Objective: To evaluate pre-stroke bone mineral density (BMD) of the patients with first stroke events. We previously reported that pre-stroke BMD of first stroke patients with severe immobility were relatively lower than those of normal population. In current study, we evaluated pre-stroke BMD of patients in first stroke patients regardless of severity or type of stroke. Method: The 121 patients with first stroke events were included. To reflect pre-stroke BMD, patients who had bone densitometry scans within the first thirty days from onset were chosen. The BMDs of the lumbar spine and both femurs (total hip and femoral neck) were examined. Results: Among the 121 stroke patients, 56.2% were osteoporotic and 28.1% were osteopenic. In the female patients, 78.1% were osteoporotic and 20.5% were osteopenic. In the male patients, 22.9% were osteoporotic and 39.6% were osteopenic. Conclusion: Patients with first stroke events showed a high prevalence of pre-stroke low BMD. In the acute stages of stroke, bone loss progression is rapid. Therefore, such a high prevalence of pre-stroke low BMD can bring on a greater risk of fractures and additional functional loss. Early screening and active intervention of osteoporosis including patient education from the acute stages of stroke is crucial. In order to find a way to utilize paper mill sludge, its composting was conducted with anaerobic waste of kraft paper sludge, raw kraft paper sludge, and CMC sludge(CMC : Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose) under aerobic condition at 50℃. It took 3 days for initial fermentation with anaerobic waste and CMC sludge, and six days with raw kraft paper sludge. Each compost was applied to radish(Rhaphanus Stativus L.), and absorption rate of staple nutrients increased 6.7~9.3 times higher in N, 17~21 times in P and 2~3 times in K than control at the harvesting stage. Also, organic matter contents were increased 1.5~2.3 times 4.5~5.3 times in CEC compared to control soil.

In this study, the effect of mixing condition of raw material powders possessing various particle size and particle size distribution on thermite reaction efficiency was investigated. When fine raw powders are used, rather the reaction yield tends to decrease due to agglomeration. In contrast, coarse raw powders make deteriorate the contact area between raw material powders containing Al reducing agent. To ensure the optimal thermite reaction efficiency, it is required to optimize a mixture condition of raw material powders prior to thermite reaction. From the current experiment, the maximum thermite reaction efficiency is 77%, which came from Nb2O5 + NiO +Al mixtures with size distribution from 9.25 to 22.63 m.

This paper describes result of a study on safety against a fire of charging cable for mobile phone for vehicle. Combustion on the USB cable in the car was happened while driving. Gas coming from the burning USB cable could be a reason which can make a secondary car accident since the driver also can be embarrassed while driving. In order to prevent a secondary car accident connected on the road, to research a reason why USB cable can emit gas and be burned in charging. We did simulation test with abnormal fault condition for the electronic component on the board in the USB cable. So we get the result from abnormal fault condition simulation test, for instance, shorted test for output terminal of 8 pin switch, shorted test for chip resistor after thermal aging in the condition 25 ℃ , 93 % RH during 48 hours. To analysis the result of all test, Combustion on the USB cable was not the 8 pin but other electrical component such as a chip resistor. Therefore we guess that the reason for USB cable combustion in charging in a car was not 8 pin and a LED but another defective component.
