In this study, we investigate the usefulness of an expert system in the technological market of financial business. While the electronic banking systems are being developed, domestic financial agencies are implementing their on-line systems. We explore how to develop a prototype of the investment system, refine knowledge representation and refine the inference method for knowledge usage. Together, these efforts are shown to benefit the accomplishment of financial decision making.

최근들어 컴퓨터 기술의 발달과 더불어 인간과 기계사이의 통신 수단으로 음성에 대한 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 특히 손을 쓰지 않고 음성에 의한 기계의 조작, 또한 키보드가 없이도 입력할 수 있는 음성컴퓨터 등의 개발이 요구되고 있다. 우리가 컴퓨터를 사용할 때 불편한 점 중 하나는 명령을 키보드로 입력하는 것이다. 그래픽 인터페이스의 발달로 마우스와 키보드를 병용함으로써 편의성이 많이 개선되었으나, 사람끼리의 대화에 비하면 아직 불편하기 그지없다. 음성인식 기술은 이러한 휴먼 인터페이스가 편리하고 자연스럽도록 개선시켜 줄 핵심기술 중 하나다. 음성인식기술은 음성구동 컴퓨터를 비롯해 무인전화번호안내, 음성구동 주문형 비디오, 각종 음성안내 시스템, 가전제품등 이용영역이 광범위하다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 최근들어 연구가 활발히 진행중인 음성인식 관련기술 및 연구 동향에 대해서 조사연구 고찰하고자 한다.

Project management is the process of guiding the project from its beginning through its performance to its closure. Project management includes three basic operations which are planning, organizing and control. In particular, the project managers role and responsibility is regarded as the most important part when companies are supposed to work together. The purpose of this study is to address the knowledge and skills requirement of project manager. The demand of project manager has been increasing to perform accurately and share information effectively. In this paper, the proposed course can be used to provide a rudimentary scheme to train and develop knowledge and skills of project managers.

Task-Based Ontology of Problem Solving Adapters forDeveloping Intelligent Systems

In this paper we describe Task-Based Problem Solving Adapters (TPSAs) for modeling a human solution (through activity-centered analysis) to a software solution (in form of computer-based artifact). TPSAs are derived from the problem solving pattern or consistent problem solving structures/strategies employed by practitioners while designing solutions to complex problems. The adapters developed by us lead toward human-centeredness in their design and underpinning that help us to address the pragmatic task constraints through a range of technologies like neural networks, fuzzy logic, and genetic algorithms. We also outline an example of applying the TPSAs to develop a working system for assisting sales engineers of an electrical manufacturing firm in preparing indent and monitoring the status of orders in the company.

A Study on the Satisfaction Level of Local Government Public Service

Assessing local government performance has become a crucial issue in recent years. This paper addresses the satisfaction level of local government public service, which is defined as a degree of the results or the impacts of the local government public service delivery on the citizen's needs, demands and expectations. The satisfaction level of local government public service can improve decisions made by local government managers, and enhance accountability of local government to the citizens they serve. This study focuses especially on the various aspects of administrative systems in a local government and developed a systematic survey for their performance. Explanations for the evaluation items and the analysis of survey are discussed throughout the paper.

Aspects of Process Variables in Stamping Press Lines

This study investigates solving production problems in an automotive stamping plant using Finite Element (FE) analysis. The fundamentals of stamping, metal plasticity and FE analysis are developed. In this paper, we provide the basis for a simulation of the stamping of a production part, the automotive rear floorpan. On-plant factorial Design of Experiments (DoE) were simulated using the floorpan model. The accuracy of the simulations was undetermined because of variability in the DoE results. Predictions of flange shape, wrinkling and thickness show qualitative agreement with manufactured parts and indicate that simulating an industrial part is feasible.

An ANP-Based Performance Model for ERP System's Implementation

This paper addresses a performance evaluation model for ERP system's implementation using Analytic Network Process (ANP) technique. In this study, the performance variables are identified as the perspectives of cost, business process, systems operation, and change management, respectively. The empirical study also investigated factors that affect the performance variables to find out the causal relationship between them using the ANP approach. The data for the empirical analysis were collected from manufacturing companies that have implemented ERP systems. The research findings indicate the proposed model is powerful in proposing that the indirect relationship between influencing factors and managerial effectiveness, mediated by employee satisfaction, is an important one.

An empirical study on the material distribution decision making

This paper addresses a mathematical approach to decision making in a real-world material distribution situation. The problem is characterized by a low-volume and highly-varied mix of products, therefore there is a lot of material movement between the facilities. This study focuses especially on the transportation scheduler with a tool that can be used to quantitatively analyze the volume of material moved, the type of truck to be used, production schedules, and due dates. In this research, we have developed a mixed integer programming problem using the minimum cost, multi-period, multi-commodity network ow approach that minimizes the overall material movement costs. The results suggest that the optimization approach provides a set of feasible solution routes with the objective of reducing the overall fleet cost.

Improving Process Stability using Design of Experiments

The sheet metal stamping process continues to be a challenge to the field of science and engineering. The focus of this paper is to gain a better understanding of the sheet metal stamping process. By using Finite Element analysis and Design of Experiments, we are trying to analyze the stamping variables and determine which ones influence the stamping operations most.
