Temporal triangular alopecia is a triangular or oval shaped non-scarring alopecia, occurring on the temporal side of a scalp. Although surgical excision or hair transplantation has been known to be an effective therapy for this condition, so far only a few case reports have proved their usefulness. A 27-year-old male patient presented with a history of congenital hair loss affecting left frontotemporal area which persisted after simple excision done 10 years ago. We transplanted 270 follicular units into the alopecic patch using follicular unit hair transplantation method. About 75% of alopecic patch was covered with newly grown hairs 15 months after hair transplantation and the patient was satisfied with the result. Herein, we report a case of temporal triangular alopecia which underwent both simple excision and hair transplantation, which provides information about the benefit and loss for each procedure.

This paper presents the Inkjet-printed strain gauge using PEDOT:PSS. The strain gauge (width 0.6 mm, length 20 mm, thickness 0.3 μm) was printed on the PET film using PEDOT:PSS ink. The resistance variation of the fabricated strain gauge was measured by the digital multi-meter with the displacement range of -4 to 10 mm. As the measured result, resistance variation (ΔR/R0) has approximately 0.75%, linearity of 99.87%. The fabricated strain gauge is expected to the various applications such as tape type pressure sensor, PMS(pressure mapping sensor), wearable devices.

This paper presents the inkjet-printed flexible temperature and humidity sensor(F-TH sensor) using PEDOT:PSS. The series, mesh and parallel type sensing element using PEDOT:PSS ink was printed on the overhead projector(OHP) film. The fabricated sensor of each structure has the temperature sensitivity of 140 Ω/℃, 29 Ω/℃ and 1.4 Ω/℃ with linearity, respectively. Also the fabricated sensor was not only possible to measure a temperature, but also to detect humidity. The humidity sensitivity of 400 Ω/%RH, 3.4 Ω/%RH and 3 Ω/%RH with linearity, respectively. The fabricated F-TH sensor is expected for the various applications such as electronic devices, bio-healthcare, industrial field.

Background: As the number of dermatologic surgical procedures increases, home care wound management is growing in frequency. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and surgical site infection rate of home care wound manageme nt according to the use of oral antibiotics and the characteristics of the wound and of the patient. Methods: Our study included 207 patients that had undergone a dermatologic surgical procedure and the subsequent management of their wounds in the home. We checked overall infection rate of home care wound management and compared the result according to the use of oral antibiotics. We evaluated surgical site infection rate after we classified each surgical wound based on age, sex, surgical method, site, size, and depth. In addition, we surveyed efficacy of home care wound management. Results: Overall surgical site infection rate was 1.86%, and the infection rate was not significantly different between the group that utilized home care wound management without oral antibiotics and the group with oral antibiotics (p >0.05). There was no statistically significant difference of surgical site infection rate according to sex, age, wound`s size and depth (p>0.05). However, patients with younger age, male sex, greater size, and depth of wounds showed a numerical increase in surgical site infection rate. Staged partial excision for nevus sebaceous in scalp showed significantly higher rate of surgical site infection (p<0.05). In our survey, most patients preferred home care wound management after dermatologic surgical procedures and patients were able to perform the wound care well. Conclusion: We expect to utilize home care wound management after dermatologic surgical procedures, provided that physicians appropriately educate patients and their caretakers on proper dressings.
