As the noise and vibration performance becomes more important, the rubber mount applied to vehicle in order to reduce the vibration of engine, driveline and road input should be more carefully with the points of view of transmitting vibration to body. This paper presents a review of basic theory, development and application in the field, 1) engine mount system 2) driveline system 3) rubber dynamic characteristics 4) exhaust system 5) suspension system.

A acoustic characteristics of catalytic converter is investigated using SYSNOISE and analytical method. The equivalent density and sound speed for monolith of converter is utilized to analyze the acoustic performance referring from the previous another research. The characteristics of in1et and outlet conical duct are investigated using SYSNOISE. The results are combined into transfer matrix to acquire TL(transmission loss) of the converter. TL is compared to the experimental result, which correlates quite well. Some parameters are changed and the effects are examined.

The idle rattle phenomena is investigated for a truck with a diesel engine and manual transmission equipped. A torsional vibration model including engine, clutch and transmission is constructed and the torsional vibration response is simulated. The results show good agreement with idle rattle specification. The evaluation index for idle rattle is newly proposed, which is expressed in terms of impact forces between colliding gears within the transmission. A simplified model is utilized in order to determine clutch characteristics. The effects of system parameter variation on idle rattle are also examined, so it is clarified that clutch characteristics, flywheel inertia, shaft inertia, gear backlash and c1rag torque are influential on reduction of rattle. The torsional characteristics of clutch are revised and about 7dB reduction can be achieved.

Recently, it has been reported that localized surface plasmon resonance of metal nanoparticles (NPs) can engineer fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) process. By placing metal NPs in the vicinity of donor-acceptor pairs of fluorophores, the FRET efficiency and Förster radius have been strongly modified to alter the fluorescence properties of both donors and acceptors. Since FRET is an important process in biology and optoelectronics, the metal-coupled FRET could find interesting opportunities in a number of applications. Toward this opportunity, however, it is still necessary to develop an assembling method to organize metal NPs and donor-acceptor pair of fluorophores on a nanometer scale. In this study, we investigated a simple approach based on diblock copolymer micelles to place donor-acceptor pair of fluorescent dyes around Ag NPs on solid substrate. By analyzing the fluorescence spectra, we found that the fluorescence intensities of both donors and acceptors were enhanced, but FRET efficiency was reduced by plamonic effect. The reduced FRET under metal NPs has been further discussed via the competitive decay processes of excited donors in terms of FRET and non-FRET pathways.

The chorion protein (A, B, C, D, E, HcA, HcB) are synthesized by monolayer of follicular epitherial cells and assembled after secretion into eggshell in B. mori. The chorion gene contains 15-multigene families (the pair-HcA, HcB) which are divergently oriented gene pairs in B. mori. The chorion protein of B. mandarina (Korean wild silkmoth) apparently differ those of B. mori in the structure, morphology and protein secondary structure. The chorion gene of B. mandarina have few been studied yet. We've studied the chorion gene of B. mandarina, constructed wild silkmoth genomic library and obtained the 10 Hc clones. 8 clones are sequenced and characterized (some are partial sequence). The sequence similarities of B. mori and B. mandarina of each families are 90% and 85% respectively. Some of them are changed the charge of amino acids in the terminal of central domain. The variable region of C-arm is composed of Cys-Gly, Cys-Gly-Gly repeated structure which determines the length variation in B. mandarina.. It means the genetic exchanges are occurred in the region among multigene families. We could find the structural and evolutionary relationship.

Selection of a right weather data set has been considered as one of important factors for a successful building energy audit process. A set of 30 year raw weather data base for six major cities has been developed to provide the weather data file for building energy audit and retrofit analysis in Korea. The program named as KWDP (KIER Weather Data Processor) uses the DB to produce a right data set for a specific building energy performance simulation program like DOE2.1E. A program called WMAKE has been developed to generate the right set of input parameters for DOE2.1E weather utility program. The set of the programs could provide the right weather data for specific building energy audit and retrofit analysis.
