This paper treats the temperature effectiveness of the two-fluid counterflow regenerator in a rotary type. To avoid continual interpolation and to obtain the simple result in calculating that, it obtained the particular solution for the direct-transfer-type counterflow heat exchanger by the graphical procedures. Also, it introduced the empirical formula for the influence of the ratio of rotor matrix to minimum working fluid heat capacity rate with the particular solution induced. Particularly, substituting the published results of temperature effectiveness into the program, it obtained the simple and convenient equation which can applicate in the counterflow regenerator in a rotary type. To compare and discuss the results induced, selecting the regenerative air preheater and applying the their running datum and specifications to the related results, it shows that the above results are agree with the published results within absolute relative error, 3.0%.

One of the most important and powerful tools available for design and/or study of the operation of complex systems and processes is simulation. Since automated material handling systems like AS/RS are often quite complex, a network-based simulation model is developed to analyze an automobile part supplier's automated storage and retrieval system(AS/RS). The network simulation model is implemented in the SLAM Ⅱ on a VAX 8800 computer. Performance of the AS/RS was tested for 3 dispatching rules, 3 work load levels, 2 storage policies, 3 levels of stacker crane break-down, and 2 conveyor system layouts. Results indicate that the AS/RS performance is primarily affected by the dispatching rule and work load level.

This article aims to critically review recent U. S. RMA-centered theories of warfare having prevailed after the 1991-92 Gulf War upon which the current ROKA military transformation project, the Vision 2020, largely based. In order to evaluate validity as a universal warfighing theory of NCW (Network Centric Warfare) and EBO (Effects-Based Operations), this article reviews the intrinsic strength and weakness of the theories as well as results of several recent wars that the U. S. Army conducted based on doctrines derived form such theories, In addition, this article examines the impact of certain military technology or weapon system in some well-known historical wars to draw lessons regarding the relationship between technology(weapon system) and military victory. Historical examples has shown that victories in war were not achieved by new technologies alone in most cases. Rather military victories tended to owe to combination of new technology, original doctrine and well conceived organization. Although the U. S. Armed Forces showed brilliant records of operational successes anchored on the system of PGMs and NCW concepts in Iraq (1991-92; 2003) and Afghanistan (2001-02), it must be pointed out that the operational successes did not bring about political ones in cases of Iraq and Afghanistan. It reminds us of perils of too technologically tilted approach to the conduct of war. In sum, one ought to recognize that superior technology nowadays became a necessary condition of success but is not yet a sufficient condition, the ROKA needs to be abreast with development trends of military technologies and related theoretical concepts, it need not too be in a hurry in adopting cutting edged war-making technologies at the expense of large amount of budget. The essay recommends for the ROKA several basic requirements for coping with conduct of future wars as well as establishing a 'Korean style military thought'; (1) Recognition of importance of technology in conduct of war; (2) Imposition of officer self-study hours in working days; (3) Establishing a lifestyle of military professionalism in the Korean officer corps; (4) Setting up small or large groups of think-tanks that are specialized in army doctrinal formulation.

ALC(Autoclaved lightweight concrete) 제조공정 중에서 예비양생이 완료된 반 경화제품(cake)인 상태에서 탈형을 실시할 때 적절한 탈형 시기가 지난 후에 탈형을 하게 되면 보습력이 떨어지고 절단 시 피아노선이 절단되어 제품에 균열이 발생할 우려가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 탈형 시기의 관리기준이 되는 경도(hardness)에 관한 예측을 하기 위해 관련된 변수들 간에 상호관련성을 찾고자 다중회귀분석(multiple regression analysis)을 이용한 연구를 진행하였다. ALC 제조공정의 V/T(Vibration Time)대기, V/T동작, 발포 높이, 경화시간, 타설 온도, Rising, C/S비의 독립변수(Independent variables)들이 종속변수(Dependent variables)인 경도(hardness)에 어떠한 관련성이 있는지를 다중 회귀분석을 이용한 연구를 진행하였다. In the ALC(Autoclaved lightweight concrete) manufacturing process, if the pre-cured semi-cake is removed after proper time is passed, it will be hard to retain the moisture and be easily cracked. Therefore, in this research, we took the research by multiple regression analysis to find relationship between variables for the prediction the hardness that is the control standard of the removal time. We study the relationship between Independent variables such as the V/T(Vibration Time), V/T movement, expansion height, curing time, placing temperature, Rising and C/S ratio and the Dependent variables, the hardness by multiple regression analysis. In this study, first, we calculated regression equation by the regression analysis, then we tried phased regression analysis, best subset regression analysis and residual analysis. At last, we could verify curing time, placing temperature, Rising and C/S ratio influence to the hardness by the estimated regression equation.
TFT-LCD 백라이트 유닛(BLU) 램프용 전극 미세 접합부의 강도 및 미세조직

TFT-LCD is the most popular type of flat display panel in the information technology field. The back light unit is a main part of the structure of a TFT-LCD panel. Occasionally, studies have shown that failures of the CCFL of the BLU occur due to the poor weld characteristics of these materials. The aim of this study was to prepare some technical data and to characterize a microjoined electrode for the CCFL. Microstructure examinations, microhardness measurements, resistance measurements and microtensile tests of the microjoined electrode were carried out. The result indicates that a large amount of grain coarsening exists in the heat-affected zone (HAZ) of the weld between the cup and the pin. This grain coarsening of the HAZ between the cup and pin is caused by the welding cycle, which may have an influence on the lowest microhardness values. Fracturing of the microjoined electrode also occurred at the HAZ close to the cup between the weld holding the cup and the pin. Additionally, no specific changes of the electrical resistance among the cup, pin, and lead wire themselves or in the microjoined electrode were observed.

Present study is concerned with an experimental study on the cooling characteristics of heat-generating components arranged in channels which are made by printed circuit boards. To estimate the thermal performance of the heat-generating components arranged by $5\times11$ in channel flow, three variables are used: the inlet velocity, the height of channel, and row number of the component. The cooling characteristics of the heat-generating components such as the surface temperature rise, the adiabatic temperature rise, the adiabatic heat transfer coefficient, and the effect of thermal wake are compared with the result of the experiment and the numerical analysis. The experimental result is in a good agreement with the numerical analysis. The heat transfer coefficient increases as the Reynolds number increases, while the thermal wake function calculated for each row decreases as the Reynolds number increases. In addition, it is found that Nu-Re correlation equation is Identical to the previous studies, and the empirical correlation equation between the thermal wake function and Re is presented.
