        벼 유묘내염성 검정체계 확립에 의한 내염성 계통 선발

        벼 내염성 유묘검정에서 실용성, 경제성, 정밀성이 우수한 검정체계를 확립하고벼 자포니카 내염성 중간모본 및 품종개발을 위한 내염성 유전자원 및 품종을 선발 이용하고자 본 시험을 수행하였다. 1. 증류수 이용 Yoshida 양액에 NaCl를 첨가한 염처리는 0.3%, 0.5%, 0.7%로 희석한 바닷물로 Yoshida 양액을 제조한 염처리 보다 유묘 내염성 계통을 선발하는데 효율적이었다. 2. 수돗물로 양액 제조 처리는 증류수로 양액 제조 처리와 유묘 내 This study was conducted in order to breed Japonica salt tolerant rice and select salinity tolerant lines by establishing reliable and practical method of screening voluminous materials. Salinized nutrient solution by adding NaCl was effective compared with the salinized nutrient solution by adding 0.3%, 0.6% and 0.7% of diluted sea water. There was no different visual score of salinity injury between salinization using tap water and distilled water. Seedling salinity tolerant lines between region and order by year were showed very stable and reproducible results, 3~4.2 of visual score at Gyehwado-substation and International Rice Research Institute (IRRI, Philippines) in 2002, 2003 and 2004. Heading date of 6 selected seedling salt tolerant lines showed a range of 16. Aug.~21. Aug. and delayed 2~6 days than that of Donjinbyeo. Percentage of ripened grain and yield of milled rice in 6 lines was lower, 52.2~14.7% and 50~5%, respectively than those of Donjinbyeo.

        Physiological Response to Salinity Stress of Japonica/Indica Lines Tolerant to Salt at Seedling Stage

        Physiological responses to salinity stress were evaluated in six rice genotypes differing in their tolerance to salinity at the seedling stage. Susceptible genotypes (‘Dongjingbyeo’, ‘Hwayeongbyeo’, and ‘IR29’) showed salt injury symptoms (mean 8.8) and higher visual score under salt stress than that of tolerant ones (‘Pokkali’, ‘IR74009’, and ‘IR73571’). As salinity affects growth and physiological parameters, the six genotypes thus showed significant reduction because of salt stress. Tolerant Japonica/Indica bred lines (‘IR74009’, ‘IR73571’) showed lower reduction, 33.9%, 34.5%, and 50%, respectively, in plant seedling height, dry shoot weight and dry root weight than those of the susceptible Japonica varieties (‘Dongjingbyeo’,‘Hwayeongbyeo’), and the highest reduction under salt stress was observed in dry root weight, followed by dry shoot weight and seedling height, respectively. Shoot Na^+ concentration of IR74099 and IR73571 was lower than that of the susceptible varieties, ‘Dongjinbyeo’ and ‘Hwayeongbyeo’. There were no significant differences among genotypes in root Na^+ concentration. Shoot K^+ concentration showed a reverse tendency compared to shoot Na^+ concentration. IR74009 and IR73571 had considerably lower ratio compared to ‘Dongjinbyeo’ and ‘Hwayeongbyeo’ in Na^+/K^+ ratio of their shoot and was not different the tolerant check, ‘Pokkali’.

        A New Rice Cultivar with High Grain Quality, Adaptability to Reclaimed Saline Soil and Multi-Disease Resistance, “Cheongho”

        Research Institute (HARI), NICS, RDA, in 2004. This cultivar has a short grain shape and about 123 days growth duration from trans-planting to harvesting under the reclaimed saline area of the south-western and the mid-western coastal plain and Honam plain of Korea.The culm and spikelet number per panicle of Cheongho are similar to those of Nampyeongbyeo, while the filled grain rate is lower thanstandard variety. This cultivar has medium size of brown rice, and shows resistant reaction to bacterial leaf blight, leaf blast and striperoteinand amylose content of rice grain are 6.9% and 19.2%, respectively. The palatability of coked rice of Cheongho is better than Nampy-eongbyeo. The milled rice yield is about 5.53 MT/ha under the standard fertilizer level of the ordinary transplanting cultivation. Cheon-gho would be adaptable for the reclaimed saline area of the south-western and the mid-western coastal plain and Honam plain of Korea.

        Identifying Markers Associated with Salinity Tolerance at Seedling Stage in Rice

        The F2 breeding population from a cross between IR73571-3B-11-3-K2 (Indica/japonica, high tolerance) and Dongjinbyeo(Japonica, moderately susceptible) was screened for salinity tolerance at seedling stage with electrical conductivity(EC) of 18 dSm-1. The frequency distribution of the salinity reaction was continuous and skewed towards the susceptible parent Dongjinbyeo. Thirteen markers were saturated with the target region of the chromosome 1. Two QTLs, qST-S1 and qST-S2, were detected found to be related to salt tolerance at seedling stage on chromosome 1 with LOD 4.21 and 3.8 and explained 13% and 11.8% of phenotypic variations respectively. In allele effect of a2a2b1b2 and a1a2b2b2, the mean of salt tolerance showed the difference between two QTLs. Thus, the linkage association on both the QTLs might be too strong to get the recombination type, which could explain the independence of two QTLs. The segregation distortion at 5% significant level was shown by eight markers of thirteen makers. RM1287 located in segregation distortion part, whereas RM7075 didn't show segregation distortion.

        Characteristics of Patients Who Visit Urologic Outpatient Department via Health Promotion Center

        Purpose: Health examination is one of the methods to make the diagnosis of benign prostatic hyperplasia. To evaluate factors leading to the visit to the outpatient department (OPD) in patients at the health promotion center (HPC) who did not undergo urology treatment.Materials and Methods: This observational study was based on data from an HPC database of 2,700 patients who underwent transrectal ultrasound between March 2018 and February 2021. Of these, 264 patients visited OPD. Factors affecting OPD visits, such as colonoscopy at HPC and daily fluid intake, were evaluated. Logistic regression analysis was used to identify the independent risk factors to predict the visit to OPD.Results: Age (p<0.001) and diagnosis of overactive bladder (p<0.001) were significantly correlated with the severity of the total International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS); however, colonoscopy evaluation at HPC and daily fluid intake did not correlate. Prostate volume (PV) (p=0.002) and total IPSS (p<0.001) were identified as predictive factors for the visit at OPD via HPC. The cutoff value of total IPSS and PV were 12 points and 26.7 cm<sup>3</sup>. The total IPSS (8–11) at HPC group presented higher total IPSS at OPD and the total IPSS (12–19) at HPC group showed lesser total IPSS at OPD (1.9±2.8 vs. -1.0±4.2, p=0.008).Conclusions: Twelve or more total IPSS is a significant factor that determines the OPD visit. At HPC, the primary care physician should be considered to recommend OPD to patients who have 12 or more total IPSS and 26.7 cm<sup>3</sup> or more PV at the same time.

        벼 수발아시 종실내 효소활성의 품종간 차이

        수발아는 벼 재배에서 주요한 문제 중의 하나이다. 본 연구는 수발아시 배유 저장 양분의 이용능력과 항산화 효소의 수발아성과의 관련성을 조사하기 위하여 실시하였다. 배유 저장양분 이용능력과 항산화 효소를 포함하는 효소의 활성은 수발아 중인 종자와 완전 성숙 건조한 종자에서 측정하였다. 효소 활성을 조~cdot중만생 품종으로부터 수발아성이 서로 다른 각각 4개의 품종을 비교하였다. 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 중만생종에서 출수후 40일된 종실의 수발아율은 남평벼, 퐁안벼, 호안벼, 동진벼 순으로 높았으며 동진벼의 수발아율은 약 62~% 였다. 조생종에서 수발아율은 운봉벼, 오대벼, 대관벼, 대성벼 순으로 높았으며 대성벼의 수발아율은 약 59~% 였다. 2. α -amylase 활성은 수발아율과 상관관계가 있었으며 출 수 후 40일된 종파의 α -amylase 활성은 중만생종에서는 동진벼자 가장 높았고 조생종에서는 대성벼가 가장 높았다. 또한, 완전 성숙한 건조 종자의 α -amylase 활성은 수발아성이 높은 품종에서 더 높았다. β-amylase활성은 α -amylase활성에 비하여 매우 낮았으며, 조~cdot중만생 품종 모두에서 β-amylase 활성과 수발아성 사이에는 일정한 관련성이 없었다. 3. 수발아 종자와 완전 성숙한 건조 종자의 glucose 함량은 수발아성이 높은 품종에서 더 높았다. 4. peroxidase 활성은 조~cdot중만생종 모두에서 수발아율과 밀접한 관련성을 보였으나 Catalase 활성은 수발아성과 관련성을 보이지 않았다.X> (12/26)로 다증상 야뇨증 아동의 20~% (3/15), 40~% (6/15)에 비하여 유의하게 치료율이 높았다(P<0.05). 야간 수분 섭취량은 완전반응군 385±109mL, 부분반응군 335±105mL, 무반응군 233±45 mL, 야간 다음은 각각 48.5~% (16/33), 42.4~% (14/33), 9.1~% (3/33)로 야간 수분 섭취량이 많을수록 유의하게 치료율이 높았다 (P<0.05). 야간 요량은 완전반응군 390±62mL, 부분반응군 330±136mL, 무반응군 140±43mL, 야간 다뇨는 각각 59.3~% (16/27), 40.7~% (11/27), 0~% (0/27)로 야간 요량이 많을수록 유의하게 치료 효과가 좋았다(P<0.05). 일회 최대 요량은 완전반응군 236±42 mL, 부분반응군 209±56 mL, 무반응군 107±36mL로 최대 요량이 많을수록 유의하게 치료 효과가 좋았다 (p<0.05). 연령, 성별, 일일 수분 섭취량, 다음, 일일 요량과 다뇨은 세 군간에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 야간 수분 섭취 제한 후 야간 요량의 감소 정도는 완전반응군 173±56mL, 부분반응군 135±83mL로 무반응군 28±15mL에 비하여 유의하게 컸다 (P<0.05). 최대 요량의 증가도 완전반응군 88 This study was conducted in order to exam-ine relationships between the viviparous germination ability and the antioxidative system in rice seeds and seedlings. Enzyme activities was compared among the four varieties with different viviparous germination ability from the early or mid-late maturity group. α -Amylase activities correlated with the viviparous germination rate (VGRs) and α -amylase activity in seeds of 40 days after heading (DAH) was highest in Dongjinbyeo among mid-late maturing varieties (MLMVs) and in Daeseongbyeo among EMVs. α -Amylase activity in dry mature seeds was also higher in varieties with higher VGR. Glucose contents in viviparously germinating seeds and mature dry, seeds were higher in varieties with higher VGRs. Cat-alase activities did not correlate with the VGRs in both maturity groups. However, peroxidase activities in viviparously germinating seeds were higher in varieties with higher VGRs.

        연구보문 : 벼 직파 품종육성을 위한 기존 품종의 저온발아성 분석

        This study was carried out for breeding of direct seeding cultuvars. In direct seeding cultivation, low temperature germination rate is very important character for stable emerge of early seedlings. In this study low temperature germination rate(LTGR) were tested using 89 rice cultivars breeded from 1994 to 2008 year. The results are summarized as follows. Rice cultivars were breeded after 2004 year LTGR was higher than before 2003 year breeded cultivars. In med-late maturity cultivars LTGR was slightly higher than early or medium maturity cultivars, but there was no significance. Premium quality or high quality cultivars showed more high LTGR than superyield or stability cultivars. The LTGR of rice cultivars breeded in Iksan(NICS department of rice and winter cereal crops) were higher than other institutes breeded cultivars.
