        ABSTRACT The study was conducted to determine influence of harvesting date, mulching and plant density on growth and yield of Angelica acutiloba KITAGAWA. Harvesting was conducted on 3, October 26 December in 1997 and 4 March in 1998. The later harvesting date, the more increased the growth of below ground system, but the growth of above ground system decreased. Significance of the relationship between plant height and root diameter was not recognized in all of plots, on the other hand, plant height decreased but root diameter increased when harvesting date was late. Plant height and root diameter increased respectively with a mulching of polyethylene film in mulching treatment, and on a broad planting density. The significant relationship of root weights between fresh and dry was high recognized. The root weights of fresh and dry increased at the mulching of black polyethylene film and on the broad planting density. The number of branches decreased at the early harvesting date but increased at the late harvesting date and the most number of branches was 21.7 in the mulching of transparent polyethylene film of all the plots. Fresh root yield per lOa, was 1300kg, increased as the harvesting date was late, and was 1225kg in the mulching black polyethylene film, and was 1622kg in the planting distance of 40x15cm, respectively.

        ABSTRACT This study was conducted to determine influence of planting date, seeding rate and phosphate rate on main growth, characters, yield and chemical composition of senna from March 11, 1998 to December in Cheju Province. Days to flowering was lessened as planting date was delayed. The plant height of senna was the longest at 31 March planting (99cm) than at the other planting date. Stem diameter, number of leaves were increased at 31 March but number of branches was not affected by planting date. And number of withering leaves were increased as planting date was earlier. Fresh forage yield per lOa, for senna was the greatest (4,660kg) at 31 March planting, the second was 4,397kg at 1 April planting and the reduced the 3,473kg at 11 March planting. Also dry matter yield per lOa, crude protein yield and total digestable nutrient (TDN) yield was nearly the same tendency. Crude protein, crude fat percent was the greastest at 11 March planting and than decreased with further increased at planting date. Crude ash and crude fiber percent was decreased tendency as planting date was delayed. Nitrogen free extract (NFE), TDN percent was increased tendency as planting date was delayed. SPAD reading value of leaves had an efficiency increased as planting date was delayed.

        제주지역에서 재식밀도에 따른 양마의 생육특성 , 수량 및 조성분 변화

        Kenaf(Hibiscus cannabinus L.) was grown at six planting densities(50 x 40㎝, 50 x 30㎝, 50 x 24㎝, 50 x 20㎝, 50 x 17㎝ and 50 x 15㎝) from 25 April to 25 Sep. in 1999 at Jeju island to determine the optimum plant density. As plant density increased, from 17 to 43 plants per ㎡ plant height increased linearly from 252.2㎝ to 295.1㎝. As planting density increased, the number of leaves, branches and stem diameter was decreased but the number of withering leaves increased. Increasing plant density from fresh forage yield, dry matter (DM) yield, crude protein (CP) yield and total digestible nutrients (TDN) increased from 75.8MT/ha to 95.5MT/ha, from 14.9MT/ha to 18.3MT/ha, from 1.9MT/ha to 3.0MT/ha and from 7.6MT/ha to 11.1MT/ha, respectively. However, no significant differences in these yields were found between 50 x 17 and 50 x 15㎝. Increasing plant density from 50 x 40 to 50 x 15㎝, leaf out of CP, crude fat (CF), nitrogen free extract (NFE) contents increased from 19.3% to 23.5%, from 4.7% to 6.2%, from 37.0% to 42.1 %, respectively. However, increasing plant density from 50 x 40 to 50 x 15㎝, crude fiber and crude ash contents decreased from 20.8% to 17.6%, from 9.0% to 8.2%.

        제주도에서 차풀의 파종기 이동에 따른 생육반응 수량 및 사료가치 변화

        This study was conducted to determine the influence of seeding date on growth, characteristic yield and chemical composition of Cassia mimosoides var. nomame from March 11, 1998 to December 1998 in Cheju Province. Days to flowering were lessened as seeding date was delayed. The plant height of Cassia mimosoides var. nomame was the longest when seeded on 31 March(99㎝) than at the other seeding date. When seeded before 31 March, stem diameter, number of leaves increased as seeding date was late, while number of branches remained constant. And numbers of withering leaves were increased as seeding date was earlier. Fresh forage yield per ha, for Cassia mimosoides var. nomame was the greatest (46.60MT) at 31 March seeding, the second was 43.97 MT at 10 April seeding and the reduced the 34.73MT at 11 March seeding. Also dry matter yield, crude protein yield and total digestible nutrient(TDN) yield per ha was nearly the same tendency. Crude protein, crude fat percent were the greatest at 31 March seeding and than decreased with further increased at seeding date. Crude ash and crude fiber percent tended to decrease as seeding date was delayed. Nitrogen free extract (NFE) and TDN percent tended to increase as seeding date was delayed.

        제주지역에서 파종기에 따른 양마의 사료수량 및 조성분 변화

        제주지역에서 파종기이동(4월 25일, 5월 10일, 5월 25일, 6월 10일, 6월 25일)에 따른 양마의 생육특성, 수량성 및 사료 가치를 구명하기 위하여 1999년 4월 25일에서 6월 25일까지 15일 간격으로 시험하였다. 1. 초장은 4월 25일 파종구에서 278.6 cm 였던 것이 파종기가 지연됨에 따라 점차적으로 작아져서 6월 25일 파종에서 초장은 205.7 cm로 짧아졌다. 엽수, 고엽수, 경직경, 분지수 및 개체당 무게는 초장과 비슷한 경향이었다. 2. 생초, 건초, 단백질 및 TDN수량은 4월 25일 파종구에서 각각 98.5MT/㏊, 20.7MT/㏊, 2.9MT/㏊, 11.6MT/㏊로 가장 높았으나 만파할수록 점차적으로 감수되어 6월 25일 파종에서 생초수량은 45.9MT/㏊, 건초수량은 8.2MT/㏊, 단백질수량은 1.3MT/㏊, TDN수량은 5MT/㏊로 감수되었다. 엽과 경의 생초, 건초, 단백질 및 TDN수량도 만파할수록 감소되었다. 3. 파종기가 4월 25일에서 6월 25일로 지연됨에 따라 엽의 단백질 함량은 21.5%에서 24.4%로, 조지방 함량은 5.2%에서 6.1%로, NFE 함량은 39.9%에서 41.2%로, TDN 함량은 64.3%에서 69.7%로 증가한 반면에 조섬유 함량은 엽에서 20.8%에서 17.5%로, 조회분 함량은 7.9%에서 7.0%로 감소되는 경향이었다. 경의 조단백, 조지방, NFE, TDN함량은 만파 할수록 증가되었으나 조회분 및 조섬유 함량은 반대의 경향이었다. 이상의 결과로 보아 제주도 기상, 토양의 환경조건하에서 양마의 파종적기는 4월 25일로 판단되었다. This study has been conducted from April 25, 1999 to June 25, 1999 in Jeju Province in order to determine the influence of seeding date on growth, yield and chemical composition of Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.) Delaying the seeding date from April 25 to June 25 decreased the plant height of Kenaf from 278.5 cm to 205.7 cm. As for the number of leaves, number of withering leaves, number of branches, and stem diameter decreased as the seeding date was delayed. As the seeding date was delayed, fresh forage yield decreased from 98.5MT/㏊ to 45.9MT/㏊, dry matter yield from 20.7MT/㏊ to 8.2MT/㏊, crude protein (CP) yield from 2.9MT/ha to 1.3MT/ha and total digestible nutrients (TDN) yield form 1l.6MT/㏊ to 5MT/㏊. However, both leaf yield and stem yield were nearly the same tendency. Delaying the seeding date from April 25 to June 25 increased crude protein contents of leaves from 21.5% to 24.4%, crude fat contents from 5.2% to 6.1%, nitrogen free extract (NFE) contents form 39.9% to 41.2% and TDN contents from 64.3% to 69.7%. However, delaying seeding date decreased crude fiber contents from 20.8% to 17.5%, and crude ash contents from 7.9% to 7.0%. Based on the these findings, optimum seeding date for forage production of Kenaf seems to be about 25 April in atmospheric phenomena and volcanic ash soils of Jeju island.
