nearly 100% CO₂. The experimental measurements show a temperature decrease from the gasifying particles (consistent with the strong endothermicity of the char gasification reaction) and show increasing mass loss with increasing residence time and temperature, as expected. The overall gasification rate and rate coefficient are derived from the measured data and compared with the literature data.
Inter-Domain Curriculum Learning for Domain Generalization

Despite the rapid advancements in deep learning, the appropriate performance is not guaranteed under domain-shift. This problem has been addressed through domain generalization (DG). In DG, decreasing the required computation is difficult to achieve because training should be performed multiple times to infer the average performance owing to the large deviation of performance. We propose inter-domain curriculum learning, a method that sequentially transforms easy-to-learn domain data to difficult-to-learn domain data. Quantitative experiments have demonstrated that the average performance increased by 1.08 points and the performance deviation is reduced. Moreover, the research cycle can be accelerated by reducing 16.7% of the computation.
