The foremost crisis of the Korean church is the crisis of quantity. For the last century, the Korean churches experienced unprecedented growth. However, it is no longer the case: the growth has slowed down, and now the churches entered into the phase of decrease. The other crisis comes from the quality issue. As the churches are not responding to their calling, they lost the trust of society. It brought the impasse of evangelization and ministry, which calls for the new alternative to overcome the current situation. The crisis is related to the confusion of identity. Thus, if the churches can redirect themselves with the gospel, they will be renewed. When churches were in the chaos, Luther persevered to cling to the words of God; found the identity of the churches from the Bible. It enabled the reformation of churches in the medieval era. The reformation was possible thanks to the power of the gospel, which eliminated errors, empowers and saves the sinners. The reformation through the gospel starts from the seminaries which foster the pastors. By raising good church leaders, one can also reform the church. The education from the seminary has to be followed by churches to conduct the gospel education and ministry for the congregation; the people who grow in the words of God. The congregations can establish the body of Christ only after they stand firm themselves. Lastly, the future of the church can be guaranteed, only when the next generation is growing with the word of God. When the Korean churches strive to recover its identity through the gospel, they will be able to protect themselves with the congregation who are guarded with the gospel, and they will eventually change the society.
